DOA2 is a good fighting game for those of you who like Tekken 1-4 and DOA. This game has new levels and some new characters to play with. Although this game's main con is combos it won't take you very long to master them. Its ghapics are fine and it doesn't have blood and guts in it. I think this fine game to enjoy with your friends, but my friend said it might get old really fast... Nah.
Pretty good fun

This game is quite good as beat-em-ups go. It has a good cast of characters and I really only dislike a couple of them. The graphics are pretty darn good and the fighting styles excellent. There are several varieties of game play and alot of replay value.
The only things that I do not like are the story mood is disjointed and way to short. It never goes into any of the characters in any deapth and only offers bizarre one line comments throughout the game.
And 2, the bouncing aspects of the gals needs to be more. If you are in for a penny go in for a pound. This game is for an older audience anyway so add more bounce!!
anxiously waiting....

For starters im not some little 9 year old kid or some 40 year old guy who thinks everything is good/bad.To me graphics mean nothing neither does sound or voice acting. What matters to me is how fun a game is, how easy the control scheme is and how good the storyline is(only in the case of rpg's).I first played this game on my freinds dreamcast and what a blast it was. He kicked my butt the first few times but in no time at all i was playing just as well as he was. Im a big fan of soul caliber and a big fan of tekken tag tournament as well.(im a yoshimitsu fan in case anyones curious,10 hit combos hurrah!)Both games can be compared easly to this one. im currently waiting for my copy to arrive on my doorstep(waiting is the hardest part). It didnt take alot of skill to play this game but... the only ones who complain about skills are people who want an excuse for playing so poorly such as "oh you only won cause theres no skill involved)i just wanna know... if theres no skill involved why didnt they beat me?
so i give this game 5 stars and to all you who have gripes with this game, take ur ps2's put em on the ground and hit with a hammer repeatedly because you will never know what a good game looks like if you didnt enjoy this one.
Very Impressive

DOA Hardcore is one of the better fighting games on the PS2 but like all fighting games, it has it's draw backs.
The graphics are excellent, almost perfect. No shady pseudo dimensional graphics that when you get too close, they become a flat surface. The fights can go almost anywhere from down the side of a mountain to out of a Dojo to down balconies at the opera house.
The tagging options are phenomenol! The tag moves are not only impressive but just plain out fun to watch. And even the singles story mode is impressive.
The only reason I'm docking this game a star is because the endings for a lot of the characters are about as entertaining taking 2 thumb tacks (ya got em?). O.k. now that you have those thumb tacks, put them in your eyes and close your eyelids. The endings just didn't do it for me. A 5 second boring spot with your character doing something stupid (ex: Zach snowboarding down a hill? PLEASE!).
Other than that, get this game and have at it! Have fun!
Great Graphics! Story mode is [poor]!

This is a fun fighting game! Takes awhile to get use to the throwing your opponent and avoiding throws only to counter-throw, though. But that does help make the game more replayable. The graphics are GREAT! The story mode is [poor]!
I am one of those that enjoys getting all the costumes for all the players, so it is good that each player has 3 costume more costumes to unlock on top of the standard 2 you get at the beginning.
And yes, I do admit, the gals in the game are part of its attraction, let me say that up front. And it helps that the graphics are GREAT to help appreciate the gals in the game. I wish there were more hip male fighters though instead of only two (but I do like the old chinese fighter that seems pretty standard in most fighting games, though), I'm not fond of big and slow characters.
Well, if the gals in the game are any part of the attraction for you, the game play and graphics still warrant you getting this game. But again, there really is no story-line to follow which is disappointing.
If it's only the gals that you want to see, you may want to check out Dead or Alive XTreme Volleyball for the XBox (Hopefully they'll make a PS2 version since that's what I have but I've heard that there are no plans to do so - maybe I'll buy the game and wait to get the XBox cheap down the road!).
Superb, but there could be more than just exclusive secrets

Pros:
Superb Graphics
Plenty of modes
Great extras
Great gameplay
good voice acting
beautiful 3D arenas
The wemon, can't 4git them
Tag mode is better than Tekken's cuz u fight till the last man is out
nice replay value
Easily one of the best fighting games avalible
Cons:
So-So music
When u hit with a powerful move, sounds like a buildin fallin, pretty unrealistic sound effects
Story mode pretty much makes no sence
Wish it had a end movie gallery like Tekken
Only 14 characters? That ain't all that much
It's a port, with more extras, but all the cons could have been improved(well I dunno bout story mode, but everything else could'ave been improved). Still, this is a game that should be own by all fighting fans with a PS2.
I own both Tekken TT and DOA2. Tekken TT is better by far.

I bought DOA2 based on the good reviews on this board. What a waste of .... Just so you know my perspective, I'm not a hard core gamer, but I'm not a casual gamer either. I'm middle of the road. I can't do most of the hard combination moves of Tekken but I enjoy Tekken much better. Here's why. Tekken graphics are much better than DOA2. Tekken characters offer much more variety than DOA2. Tekken fighting offers much more depth than DOA2. Tekken audio is much better than DOA2. The only thing DOA2 offers over Tekken is the multi-level stages. That's kinda cool. Button mashing you say? While there are a couple of characters in Tekken who are effectively used with button mashing, the majority will not respond to such amateur tactics. However, DOA2 encourages button mashing because everyone's moves are so simple and in fact require pushing buttons fast repetitiously. The bottom line is I own both games. I only play Tekken Tag. I will be selling DOA2 soon. If you can't take my word for it, I strongly recommend you rent it or borrow it first before you buy. By the way, all this talk about DOA2's characters' physical appearance/proportions and their costumes are not up to hype and Tekken's characters are hotter than DOA2's characters.
Why is there no button to order this game????

This isn't a review! Why is there no button to buy this game or add it to my wish list? Or if it's not out yet, why is there no button to pre-order it?

best for PS2:this game is the best for the PS2. it has great graphics with detailed characters and levels. this is the perfect game for the hardcore gamer looking for a challenge. the combos are challenging and the game play is very fast. the four player mode beats all others with the tagteam. the characters are great with their own story and personality. the different martial arts are distinctive and creative.(Xavier)
upgraded streetfighter: streetfighter is a good game but DOA2 leaves it in the dust. the graphics are amazingly realistic. the characters include Bayman, a hitman, and Kasumi, a run away Shonobi.(Afro)
The Graphics were terrible

This game did have like 10 more stages then the dreamcast version which i like. but i think the graphics for this were terrible. if your going to buy this game buy the dreamcast version. the gameplay is alot more fun and the graphics are alot better. Plus if you havent gotten playstation 2 yet. dont worry about it, the system hasnt come out with good games yet.
