HORRIBLE "GAME"

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 3 / 10

Worst Final Fantasy ever! If you want a game to play, go get Metroid Prime or some other action game, or even another RPG! If you want a game where you have 5 minutes of gameplay to 10 minutes of cinematics and an absolutely linear story-line, you might actually like this trash of Squaresoft's.

What is there to say? It's Final Fantasy

If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you're going to play this game.

If you're not a Final Fantasy fan, probability is you won't ever play a FF game.

Point is only a true Role Play Gamer would like this game. And if you are a true Role Play gamer... You've probably already beaten this game... MULTIPLE TIMES!

It's that good of a game, If you are reading this review, stop wasting time and get the game so you can enjoy the fun!

Bad fantasy.

Please note that the 2 stars is on the Final Fantasy scale in the sence that it's still pretty good, but that there are much better episodes out there (like 7 and 8).

Though the voices are a necessary change from the old word boxes, some of the narration sounds like the narration in "The Wonder Years," which often take some of the seriousness from the storyline. Some of the voices are good, like Lulu and Auron, but Yuna is downright bad. It sounds frequently like she's reading right of the script for the first time. And, with Tidus's over-the-top personality, his voice begins to grate on you as well. I still welcome it though, because it makes life easier not having to read; they just need to find some better actors and characters.

The new battle-systems gave me mixed feelings. The good part is that you can change characters at any point in the battle. The bad part is that only Yuna can summon the aeons, only Lulu can use black magic and so on.

One of the better parts of this episode is the new sphere grid that allows you to advance your characters. I have yet to fully understand the old systems, so even though this one took some time getting used to, it's alot easier (though I latched onto how to do it a bit too far in the game, so I may just be skrewed).

As I mentioned earlier, alot of the characters are below average as far as the FF series is concerned. There are two specifically that are just the worst and they are the two main characters: Tidus and Yuna. To be honest, I couldn't care less about their tepid romance, and it got me all excited when we find out that to defeat Sin she has to die (don't worry, this is not a spoiler: the news comes mid-way throught the story and it isn't really surprising).

The plot is average as FF's go. Typical battle plot against the backround of a developing romance of the two main characters. Not much shocking stuff happend here, because it's been done before.

Overall, I'd recomend you buy this anyway, if for no other reason but the improved movies and graphics in general, and to have a 'Fantasy' for the PS2 platform. I also think you'll get a kick out of the voices (they're pretty funny after awhile).

This was overall a very good game, it has a variety of side missions, and unlockable secrets. All character in the game serve a purspose in battle and fufill the game. The graphics
and summons are simply awesome. However, there was something
missing from the game that I can't quite put my finger on. Normally I get addicted to rpg's, but this one never really hooked me in like ff7,chrono trigger,or terrinigma. For rpg lovers it's a must play.

Going back to the roots...

I love this game. It is probably the best FF and why? Well, let me explain:

GRAPHICS: 50/10 Really great. It looks very realistic. I also like how this looks more fun and more closeups and better looking characters. (unlike the other FFs) and Yuna is hot!

CHARACTERS: 10/10 really good. I like Tidus and Yuna together and especially when they kiss I love it...

WEAPONS: 10/10 Great weapons, like Jecht's sword (which Tidus uses) and Wakka's blitzball.

STORY: 10/10: Lots of people disagree but I think It has the best storyline in the FF series.

MUSIC: 10/10: Really good. If there is a soundtrack I'm SO TOTALLY BUYING IT!

DIALOUGE: 1/10: LAME!!! From Wakka's "Can you do that move one more time?" and Lulu's "If you interfere with yuna, we won't take it lightly!" plus the Dialouge tone is corny and lipsynch is annoying but it was made by Japanese people so you know why.

So I recomend this to all FF fans.

The best of the best!

Well, anyone who own's the PSone most probably has any of the older titles of squaresoft's final fantasy saga (VII, VII, or IX). And to noone's surprize this game was a great hit in japan since it's release in july! It got a rating og 39/40 in a certain mag i read, and i am not surprized! This game will truely surpass all the rest of the previous titles, in graphics, gameplay and most certainly the fun of it all. It has a lifspan of 50+ hours, which'll keep you hooked for quite a while! The main difference between this title and the others is that the characters actually speak! so forget about reading tons and tons of sentences when you could just listen to the characters! I'd recommend any PS2 owner to preorder this one, cause this is one of the games that'll make PS2 sales sky rocket! Do yourself a favor and buy final fantasy X as soon as possible, cause there wont be any copies left within the hour it is released in the states! Good luck getting your copy of this fantastic game and i promise that youll have a great time playing it!

