This game is a great deal of fun, but there are a couple of things to know before you buy it as a gift. First, some clues are written in journal / letter form in old style brown script making it tough for kids to read. Second, the help option is limited as the only option is phone calls from the parlor phone. Third, start off by writing down all the clues to keep from running around to re-check what you thought you saw or read. Fourth, don't go places without the pry bar or lantern, trust me on this, my daughter got fatally trapped. Then the second chance option is cool, and comes in handy. Master the clock settings to get you in the clear where you need to be time wise. And finally when you are ready to solve the mystery save the game right away before you make your final move. Because second chance won't take you back far enough to help you in the event of a surprise.Enjoy the game, it is fun to play with your child and the graphics are pretty good!

This is the game for sleuths who prefer a good puzzle yarn, since for most of the game you'll be learning Chinese so you can... well, you'll see. The graphics are quite charming, and you'll probably be genuinely creeped out at times by the sound effects. My main complaint is the time constraints, which will have you setting Nancy's alarm clock for odd hours. Also, if you don't play the game a certain way, you miss out on certain information which, though not crucial to the game, sort of leaves you hanging on one of the sub-mysteries.

My kids say, "We have played every Nancy Drew game. This is by far our favorite one. It was challenging but not frustrating. It even had spooky moments! Graphics were awesome, never ending sluthing, and excellent ending climax. Overall PERFECT game!"

WE BOTH RECOMEND IT

Nancy is a Sneaky Lil' Detective!!

This is by far my favorite Nancy Drew game. This was my first game, and it is still a great game. It is very suspensful at times, and it is a good game for beginners. This game is also very sneaky! She is very sneaky in this game, I found, more than the others. It is very very fun, and there is only 1 or 2 really hard puzzles. But, this one is slightly scary. I remember getting scared at one part, so much, that I almost cried. But, at the time, I was about 8, so, that is why. But, overall, this is a very fun game, with a good plot, and great characters. The only thing I hate about this game is the seance. I was very angry that they put that terrible thing in this good, clean game. It is very scary, but, thank goodness, you find out that the seance was not real, and was totally rigged. Good, girls need to know, there is no such thing as connecting with spirts. But, other than that flaw, I would reccomend this game to anyone!!

Of all the games I've played, I liked this one the best. There are two levels, so although the villain stays the same, there are new challenges at a higher level if you choose to play again. The characters, especially Abby, have a lot of personality, even though they aren't as complex as Stay Tuned For Danger's characters. The graphics are great the attention to detail is astounding. There are many clever jokes inserted by the game designers--if you can catch them. The plot moves quickly, and never grows tired. There is always something to do, and some new twist or clue to follow up in Message in a Haunted Mansion!

Awesome game!

Message in a Haunted Mansion was the most fun computer game I've ever played! I got it for my birthday but I couldn't figure it out right away so I stopped and kind of forgot about it. Then later my sister started playing it and we began doing it together. We had so much fun! There were different people you could talk to and they seemed so real. I had no idea who was causing the accidents till the very end. They all had a motive. You could call your friends Bess and George for hints, plus some other people you knew. I was always screaming when something really exciting was happening. It was tricky, but we always seemed to figure it out after awhile. When we finished it, we were really sad and missed it. Trust me, you will like this game!

I'd read the Nancy Drew books when I found out about the games.
For my birthday I wanted the games and I went on Amazon. The ratind was good so I decided I'd get this game.
It was really fun. Even though the game is made for girls my brother and his friend really liked it. My brother would make me play it when I got up(I'm only allowed on the computer on weekends).
So I say the game Is a COOL COOL FANTASTIc GAME!!!

I bought this game as a gift for a relative's birthday. She and her little sister are captivated by it (they are 10 & 7). It may be a little too difficult for them, even in the Jr. detective mode, but they love to play when I come over to help them. They are not however video game aficionados, so perhaps that accounts for being slow to solve the mystery. Good story line, interesting rooms and clues.

I would recommend it for girls age 10 only if they are very familiar with video games, if not, it may be a little frustrating or they may need quite a bit of help. Otherwise it is a great game for girls over 10.

Totally Awsome

Nancy Drew Message In A Haunted Mansion Excites Me

You know how hard playing Nancy Drew Message in a haunted mansion is. Even I play it everyday, I can't solve that mystery. I have to tell you some secrets of it. Asking why Abby thinks that Valdez is haunting you (Nancy) in the game, don't be afraid she is only joking you! Thinking if the seance is true? Nope. The seance is fake! How do I know? Simple I've been asking Charlie again and again! The seance was all hoax! Even Rose doesn't know it! Do you know Louis Chandler? He is the one who make sounds in the basement. Now, you know the seance was fake... take a look beside Nancy's bed beside her table. There is a box of zodiac signs, and now I don't know how to open it. But actually don't be afraid of all the happenings in the house which according to Abby is haunted, that was not true. Now, let's talk about the piano huh? The answer is B E G A G okay? Now you know? Okay thanks all of you! This is the end! Gotta go!!!
