THE racing game for PSone

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

Okay, so it's a little old by now, but this rolls all over any racing game on PSone. Sadly, like most PSone games, the graphics aren't very good now. As I remember, GT2's graphics weren't even very good for their time. But the number and variety of cars is better than probably ten PSone racing games combined, and even the mighty GT3. It set a high standard which most games of even this generation struggle with. The opponent AI isn't as lifelike as, say, playing online, but at least you don't have some idiot constantly trying to spin you out. When one of those lame value-priced racing games shows up on shelves, I often ask myself why people can't just dust off any Gran Turismo game and have a lot more fun.

Its alright

I like this game alot its just it gets a little boring after awhile. You get lots of new cars and car manufactures. You get new tracks including dirt tracks. You get some good music and some cool endurance races where you rac for 100 laps. I like this game its just it gets boring after a few months because youll own alot of cars and race with em over and over and over but i like the way the game is realistic because of the upgrades for the cars like brakes and wheels and they give you a very long paragraph on how it works. Its a nice game but may get boring.

Excellent

This game is excellent and has lived up to the hype as being better than the first. So many cars and tracks to use and the gameplay is superb. A must for anyone interested in racing games.

A better game than this? Not likely!

I've been playing GT1 up to this date, and I thought there wouldn't be anything better. Little did I know that GT2 was on the way! GT2 has more cars than there was in GT1, and there are many more things to do. My personal favorite is any kind of RUF. Sure they can't handle any track on this game, but modified Porsche 911s are very tempting.

Hint:When racing in special races, the rules let you drive almost anything. The Luxury Sudan Cup is the perfect example, you can drive almost anything!

Only to be surpassed by GT3

If you have not spent the money on a PS2 and you want the most realistic driving experience you can have without endangering peoples lives, including yours, this is the game for you. The best way to experience the true sensation of driving is with a first class wheel and pedal set, like Mad Catz 2. I have a PS and a PS2. I bought Ridge Racer 5 a couple of months ago and have not touched it in over a month. Even though I completed GT2 more than 6 months ago, I keep going back to it. It is that much fun. Also, I am keeping my skills honed while waiting for my GT3 to arrive in mid-July. By the way, I am not some pimple faced kid telling you this is wonderful because I don't know anything else. I am a 54 year old grandfather who has had many toys to play with over the years. I also enjoy MS Flight Simulator, Combat Flight Simulator on my PC, but they crash a lot. And I don't mean the planes.

If you have a PlayStation, GT2 is a must have game.

Didnt think it could get any better!

I didn't think Gran Turismo could get ant better, and after the maddening delays, I have no doubt it was well worth the wait! The new tracks keep the game interesting. The graphics and controls are the biggest improvement. With nearly 600 cars it won't get boring anytime soon. And the preview movie on the arcade disc, is outstanding. Gran Turismo is the best driving game ever!

If you liked GT1, you'll love GT2...

Bar none the best racing game on the market. Spectacular selection of automobiles from car makers all over the world, realistic driving, and sick number of races. This game is as entertaining weeks after you buy it as it is the first day you own it. I didn't think GT1 could be topped, it was.

Gran Turismo 2 is simply put the best racing game available for playstation. The cars and tracks are true to life, and offer an incredible array of options for evey skill level. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes to drive. GT2 has a wide variety of cars to choose from. You can drive everything from a Cooper Mini to a Pikes Peak hill climb Suzuki Escudo and eveything in between. Try GT2 and see for yourself why it is the best racing game ever made for playstation.

Until a few months ago Gran Turismo was one of the best racing games ever. That changed when GT2 came out. From the start of the game, with it's spectacular intro, to the new 2player rallies, this game will not get old. With it's arcade and simulation modes, you too will find yourself playing for four hours at a time. Its got 21 tracks and almost every car you can think of. My only quarl is that Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porche are not in it. But hey, what would be left for GT3? :)

THE BEST!

If you are an automobile enthusiast, this is just what the doctor ordered. With its virtually perfect physics engine, and countless number of cars to fill your garage with. The past month of playing this treasure has made me content. I can only say driving the real deals may only give you more joy. I recomend this to every red blooded American gear head. My rating is 10 out of 10 for the ultimate in driving realism, tuning, race tracks, AI, and everything else to the 100th power. THE BEST!
