When I got this game I was really up for it. I was in the middle of FFXII, buit decided to start on FFX. I had started to play it on my nephew's system a year or so ago. Anyway, I ended up with a PS2 and decided to get my own copy and start over. The graphics were 5 star as was the storyline. The design was poor. It was over balanced in so far as the number of battles. You could barely move without getting into another tussle. You start to walk up and talk to someone or get ready to open a chest and another battle. After about 49 Hrs. of this, I finally gave it up and took the thing to the used game store. My nephew, who lives to do battle, said it was way too much for him and it slowed down to a crawl. I ended up with 48:50 in the game and I was in the main corridor of the Al Bhed place. I couldn't move forward because of one battle after another. By this time the game had quit being fun and enjoyable. That was almost 49 Hrs. invested for nothing (it went to the used game store). Again, had they balanced out the game between moving the story along and the occasional battle/boss battle, it would have been enjoyable. Bottom line is that this game is heavily loaded with constant battles with hardly any down time in between. Great Concept, poor execution. Charlie S. Richmond Va.

This is probably my favorite Final Fantasy game other than FF7.
Voice acting is superb, story is engaging, graphic is awesome (for PS2).
Most addicting FF game yet

Wow. You couldn't ask for more in a game! The graphics are amazing throughout the entire game, but the cutscene's are absolutely incredible. I could not believe it when I saw them!
The plot was great as well (dark at times), containing many twists and turns. I found that the very beginning was a little lacking, but then again I haven't especially liked any Final Fantasy beginning and they've all turned out to be great.
I loved the music. I don't think it had the best of the FF series, but it definately set itself apart from the others. (I personally loved FFVI's music).
I just loved the entire game. It may very well be my favorite game of all time! The whole game just blew me away. I HIGHLY recommend it.
great game. unbelievingly WONDERFUL!

this is a perfectly flawless game . it has great graphics and big , lush, colorful environments. the plotline is great , and so are the characters.it has very much secrets and unlockables in it , and a huge replay value. it also has many good mini games .it was a very long and hard game, and i really liked that , because there aren't too many games like that today. there's also many sidequests and challenges to do other then the main game. so, if your looking for a perfect RPG with a HUGE replay value that is VERY , VERY VERY fun, buy this game right now ! a simply must buy !
best game ever!

this game was the best! The storyline was great, music was wonderful and so were the images! Gameplay was fun and i guess everything about it was too. Sometimes, this game could be difficult but otherwise, you'll be in love with it and play it over and over just to see the storyline. The movies are especially dramatic and the love scene at the river was great! Another good scene was when Tidus finds out Yuna has to die. I cried!

I got so tired reading the reviews and seeing people complaining abot the long cutscenes and the like. . . . have ya ever played Xenosaga: Der Wille zur Macht? I was watching my brother play that, that game has long cutscenes.
Now I'm that I'm done with that.
Ok, obviously, this game isn't Metroid Prime good or Halo 2 good or Half-Life 2 good, but really? Is all that bashing in some of the reviews really neccessary? I mean, for what it's worth, it's a pretty decent game. It has decent graphics, and pretty decent battle system, granted I preferred the level up system to the sphere grid, but I got use to it after awhile. Yes the cutscenes are just a tad long but I got used to long cutscenes after Metal Gear Solid 2.
All in all, the combat and everything is pretty decent, the V.O. could have been better, but I'm not complaining too much.
Just Amazing

