Disappointing and Dumbed Down

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 3 / 7

I am a fan of the Nancy Drew games, but this one was a disappointment. The game has a map interface that takes Nancy directly to her destination, which means no more wandering around for Nancy. Also, there is not nearly as many "things" to look at; instead many clues are "given" to Nancy by contacts on her cell phone. There was no "night time" alarm clock which takes away Nancy's opportunity to explore when people are not around; it also takes away much of the thrill and fear of "being caught." There wasn't much suspense in this game either and the mystery was very easy to solve. I gave the game two stars because my game was not buggy, things worked like they were supposed to and the villian was difficult to guess. I do think that Her Interactive should stick with their older formats: Ghost Dogs and the Haunted Mansion were great, suspensful games that required a detective to crack the case.

I have not yet gotten this game but I feel that it will be quite good for I have most of the Nancy Drew games and they have all been good. Mis-leading but there always ways to get out of a pit in which you are stuck in, weather you are stuck or not. I think Nancy Drew games are great for people like me because I like to solve things and use to my brain, and for people who like Nancy Drew books or detective stuff. I think it will be better than the others.(My father's ID is Essex Fowlks V)

Great Nancy Drew games!

This Nancy Drew game is going to be filled with a very haunted story line, so it should be the best. Nancy gets to go to a graveyard, an abandoned house, possibly a treehouse, and even a lake! I haven't played it yet-because it's not out- but I have played the other 6 titles and found that they are my favorites! Happy sluthing!

Disappointment on Deception Island

The game was not as good as some of the previous ones. The most boring part was hunting for clams as if they couldn't find anything better or more interesting for Nancy (or me) to do but needed to stretch the time for game play out. I have a bone to pick about games that block you from doing something even though there is clearly something to do there just because you haven't triggered the clue yet that allows entry (i.e. kayaking to the beach area or jumping to the sand bar). Overall the game was ok. I'd like to see more games with female avatars and less violence.

I did not like this game as well as all the others. I think it is too difficult for the young teen as far as some of the puzzles go and I don't know if a lot of people would like the Mayan culture stuffed down their throats. The Graphics were greats--hints were better and parts were fun to play. I am looking forward to the next one but hope it is inbetween the earlier games and The Scarlett hand. Would I buy it for myself if I kneew probably but I know I won't give it to a youngster cause I feel it would turn them off of Nancy Drew.

A step back for Herinteractive

I think this is a step back for Herinteractive.I had not disliked a ND game since Secrets Can Kill.I found this game boring. There were not many places to explore, and like others i found it annoying when they would suggest things you have already done.Plus the game is really short.I solved it in the senior level in about 3 hours.

Carousel - Way too short and no puzzles!

If you like the Nancy Drew game series (and I do), there are much better ones to get. There are almost no puzzles to solve and you don't get to go anywhere interesting. At all. A theme park haunted house? Great - lots of potential there! But enter it and all you get to see is a virtually empty room. And it's the same with the roller coaster. I kept thinking the game was going to "open up" to more detail and more places, but while I was waiting for this to happen I followed what I thought was a simple clue and suddenly found I had solved the whole thing. Seriously, I thought I'd missed half the game, but walkthroughs tell me differently.

Don't waste your money.

Royal Tower Adventure

This one was my favorite Nancy Drew mystery so far. I have played many of the games and although they too were great I loved this one the most. Maybe it was the setting in a historic ski lodge, maybe it was the snow, or maybe it was the cool passage ways and fun people. I liked having a "to do" list, some certain duties given to me to advance the game and learn about new clues and suspects along the way. This game is my favorite and the most entertaing to me for these reasons.

1. It had a long game play time so I never got bored.
2. It had a lot of history and puzzles and clues to put together, again very entertaining.
3. The people were very realistic and the graphics were great.

Overall I really loved this game and you should definately check it out. You won't regret it!

Awesome game but doesnt compare to others.

It definately was not one of my favorites. I hate not having an alarm clock. The game was so restricted. Also I had to restart a couple of times, because if you miss one certain thing, it will screw up the rest of the game. I played in senior detective mode and still found this one too easy.
Then again HerInteractive still delivered quality. It was beautiful on the water parts. Still a very intriguing. Of course, if you are a nancy drew player. You will have to play this one.

Nancy Drew Treasure in the Royal Tower

When a blizzard ruins your vacation, you are stuck in Wickford Castle in Wisconsin. But you don't get to relax much on that trip, because another mystery turns up! The castle holds many passageways, conataining many historical artifacts. Marie Antoinette may even have hid her famous diamond somewhere in the Royal Tower...

This game was a ton of fun! The puzzles were not so easy, but not too hard either. The plot was wonderful and mysterious at the same time. It was not the best Nancy Drew Game I've played, but it was definitely worth playing.
