Great software for young girls

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 7 / 7

Our eight-year-old daughter is positively entranced with this software, coming back again and again to try to figure out the next steps. It's intellectually quite challenging, and the "story" evolves in a way that even has us parents eager to learn what comes next. Our daughter loves puzzles and mysteries, and this hits the target perfectly. The graphics and sound are superb, and installation was a snap.

Loved it

I'm 53 and my daughter is 27. We absolutely loved playing this game together. We couldn't wait to visit each other to continue playing the game. We played the other two Nancy Drew games also and enjoyed them too. But this one was by far the best. We played the senior level in all three games. This last game had better puzzles than the last. More intrigue. The graphics are wonderful. We hated to finish it. We're looking forward to the next mystery. Hope it comes out soon!!

I just got this game for Christmas, and already I am practically at the end! This mind- boggling game has many twists and turns, 3-D graphics, and you can even pick up items along the way in order to solve some parts of the mystery! You can talk to people inside the house, explore their "territory" when they are not home, and even call people up on the telephone! Everyone is a suspect. There a quite a few puzzles to figure out, and lots of things to find! The second chace icon also lets you start where you left off if you make a mistake! I almost solved this mystery, but there are a few things I think I haven't covered yet. This is a great game for all ages!

I am a 32 year old mom of a toddler, and bought this game for ME. I've always been a fan of Nancy Drew, and I must say, that even tho this is intended for ages 10 and up, I found this challenging (at the JR. detective level), and I have a college degree! I just finished this and it was GREAT fun. You can check out the mfgr.'s website for tips if you get stuck. The graphics were excellent, and it provided a good challenge. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for a new one to come out.

A Compelling Mystery!

I think that this game was great! It took me a full week to do including having my social life etc. It was the first game I played! Still, I finished this game in a week without having any help from the official website "helpers" because I didn't know it existed yet. This game has great graphics, a cool mystery, and superb details! It's really creepy and gave me a billion heart attacks! I love this game!
The story-Nancy Drew is called up by her house keeper's, Hannah's (that's my name!), friend for yet another great mystery. This time she's inside a beautiful Victorian Mansion. There are creepy and abnormal things going on in the mansion. While Nancy encounters odd and scary events, she meets new people such as Abby, the friendly but supersitious girl down the hall, Charlie, the friendly builder, Rose, the welcoming friend of Hannah's, and Louis, the old business man in the library. As Nancy digs deeper into the freaky compelling mystery, she comes across several secret rooms, trap doors, secrets, and gets more than she bargained for!

Great game!

This was the first Nancy Drew game I received, and let me just say that if you are looking to give one of these games as a gift, this is a fantastic one to give. The first two games (Secrets Can Kill and Stay Tuned for Danger) are all right, but too slow and not fun and exciting to keep you on the edge of your chair. This game easily does that!

Set in an old mansion in San Francisco, you are Nancy Drew. You have been invited by a friend of yours to assist in the mansion as the renovations take place. There are other spirits in the house though... you are not alone! Complete with secret passageways and hidden rooms, trap doors, and tunnels, this game will keep you occupied for hours and hours. I have played it three or four times and it is still fun. You interact with other characters and search through bedrooms and hallways.

This game is good for anybody age 10 or older, or for slightly younger children if adults or older siblings will help them out. There is a "Second Chance" feature that, if you make a mistake (like blow something up or fall off a cliff or something), allows you to restart from right before you made the mistake. This is a life-saver in the game, as you will probably need a couple of chances to beat the final challenge when you and the bad guy (or girl!) come face-to-face.

I highly recommend Message in a Haunted Mansion too all mystery lovers - or even non mystery lovers (this might turn you into one!!) It is very entertaining and you will have a great time. It's fun to work on this with friends or siblings, because sometimes it takes two or three brains to help you solve the mystery! Just make sure you search all of the rooms very, very closely, and don't rule out any suspects too early! Happy gaming!

Great game even for adults

I'm 33 and I had fun and quite a challenge trying to figure this one out. I had to resort to the message boards for hints. It's a great game with great graphics, giving you the feel of being in a mansion. The story is quite involved and based on real fact--secret tunnels under San Francisco, womens' liberation, and gold-stealing bandits. It's not just for little girls, but they are sure to love it.

Another Great Nancy Drew Game!

Yet another great Nancy Drew game!

In "Message in a Haunted Mansion", Nancy is hired to help renovate an old victorian house, as the owners are hoping to turn it into a bed & breakfast.

Upon her arrival, Nancy finds out that a lot of strange things & accidents have been occuring at the home - ever since they began the renovations... Is a ghost behind it all - as one of the owners believes, or is one of the hired help or even one of the owners to blame for all that's going on? And if it's one of "the living", what reason do they have to cause all of this havoc? Your job as Nancy Drew, teen detective will be to answer these questions, and get to the bottom of it.

Overall, I would highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoyed (or is enjoying) the Nancy Drew series. I am 36 years old, and still love playing these games - a testament to the fact that they are appropriate for pre-teen, teen & adults alike!

here's a message!

This was a really hard game to find out! I was so much wanting to find out who did it I kept playing for hours. The most I ever played was 5 hours in a row! I finally won it! I think you should really try this one! I think that you should be at least 12 though because it is really hard.
