Good shooter

Violent game. Good first person shooter if you play on the net or with friends. Make sure your system will work with it (try the demo). Solo games only good for training for multi-player.

BF2 is a great game but get used to downloading patches

I love Battlefield 2. Heck... I have loved the Battlefield series since BF1942. I was earnestly looking forward to playing BF2 for a long time and I wasn't entirely disappointed by the final product. Sure it was a bit buggy at first, but it is so much fun to play and always left me with the adrenaline pumping after I walked away from the PC.

Sadly, for me, the saga of playing BF2 required a huge upgrade to my machine. First off, my sad little mainboard couldn't squeeze out more than Athlon XP 2100+ speeds so although my processor was a 2800+ it was locked down to an anemic 2100+ running at about 1.5 GHz. A new mainboard for about $40 solved the problem. Then I ran into the video mafia who informed me that my 128 MB had enough memory but the chipset was not supported. So I had to run out and buy a $70 video card with a supported chipset and I doubled my video memory to boot... just to make sure.

So, ultimately, for me, my $50 game ended up costing me an additional $110 to play. Oh well, I have to expect that since the games keep getting better and my machine either has to catch up or drop out of the race entirely. I assume with the next iteration after BF2142, my aging machine will roll over and play dead, permanently.

All that aside, I love BF2. I think it is a great game with an excellent ranking system hampered by the fact that if you suck at BF2 and you keep losing a lot or getting killed alot (like me) you will move up in ranks very slowly. Still, I find time to play it just to earn a rank every few months.

I think this is a must buy product for any BF fan or FPS game fan. Just go out and buy it and play it and I think you'll agree that its worth the cash.

Pretty good game

It's not a bad game, online play isn't quite as fun as BFV but, the rank system makes being dominant in this actually worthwhile.
Constant updates make this game better as well, with removal of glitches, new maps, reducing and increasing the effectiveness of weapons, as well as the addition of the Special Forces mod, it never gets boring and no one weapons kit will ever be so dominant that no one plays with anything else.

BEST PC GAME EVER!!!!

I am a big time gamer and when I got this game I realized that my computer could definetly do it, but it required an advanced video card as well as a good RAM. So get this game but make sure you read the system requirements before you buy it, because your computer might not hold it.

I bought this game last weekend. Looking at the game it looked a lot like CALL OF DUTY which is an awsome game with great graphics.
I have a fast machine (AMD of course 2800+) with over a gig of RAM, 3 7200rpm hdd, state of the art sound card (32bit, NVIDIA video which will run anything that I throw at it... get the picture.
EA has always had a problem with installation and this is one of the worst! There is also almost no customer service... and after a couple of hours and ctrl-alt-del and getting all sorts of programs out of RAM I finally got it loaded. And I started it up...
... and the graphics are NOT any better than OTHER lower price games. As a matter of fact, the graphics in the original CALL OF DUTY & sequel were much much better! They lack detail to say the least... no I am NOT playing the online part of the program. That I understand about the lack of detail etc with online games.
If I could return this game I would.
Buyer beware... see it on a monitor loaded up before you buy! The opening sequence 'movie' on the CD is not like the game at all.

This game, will not run on my PC, even through it meets the "minium" system requirements. Even after I called to ask for assistance I got a run around from the technical support people... first they blamed my video card, then they blamed the cpu....etc. What was happening simply, the thing would close back to desktop. No freaking fix yet!! Sheesh!!

Despite meeting all the stated requirements, this game doesn't work on my computer. Every time I try to install it just says 'installation failed, please try again'. If you buy this game, you're buying a very expensive cardboard box.

Im a heavy gamer and just got my new costum built pc. i got this game about 1 month later and installed it. i have winxp 64 bits so it runs a little better than that on 32 bits. But yes the graphics they are just driving me crazy. it sais that it can go from geforce 5700 fx and up. i have a 6100 fx and it runs like my pc is a couple 100 years old. when i go flying the whole thing freezes and throws me from the servers. so i go on singleplayer and then it freezes but when it has unfreezed it drives me crazy since it has crashed. 1/7 times it works properly and lets me fly. bahhh. and the worce error is that it sais that windows is short on virtual memory. darn it i have like 4.77 gigs of free virtual memory paging free and on the researched websites it sais that virtual memory may only take up 100 to 250 megs and may go higher. thats insane since i have like 4.77 GIGS left. oh yeah and a last tip do not try to play this game on windows vista beta2 since it totally screwed up my pc and i luckily recovered my data. yay. then i decided to take the 10 gigs for my 3rd ops (operating System) to add it to my winxp pro x64.
