ATTENTION: RESIDENT EVIL FANS!

Dino Crisis is a GREAT new game out from Capcom. For all you DIE-HARD Resident Evil fans like me, GO NOW and get it! The only draw-back in Dino Crisis is that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to beat without a guide to help you through those HARD puzzles. Anyways go out and get it, NOW! , you'll thank me after you play it for your first time.

Alright...not great...

This game, as most people agree who played it, is a cross between Jurassic Park and Resident Evil. Unfortunately, it is nowhere near as good. The weapons are decent and the graphics are better than average, but this game is monotonous! There is no way to skip past the long, boring dialogue as with Resident Evil 3. It can be downright painful at times. With the weapons you get, you would figure there would be more dinosaurs, i.e. more action...wrong. This game is about puzzle solving. Big Deal! Don't get me wrong; it has its moments. My advice would be to rent it at your local video store before buying it and find out for yourself. Then you'll know I was right.

Decent Game...

I'm not a Resident Evil fan in general. I played Resident Evil 2 and finished it, but was far more impressed by the Silent Hill series. Dino Crisis however I found rather entertaining: there are pleanty of puzzles to keep you thinking while moving throughout the game. I finished it in two days (probably 6 hours playtime or so) and I'm not the best puzzle solver in the world.

Don't look for anything new, this is basically just Resident Evil with dinosaurs (no more or less advanced.) But as a non-Resident Evil fan I was able to enjoy this game. My only complaint is really aimed at these games in general... these games really need to work harder, the old "find 10 keys" just doesn't do it anymore. All they do is make you go back and forth over the same map unlocking a door only to have to fly back to the other side of the map to unlock another door... why not change it up some, or retire the survival-horror series in general?

Best survival horror game for PSX

If you like the Resident Evil series and Jurassic Park, this is your game! This game is the whole reason I wanted Playstation! My favorite game. The action is realistic and very scary. That T-Rex was an incredible enemy! Get this game.

Good at all the wrong things

The atmosphere is fun, the graphics are among the best you canfind, Regina is cooler than poor Jill Valentine, the acting is wayahead of RE 1/2/3 (which isn't saying much) and the first few dinos you meet are pretty scary. Everything else is weak. Lots of puzzles is a good idea, but the puzzles here are too pointless, and the monsters don't remain scary or dangerous (in fact some of them are cute, and you feel terrible wasting them or tormenting them with the laser fences). I'm determined to wring all the endings out of it because I want a bit more for my money, but it is not really engaging either in terms of plot or adrenalin. And the inability to skip the interminable dimwit animated dialogue clips is infuriating. Why don't these people get it?

If Silent Hill is the gold standard for interest, character, action and playability (too bad about the incoherent plot!), RE 2 is silver, and Dino Crisis is about with RE 1 and RE 3 --low silver, high bronze.

If you like to shoot dinos this is Not your game. It looks like a good game, but I like action games and this game is just full of puzzles. You only fight 1-2 dinos about every 15-50 minutes. If you want a game that has Dino shooting action then get Dino Crisis 2. In Dino Crisis 2 it is none stop action, you kill about 12 Dinos every minute, and their are two times more dinos in Dino crisis 2 then in Dino Crisis, And their are about three times more Weapons too(And the wepons are so cool, like when you have one machine gun in each hand at the same time you are able to shoot two different Dinos at the same time). So if you like hard core shooting games(rock on) then get Dino crisis 2, but if you like puzzles(ZZZZZZZZZZZ) then get Dino Crisis.

The atmosphere of this game is very much like the movie Jurassic Park. The dinosaurs are vicious and cunning, and the events in the game are well paced so you don't lose interest. There is decent variety in the puzzles, and the game gives you choice points where you can decide whether to skip some puzzles and open numerous cans of whuppass! While I think it falls short of games like Metal Gear Solid in terms of innovation and originality, it is still a great game that will make it hard for you to tear yourself away from the Playstation.

Decent, but not really worth it

I purchased Dino Crisis as one of my first Play Station games. Although the graphics are pretty well done, it gets old quickly. You are running the character around the station more than anything else. There are very few dinosaurs to shoot, and it is very confusing at first. Honestly, it's more trouble than its worth.

Dino Crisis Is a great game from Capcom, which also produces the Resident Evil series. This game plays much like RE2, with dinosaurs in place of zombies. the plot is laid out very well and seems to flow. There are several heart stopping scenes in the game, most notably the T-Rex chase sequences. If you love the Resident Evil series you won't be disappointed by this game. If you are a first timer in this genre, you will be pleasantly blown away by the game

Resident Evil fans will love this ie: those who don't mind the fact that there aren't too many things to kill too often. It is very much a 'puzzle' game and I found the challenge of cracking codes etc. quite rewarding, although it would have been a 5 star game had the Dinos' been a bit scarier and had there been more of them.It is however, thoroughly riveting and I'm looking forward to Dino Crisis 2!
