This game is a masterpiece. Here's why. the game has over 500 cars and over 30 bonus cars no earn and win. companies are Aston martin, renault, mercedes, honda, toyota, suzuki, shelby, chevrolet, ford, dodge, subaru, vector, and a ton more i am not remembering right now. The races are great, there are just gallons of those too. They are all real. laguna seca, super speedway, rome circuit, and over 20 more. there are rallies like smokey mountain, escudo peaks climb, etc. there are many rally cars to do these races.
Great for racing enthusiasts- Not so good for the gamer

As a racing enthusiast, this game is fantastic! Although the one complaint, as the same, is that there is no visual confirmation of damage to the cars, which translates to unreliable ideas of how your car may decrease in performance. Also, pitting should be more involved; either visually or interactively.
As a gamer, my biggest complaint is the potential for time spent on the game does not have an appropriate amount of music. Especially someone, like myself, who is also a music enthusiast.
Nevertheless, this is a superior driving game offering real feel driving characteristics.

I am a huge motorsports fan as well as motorsports gaming. And I have played nearly everything. But this game is a step above the rest. Real-life driving characteristics for each car. No shortage of competitive cars or tracks. You also can upgrade your car! You might think: " Yeah, you can do that on a lot of games." But not like this. Its the most detailed garage I have ever seen. The japanese cars can even be bought used. This game has rallying and everything. This game simply rates as the best racing simulation game ever made. Its even better than Gran Turismo 3.

Using the complete potentiality of the machine, Gran Turismo 2 is PlayStation racing at its best. Just the number of cars available makes it stand out of the crowd. You will love it or loathe it but it's the ultimate virtual advertisement with its shiny unbreakable cars.
Tuned-up version of the original Gran Turismo, a classic itself.

this game gots almost all the car companies and cars the best car company in the game is Toyota becuase of the Toyota GT ONE Road version & the 99'& 98' race cars the Toyota GT ONE is the lightest Race car in the world because it is under 2,000lb and fast on acceleration and top speed.I have this game and i got almost every car i got almost every GT ONE i just need the 99' Version the 98'Version is pretty cool because of the strips and Horsepower.the Viper GTS is pretty good but on a corner you spin out even when you take it slow on it so i dont use the Viper anymore. I've seen the demo onthe Viper and it doesn't got those writing on the tires like it does on the demo and thats strange if it got it on the wheels on the demo why on full version game the game is easy pluse i like the rally racing the GT ONE And the Susuki Escudo are the same top speed and acceleration but the horsepower is differnt.The 99laps race I race that on the 91 lap the race was over plus it is easier with the Escudo because of the GT ONE the Escudo does not turn good so take the turns slowly and carfully dont accelerate in the middle of the turn or you will spin out I've done this beforeso take it slow until you finish the turn then accelerate. plus im giveing hints even on raceses and turning.

Gran Turismo is one of hte worst racing games for Playstation1. Why? Because first, this is a RACING GAME not a RAILROAD SIM. Second, just because it has 300 million cars doen't mean they're cars you would want to drive, or even look at. Third, they wasted to much time getting all those stupid cars instead of oh I don't know, making it more fun to play.

With out a dout this is the best racing game to hit the planet. If you loved GT1, GT2 is the game to get, even if you didn't like the first one you will have to love this. With 600 cars, 60 licences this is hard to go past. This is definatly the game to get it's so much more than a sequal.

Realistic gameplay, cars and upgrades: GT2 is the best racing simulation game on the market right now. A great follow up to it's older sibling GT1 with tons of new added features... I just can't stop playing the game. If you are a racing game enthusiast or simulation or both you will love this wild ride.