Well, firstoff, Final Fantasy X (FFX) is my first FF game. I started it out, and I didn't really get the plot. It is a bit confusing in the beginning, but once you get the Besaid and meet Yuna, Lulu, Wakka, and Kimahri, I guarantee you, the game gets better. It is a great story, the plot is amazing, I never got bored of it. The villian is easy to hate, and the hero(es) easy to love, the FMV's are great, and the music, for the most part is good; although the battle music made me go crazy at times. The graphics, especially those "special graphics" when something important happens and the graphics get awesome, and amazing. The normal graphics are okay, but what can you do. The map is useful, and I have to say, the Cloister of Trials were mostly annoying. I suggest using a internet guide throughout the game. It will help you with your battles (which is pretty much what the game is, I assure you), and with the Cloisters. Leveling up is also a huge factor in the game. While it is excruciatingly annoying at times, it was nessicary for me. The sidequest...well, there aren't many. Blitzball I hate because I'm so bad at it, same goes for Chocobo training. They do make the game funner, and I usually played Blitzball if a certain boss was annoying me...just to get my mind off of it. Well. I think that's about it. I rate the game 4 stars overall because it was really fun to play, but the level-ups, constant battles, and cloister of trials annoyed me to no end. I highly reccommend this game to anyone who likes RPG games.
*SPOILERS*
Tidus and Yunas romance was adorable, but my only complaint is that they should have showed more of it than just at the middle and the end.
The ending was very sad. I got teary...I'm getting FFX-2, just for kicks.
Seymour is evil...I wanted to sock him for kissing Yuna. He's just a great villan. We hate you Seymour!

This game is an excellent debut onto the ps2 for the final fantasy series. I had to get used to the voice acting (not as much rading off of the screen) because it was new to me...and the plot was great and had a powerful message. The only problems were the sphere grid. I liked having the choice of which role the character should play..but removing the traditional "leveling up" system was kind of drastic. This game also makes stealing very important..to customize weapons. Another problem was the fact that the voices wouldn't play with the moouth movements. This game takes about 50 hours or less to beat, but many would want to continue with all the sidequests and completeing the sphere grid.
Overall, this game was really fun, even though the new battle or character development system takes some getting used to...so go out and get it!
blah me, yeah me, couldn't be, yeah it's me

final fantasy x is ok until like mid-way through. the voice overs get worse with each passing scene, the plot gets lamer and lamer, and there's only like one half-decent character in the entire game, and he's dead! well, ok, so final fantasy x is ok at best! :D and ok works for many people other than meeeeeee ........
The Best Game Ever

I am not a kid, and this is the only way to make a review anonymous, so I did it like this. (...)
As a newbie RPGer, I really didn't care which FF I got. On Ebay, I got this one and began playing it! God, this one is addictive. I haven't finished yet, so I'm hooked on trying to beat it.
The graphics are positively gorgeous. However, when they go realistic on Tidus and Yuna, they kinda look ugly. But that's all. Oh, and in the way beginning, there is this girl who has two left arms and one right one. Look closely. She is a brunette with a purple shirt with bell sleeves. She's waving her hands around. Look for her ^_^!! 9.7/10
The characters are excellent, though Tidus's angst can get annoying though. They are all believeable characters with believeable personalities, and they don't randomly act like completely different people (I've played many games when the main character has to drastic a split personalities). The voice acting is great, but sounds a bit acted sometimes and sometimes the voice to graphic flow is a bit rough. 9.2/10
The plotline is nice and exciting. Well, at least I think it is. No complaints ^_^!!! 10/10
The fiends are very well nicely made, and they get harder as you go farther, which is nice when you need experience and gil (the currency). They are challenging, which is good. You may get fustrated (I have) when you can't get past something due to a type of fiend, but its all worth it when you here that victory music. 10/10
The game is difficult. It is challenging, but rewarding when you beat something really hard. It may take a few tries to beat certain things, but its all worth it. 10/10 (for a good challenge).
The controls are easy to use, but there is something called the sphere gride that I dont understand. I've gone over the tutorial a billion times and don't get it. I'm going to go back over it soon!! 7/10
According to my calculator, the adds up to 9.3/10. But I think that it deserves like a 1000000000000000000000000/10!! It is the greatest game I've every played. Forget everyone who doesn't like it, and buy it! You'll thank me.
^_^ A FFX Lover ^_^
