Wii Play is a fun, interactive way to challenge your friends in a non-violent contest of skill. Great game for all ages. It is not meant for single-player, but mainly for 2-4 players at a time. Some of the best games are Tanks, Charge, Laser-hockey and Duck Hunt (there is no blood and only about 3 ducks, mostly targets, in Duck Hunt). This is a good deal because you get the game and the controller (a $90 value).
Loved the Tanks

Overall, some games on Wii Play were not great and some were. We love the tanks, cow racing, fishing and target practice. Also, loved getting an extra Wii controller since we have been unable to find one at any store near us. Good deal.
Simple Game - Great for small children

The best part of Wii play is the controller. Unless you have small children. My children really enjoy the Wii matching game and the tanks. There is something for everyone. This stuff reminds me of atari.

Since we were going to buy another wii-mote ($40) anyway, we figured we might as well get one that came with 9 games for just another $10. It was well worth it. The games aren't as fun as the Wii Sports but some are very addicting. Our favorites so far are the "duck-hunt" style shooting game, the cow-racing, and the fishing game.
I like the tanks too but it could be improved with more bubble-bobble-like gameplay, letting you re-start at the level you died on.
But overall, if you're in the market for another wii remote, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

Wii play is only worth your money if you buy it with the Wiimote. The game itself keeps you busy for about 5 minutes. There is no challenge, and Wii Sports is your best choice for a game to play with others. If you don't need a wiimote, dont waste your money.
Overall its worth it

The game itself isn't all that great and grows old within a month or two, but the extra wii remote kinda makes up for that

Buy this if you want a remote. Basically you get some cool Wii games the old folks can play for ten bucks and the price of a remote. Sure you trust gramps to your only copy of Paper Mario?
If you intend to show anyone the Wii who is over 10, get this; that way you both have controllers and they can learn something understandable to them.
good fun - easy stuff

this game is super easy to use and lots of variety in skill sets - my favorite is the air hockey... would recommend it for sure. I really needed another controller so good value for money.
It's ok as a buy a remote get a free game...

I wouldn't pay $25 for this game on its own, but I will probably get a remote and consider this a free game or a $10 game as others have said. It's a good way to pick up another remote, but there's really only a couple fun games on here (the cow races are hilarious as are the where's mii game) but it is growing on me so it's a higher rating than yesterday would have been.
The games are fun but not as fun as wii sports and far more simplistic. BUT, it is a good way to learn the remotes/controls since it's different that previous consoles.
I wish the games were more fun

I really enjoy cow racing, the tank game, and the duck hunting game. The second two bring back memories of the old Atari/Nintendo versions.
Some games are difficult and not very fun. I find it very hard to control where I am shooting in the pool game. It is too easy for the wii remote to go out of sensor range. The rotating stick figure game is quite challenging but isn't very fun. Fishing is so-so when playing solo, but with two players it is too hard to see what is going on. The laser hockey game is very difficult to control the paddle and I wind up knocking the puck into my own goal 70% of the time. I much prefer tennis in Wii Sports to the table tennis in Wii Play.
Overall it is of value because of the free remote the enjoyment of some of the mini games.
