Even a 6-year old loves it

The other reviewers have talked about the quality gameplay. I'll talk about how to play it as an adult with a 6-year old:

* Write down the clues yourself, showing her what you are doing and why.

* Let her explore the mansion. That's the most fun part.

* Read the books and letters out loud. Ask how they might connect to the plot.

* Enjoy many hours with your daughter.

Five stars, easy.

just ok...

MY kids are 8, and this game just did not keep their interest. Although as an adult, I thought it looked interesting.

Great game, but scary

Message in a Haunted Mansion is a great game, but for anyone who gets scared easily, it is NOT a good idea.
Rose Green, a friend of Hannah's, is renovating a victorian mansion to turn it into a bed and breakfast, which is all the rage in San Francisco. Problem is there have been a couple of...accidents.
Throughout this game you will meet four characters - Rose, who spent all her money on the mansion, Charlie, a college student, Abby, who is obsessed with the supernatural, and Louis, an *ahem* antique dealer. Parts of this game I found quite scary, and others not at all. For example, take the seance. I wasn't scared at all. When I heard a ghostly laugh at the top of the stairs, I was scared out of my wits. Seeing a ghost of a woman drifting down the hallway, well, that was neutral.
In this game, you will get to stop a fire and see ghosts and hear them. Funny, I just realized, playing this game I did not die once. I never used second chance. In all the other games I played I did. Anyways, if you don't believe in ghosts, buy this game and it will give you a wake-up call.

Great game!

I loved the game but I found it a little scary. It was tricky and challenging, so it lasted a long time. It was spooky so I had to run upstairs sometimes and my dad played it for me.

I thought this game was pretty good. I thought the stuff about the seance, ghosts, and "spirit of Valdez" was kind of goofy, becuase I don't believe in the occult or anything. But other than that it was a good game, although easy to solve.

Not suitable for young children

Amazon says it is okay for 6 and up. The cover says 10 and up and that is probably about right. I bought it for my seven year old daughter and it was too scary for her to play. Other than that, it is a high quality game and appears to be challenging.

WOW! Not only do I love to play the Senior Detective level, but my daughter who is almost 8 thinks this game is awesome! She loved the magnifier, and is already enjoying the book. The graphics are beautiful, and this game provides alot of opportunity for her to use her reasoning skills. She gets a great deal of satisfaction in finding the clues then sharing them with her little brother. It has so much to offer- you learn about music, history, and the art of being observant. The little touches like ghosts reflected in mirrors, or curtains moving unexpectedly are a hoot. It is nice to see a game oriented towards girls that doesn't play down to them.I highly recommend this game!

Loved the Game just as much as the Books... Maybe More!

This computer Game, ... is truly a fun and exciting game. I was somewhat reluctant to play this game, but once I started it, I was hooked! The plot was well developed, with exciting twists and turns throughout the game. The characters were minimal, but I suppose that was alright. The puzzles could be a little bit difficult, but you were able to choose from different levels of difficulty.
I recommend this game to people who are looking for something that will keep their interest and who will enjoy a fun filled and mystery solving game. I loved it and I hope you will, too!

DO NOT MISS!

This is a great adventure game. It kept me hooked, I played through the whole thing in 4 days! Great Graphics. It was also kind of spooky, which is definetly a good thing. My favorite game in the Nancy Drew series. It is not easy, though, and I only got through it because of its great website...But overall, an awsome game.

Really good
