Anyone who doesnt want this is nuts. If you dont have the sims or any of those expansion packs yet, GET THIS. Its such a bargain for such a great game. Dont forget that this game will not run well on a lousy computer, but let me put it this way. GET A NEW COMP! I have been a fan of the game of several years now and i love this and all the expansions.
;-) HAVE FUN!

how can you get kidnapped by the aliens? i can't figure that one out at all!!! i stay outside and play with the telescope but are you supposed to fill the logic bar all the way up with the telescope? or what do you do to get attacked by aliens? i'm completely confused about that aspect of the game.

After all the hype about "The Sims" I was expecting a lot more from this game. The interaction choices are extremely limited and these silly people don't even take time off on the weekends! So they have very little leisure time in which to develop relationships with neighbors and co-habitants. This is the most rediculous simulation game I have seen to date.
A good game!

In the Sims Deluxe I liked it better and worse than the regular sims. I liked it better because there were more interesting things to buy and do. I liked it worse because it wasn't as easy as the sims. For example, in THE SIMS I made a boyfriend who was a negative to my sign of the zodiac. But now I have so many things to do.
I do recommend this though ;)
Umm....Get a life....a REAL one

This is corny. People...go get some excercise. Talk to REAL people. Visit REAL places. Throw a REAL party. Dont buy this game and then sit around letting the whole REAL world go by. Seriously, if you arent twelve years old with a 7 pm curfew, there is no reason to sit around doing this nonsense all day.
This game will suck you in forever.

OK, I'm probably going to have to uninstall this game until I'm done with college because once you start playing it you can't stop, and then you end up failing your classes, forgetting to eat or sleep, and then wasting away to nothing. But it's fun though! The new architecture is great and there are some really interesting skins and some fun objects(for those of you who have never played the sims, skins are the faces, clothes, etc. you put on your little sims people). In one neighborhood we have a couple of gay matadors, a house full of superheros, and a garden gnome factory. Great fun.
Great marketing EA

You would expect this and finally they came out with a deluxe edition instead of buying two seperate games. It is a great deal, cheaper than the sims alone. This comes with The one that started it all "The sims" and livin large. With neighborhoods and the people and you control their lives, by being messy or clean. Being married and having kids or single. You can oick jobs like police officers, or even a job in the military. If you have these two packs then don't buy it...........
But wait, marketing comes in because they add new stuff exclusive to only this pack and nowhere else like furniture. So they make you have to buy this pack. That is why their stock is so high! This pack DOES not include the other 1,000 expansion packs. Great marketing EA, smart people, well they are located in Redwood City. In the Silicon Valley, the heart of where technology is...
The best game.....EVER...

I just recently got into the Sims, though it has been out for a while and there are many fans. I got the Sims Deluxe edition for Christmas and have been playing it non stop- it is strangely addicting and obsessive.
The Sims deluxe edition includes the original sims game, living large expansion pack and the sims creator. These allow you to create your own families, neighborhoods and even your own sim character. You can even create up to 4 or 5 different neighborhoods..each with their own personalities.
The fun of the sims is that you get to create your family, move into a home or build a home and help them run or ruin their lives. Your sims obey your commands on when to eat, sleep, socialize, bathe etc.
There are different career paths that your sim can do...earning money, advancing or even getting fired if you miss too much work. Advancing in your job depends on the skills that you acquire, the friends you make and luck.
Alot of the fun is the interaction between your sims...make them friends, room mates, married...even enemies. Your ultimate relationship depends on your interactions..talk, gossip, hug, kiss..its all up to you.
Because this also includes the living large expansion pack, you can create even bigger houses with better objects, more characters, better themes. Create a love nest or a castle...its up to you.
