I have not played another game since I bought Battlefield 2 when it came out. I can't stop playing it. The new graphics engine they used for this game has made it one of the smoothest games to play, and it looks awesome especially when the settings are on high. I really like the whole rankings system. I think it's a first among first person shooters. It's probably why I play it so much, to keep getting higher ranks and in turn getting new weapons to unlock. It's fun to get awards and ribbons too. In my opinion it's the best PC game I've ever played. It's also the most realistic too, in terms of how the guns shoot and feel and how the vehicles drive/fly.

Greatest Game of the Year

I have a Dell Dimension 9100 with 1 GB Ram, GeForce 6800, 3 GHz, and 160 GB hard drive.

I can run this game very well.

The installation was no problem, just a bit slow because of all the files being extracted (which is normal for a game like this, Doom 3, and Half-Life 2).

I wasn't quite used to the sounds of guns after playing Counter-Strike: Source for so long, so I wasn't too thrilled.

After I actually learned how to play, I found out why this game was arguably Game of the Year.

The guns all have special features, and you can pick many squads and ranks to be in.

You aren't allowed to spray a whole clip, rather 3 bullets at a time.

That is better anyways, because spraying will get you nowhere.

I love the teamwork in the game, it's almost necessary or you will lose, unlike games like Counter-Strike.

I also REALLY like the tank and chopper, which can fit up to two people. One person can ride, the other can fire with the attached machinegun inside it.

This game is as real as it gets, and I reccommend it to anybody who enjoys a challenge.

Now I have to tell you this if you have the minimum requirements.

This says 512 MB Ram is fine, but this game itself takes up 110 MB! I was really fortunate to have 1 GB, or my computer would be very laggy.

Also, my friend has a GeForce 5700 (which is pretty standard for good gamers) and he has all low settings for display.

------

Now for the bad thing for EVERYBODY.

This game requires a CD everytime you play, and normally if you exit the game and then enter again, it doesn't work unless you eject the CD then put it back in.

It is a bit odd, but the third patch which is coming in a few days, or weeks (hopefully sooner), is bound to fix that.

Also, connecting to your account sometimes fails. Normally it takes about 5 seconds, but sometimes it will say it's connecting, but it is not responding and you can't exit.

Map loading points are quite slow too, normally taking 1 to 2 minutes.

Besides those points (which may seem like a lot, but the patch will fix pretty much all but the loading points), I reccommend the game to anyone!

Good game need really good computer.

This is actually an excellent game too bad you need a really good computer to play it. Aside from that it is an excellent game. The graphics are great and i love the squad system for online play. It is no longer an unorganized mob of people shooting each other there is actually strategy. Singleplayer is good too the AI are actually pretty smart, except for the fact that they can't seem to climb ladders. There is one more complaint i have, for multiplayer the server menu is very clunky and slow. Also load times are very long but once you get into the battle it's worth it. Also don't bother buying a headset nobody uses them. All in all this is a great game.

Black Hawk Down.....and Castrated

Wow, what a huge dissappointment. I played this game heavily when it was released but I took a break for the last year. I just started playing again recently. So much has changed in a year with the latest patches. The problems are as follows:

1. The Black Hawk helicopter has been nerfed by EA so badly that it is now a joke. No one will get into one of these flying paper deathtraps anymore. The miniguns might as well shoot water. You CANNOT kill anyone from the air anymore. You can hose an unprotected sniper until the guns overheat and he will just laugh while shooting at you. EA should have patched the Black Hawk right out of the game since it just sits there round after round, unused. Very sad.

2. Even though I did not purchase the expansions (Special Forces, Euro Trash, etc.), I am constantly killed by weapons I have never heard of. This is because EA decided to let everyone that bought an expansion use their new weapons on ALL servers. Just another way EA says F.U. to their customers who don't buy ALL expansions.

3. Ground-to-air missiles such as the IGLA are nerfed as well. It is nearly impossible to hit a jet from the ground, heat seeking missiles aside. They bomb you all day yet the range on your ground defenses is barely far enough to track a low-flying helo let alone a jet.

In conclusion, while still playable and fun, parts of BF2 have been hobbled, crippled, castrated and made to wear a pretty pink dress.

I tried the demo for this game and loved it, after a couple hours of playing it I knew I had to buy it, so I looked on Amazon and noticed it was going for $15, much cheaper than stores and other sites. This game is amazing, endless fun online and off, I recommend it to anyone who wants an online military FPS.

Super addictive online game, BF2 = AWESOME!!!

OMG, i've been playing this game for a while now, and i can tell you for sure, that if you love First person shooters like me, you will enjoy this game a lot. Everything from the vehicles, the weapons, the maps, the soldiers everything is very well done. You need to take into account that this game is designed to enjoy/play it online, if you play it alone, you will be only having 20 % of the fun.

If you are looking for a pretty fun FPS and want to play it online, this is it, buy it...buy it buy it... is just super fun and i can't recommend it enough...10 stars!!!

This game is now!

Ok when BF2 came out I heard some stuff about, thought it might be cool. What I heard overall though was that the graphics requirements were insane and it was buggy as hell. Ok so I picked this game (4/4/07) up after a few of my guildmates from WoW were talking about, and I have gotta say that I love it.

Pro:It runs smooth like butter on my gaming rig (Core 2 Duo 2ghz, GeForce(tm) 7600 GT, 256MB DDR3, 2 Gigs of Dual Channel Ram) I put everything on Medium, Geometry at High and run 1280x720. The patches have fixed a lot of the lag and video issues, gameplay is solid, fast, exciting, and new.

Con: You can't change your name (?!?). If you want to change graphics setting you have to disconnect and often resart the game, then wait for shaders to optimize. A lot of the backbone code, especially outside the game (menus, network, controls, etc) seems poorly executed. Once you are in the game though, there are not these glaring flaws.

Overall, if you have been waiting for this game to get better, it has. If you have the system to run it, I would highly recommend it.
