I am unable to play the game. I should have done more research prior to placing my order. My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce Ti 2 with 64MB - It takes a 128 MB card to play !!!
A new card is approx. $ 400.00, so the game will be obsolete before I can afford to play it !!
best multie player ever

I just recently bought the game but have not yet got many hours in yet. I had to upgrade my video card and my motherboard and processor this ended up costing around $180.00 which really is still cheap compared to buying new pc. Man does this game connect super fast and load fast. It loads way faster than the ps2 version. The game requiment is a 128mb graphic video card and I have a 256 video card and my graphics works ok , I now know why people say say you get what you pay for. I will probably upgrade to a 512 video card later on. Its not that the 256 card is bad , it just the picture and clarity would be alot better with a 512 video card. Buy this game and be happy.
Awesome game.... when it runs

Purchasers of this game are spearheading a movement to get the game renamed to Battlefield CTD. Battlefield CTD (or Battlefield Crash To Desktop for those who enjoy the extra reading), is a incredibly fun game when it works. Unfortunately, this title has that rushed to deadline feel to it and it shows. The most common crash is the now infamous GhostManager.cpp error. For those without programming experience the *.cpp extension is industry standard for C Plus Plus, the programming language the game was coded in. The Ghost Manager is the part of the game that handles the respawning of dead players. That's right, you've just made the ultimate sacrifice to destroy your opponent's artillary, you're about to go back into fray when "bleep" the whole game is gone, lost, never to be recovered. If the goal was to leave players dumbfounded, frustrated and wanting to return the game to their point of purchase then this Battlefield CTD bug is a five-star gem. While you might get over the first 5 - 10 crashes with a shrug, the bug takes it's toll. When you've crashed 45 - 75 times, you'll pack this game up into cold storage and wait for a patch. Of course patching isn't a strong point either. No sooner did EA release patch 1.01, the following day they had to release an emergency 1.02 patch to fix... of all things... a memory overrun problem. That's a programming 101 mistake. So I'm not holding out a lot of faith in this title. My advice is that this title is too young to waste your money on. EA has already announced an expansion pack, so save your money. This game is sure to be bundled at a later date with the expansion pack and the bugs worked out. When that day comes, be the first one in line, it will be worth your money and time. Until then proceed at your own risk...
This May be the best FPS shooter for the PC yet

I have only just seen this on TV, (G4 channel 162) and it looks amazing. The graphics rock, gameplay, rocks, everything else rocks. The only downside, it costs pretty much. Battlefield 2 will be coming out on the consoles, but it will be a lot less slow and worse graphics, but none the less I think that this will be the best. The online play also looks amazing. You dont play in deathmatch type games, you are in a squad of 4-8 players with private voice chat. If you don't like this, you don't know games. You have mega bad taste. That is not just an opinion. Buy this game or I'll hunt you down.

Believe the hype, folks. I had never even touched the original Battlefield game(s), so I started playing this game from an entirely fresh perspective. I have to say that the game was a bit daunting at first, as there are a fair amount of things to learn before you can start playing to your full potential. It is very easy to get frustrated while you are learning the game because you will spend most of the time getting your a$$ handed to you - at least I know I did. After you gain an understanding of what is actually going on, though, the game offers a rich and extremely exciting multi-player experience. The thrill of creating a squad with a few of your buddies and piling into a vehicle and heading off to raise hell together is almost indescribable. I also think the fact that you can spawn on top of your squad leader is a terrific feature. The different "kits" are well-rounded and the vehicles handle incredibly well.
I have only noticed two potential drawbacks:
1. You may have heard that you need a flamethrower PC to run this game - well, you'd better believe it. I have an AMD-64 3500+ with a 6800GT and a Gig of RAM and I actually had a few issues of choppiness with this game (with the graphics settings cranked up, of course). Adding another Gig of RAM helped immensely and I would recommend 2 Gigs of RAM as the minimum if you are running the game at higher resolutions.
2. The Single Player game sucks.
Overall, I have been playing games from EA since their first batch of releases in the early 80's on the Atari 800 and have played literally thousands of computer games since then but I feel that this game is one of the best pieces of entertainment software ever created. It is certainly the best online game out there and I can't recommend it enough.
The game is fun

This is NOT a strategic type war game.. It's an action war game. Something moving all the time.. run-run and die.. run-run and kill other player.. I don't reckon that this is an authentic war simulator but its fun for the most part. I really like the fact that you have a constant character and receive awards and medals as you play.
There are lots of vehicles and aircraft to use.

Battlefield 2 is one of the best shooters I've ever played for PC. The squad system and overall way the game works provides a great team-based experience especially when online. The learning curve is a bit steep for some of the more advanced options (such as being commander of your team and controlling squads and players effectively), but overall it is a great game, as long as you enjoy working as part of a larger unit rather than just playing alone. Playing alone works too, but playing as a part of the team is significantly more enjoyable, because that's how the game is meant to be played. Battlefield 2 is worth every dollar I spent on it.