Boooooooooring...

If I wanted to play Final Fantasy 10, I could have just played FF7 instead. Since FF7 there has been little to no difference in the games. The tiring cutscenes that you can't skip, the plotlines that will make you yawn and the (much ballyhooed) graphics are just a spit shine on a tennis shoe that [got scuffed]. No, I don't like this game or it's predecessors. If you want to play Final Fantasy, go rent a movie instead. It takes less time, isn't as boring and won't frustrate you with repetiveness. Or play a pre FF7 game...

Just another sheer masterpiece, that's all.

Sometimes it seems pointless to bother reviewing FF titles. Such a huge segment of the gaming community has already made up their minds about the series. There are the loyal fans who have been more than satisfied by the previous FF games, and on the other hand there are those who seem to resent Final Fantasy, claiming that it's overrated, undeserving of the mountains of accolades it's garnered over the years. This goes out to those who fall in between, those who have never played an FF game, or those who have and weren't quite sure what to make of it.

First of all, I want to say that FF10's story impressed me immensely. FF4 was simplistic, but in 1991 it was the most sweeping and grandiose epic ever told in an RPG. FF6 had more emotional impact than any game that came before it. FF7's story was amazingly complex and perhaps the most compelling and propulsive, but it was also a tad overly convoluted, and many found the ending unsatisfying or hard to swallow. As much as I loved FF8, the story simply didn't have as much of an impact on me as the previous ones did. It was a nice love story, nothing more. FF9 was good, but offered nothing that seemed too earth shattering. At last, FF10... I believe this to be bar none the greatest story every told in a Final Fantasy game. It's complex yet crystal clear, with great inter-character relationships and development. I say it's easily the most emotionally affecting FF of them all. By far. I can almost guarantee you'll like every character. The voice acting isn't perfect, but it's certainly above average, and better than I was expecting.

On the gameplay front... Here's some irony for you: a lot of fans have complained that the characters in recent FF games are "too generic." That they don't have enough unique abilities. The reason this is ironic is that there have been only TWO FF games involving hardset non-customizable characters: FF4 and FF9. FF1, FF2, FF3, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, and FF Tactics, EVERY SINGLE OTHER FF GAME HAS FEATURED HEAVILY CUSTOMIZABLE CHARACTERS, where YOU are in control of who has which abilities. Well, FF10 has struck a great balance. The Sphere Grid system is a method that gives each character their own set of unique abilities, but if you INISIST on giving the characters the same abilities as another, you can. But not without penalty. Each character is on their own "growth track." If you move one off of their growth track and onto someone else's, you're sacrificing their higher level abilities, until you decided to backtrack, which is a pain. You're better off letting them stay on track and let them remain unique until they reach their track's end. By this time the game will be nearly over. However, FF10 is packed to the gills with sidequests and optional uber-bosses to fight, so there will still be plenty of motivation to keep the growth going.

The battle system has been greatly retooled. Since FF4, FF games have used "Active Time Battle" or ATB, which means that characters must wait a certain amount of time before they can take a turn. This resulted in lots of dead-time, sitting there doing nothing for several seconds while you waited for someone's ATB gauge to fill up. No longer. FF10 features CTB. Can't remember what it stands for, but suffice to say there is NO dead time whatsoever in FF10's battles. As soon as one character uses their turn, the next character can take their turn instantly. The battles have a very dynamic feel to them now.

I'd comment on the graphics, but a picture is worth 1000 words. You're on the internet... pics are at your fingertips if you want to see them. You'll probably be impressed.

Personally, my favorite FF game has been a toss up between FF6 and FF7 for over four years now. My indecision was really getting on my nerves. Thanks to FF10, I don't have to think about it anymore.

Best. Final Fantasy. Ever.

This is a good game whether you think so or not

Final Fantasy games are like coffee, they're an aquired taste. Some people say that FFX is a good/bad game. I think, in my opinion, that it is a good game. Honestly, i don't notice the voice acting and i didn't really care. If your that stuck up on the voice acting, that's your problem. The game play is straight forward enough for anyone to get a handle of. The battle system is great, the tag-team feature from FFIX is back and improved. The graphics are mind blowing comapred to the other games in the series. Even though the world is not as explorable as it has been in the other games, it gives a sort of realism to how this is a huge world in which everything is to scale. So to sum up, if you enjoyed the other FF games, you'll enojoy one.
