I have been waiting for diablo 2 since i beat the original. Blizzard did not let me or the other millions of millions of gamers down. Diablo 2 is the Game of the Year. No other games need to come out and try to beat it. If you never played the original, buy it and Diablo 2 at the same time. Beat the first one, then try you luck against a more powerful array of enemies. The only thing i suggest (other than buy this game) is buy the strategy guide. Trust me it helps.

alright lets get down to the facts I just got this game 5 days ago it's a really great game but the problem is that it really has a lot of bugs sure you can download the patches but it doesn't help i downloaded all the patches and i still have problems. here are some of the problems: sometimes when i have the disk in the drive and i click on the diablo2 icon it says please insert diablo 2 play disk and press ok, and then sometimes the disk door won't even come out when the disk is in it,and then i have lost a level 12 barbarian for some reason and that got me mad. so my advice is just get it it's a great game and i mean with a game as big as it theres gonna be some bugs so it's a great game and get it.
system requirements for just single player: windows 2000,98,95,and NT. pentium,233mhz, 32MB ram, 600MB available on hard drive space, and 4x cd-rom drive. thanks for reading this and see ya! :-)

This game is a huge improvement over Diablo I, but is not without flaws. The familiar life/magic orbs remain, as do the puzzle-like inventory and belt systems. The gameplay is far better than its predecessor- items are now easier to locate, walking/running can be permanently toggled, and everything is easier to see. The lighting is improved as well, thanks to some hardware enhancements- this removes those annoying segmented areas of light as seen in Diablo I. For those with hardware acceleration, there is a perspective option that skews the bitmaps for an interesting effect. (This does result in some image degradation and a pixelated look.) The CG animations at the end of each Act are very well done, and give a reason for playing if you have none. You no longer have to load between areas as in Diablo I, and the new waypoint system makes exploring far easier and less infuriating. Five character classes rather than three also make the game more fun. It takes a while to play through all of them.
Some things Blizzard left unchanged. The resolution is a pitiful 640 by 480. I found nothing wrong with the color depth- nothing seemed bland or bad looking. The game does really weird things when it comes to caching textures. If you haven't done somthing in a while- like kicking a barrel- the game freezes for a second or two while it loads the animation. For a game that's not very high resolution, I found this texture hang-up pretty strange.
Overall, this is a good game. If you liked Diablo, buy it. It has some problems, but it still managed to keep me in one spot for very long time periods.
Who needs anything else?

When I first got Diablo II, I was borrowing it from my dear friend, snickering lightly to myself "Diablo II? well what could they have possibly changed in a point and click? give me Daggerfall anyday." I was in for a great suprise. The new choice of charactors, for example, was wonderful. The gameplay was better with the edition of the charactor points and the plot was much more involving. I am not embarrassed to admint that I didnt get any sleep those first 48 hours, which is not a good thing since my boss fired me for giving some kid a vanilla shake when he asked for a burger. But is a job at a fast food joint really any competition to Diablo II? The answer is no, there is NO competition.
BUY IT...
NOW...
WHY HAVENT YOU BOUGHT IT YET?!?!?!?!

In the annals of software history never have so few done so much for so many! Beats Half-life by a mile!
Good, but not great. Had a tough act to follow.

This game is the continuation of the (in my opinion) the best RPG of its time. You have little choosing of your path, and little character development, but you WILL spend countless hours playing it. Finding items, killing monsters, taking in the ultimate of evil in the ever growing David and Goliath saga. If you played Diablo 1, this is a 3. If you never played Diablo 1, this is a 7 or 8. Diablo One was a complete triumph, this one, is a good game, but had to live up to Star Wars: Episode One like hype. If you overhype something, it will inevitably be doomed to fail. The bad news, Blizzard wanted to release all language versions at one time to limit bootlegging, thus allowing avid fans to gossip and speculate, ruining the game theoretically. Buy it. Its good. You'll beat it, you'll say you have, you'll move on. Its a good game, just overhyped and underdone. Could have been better, and less like Diablo 1. AWESOME STORY/PLOT LINES! Its worth a pick-up.
When will they start making the expansion?

This is the a must-have for all RPG gamers out there. I've been to hell and back and still craving for more.
I was a little frustrated at first because of the new save system(you can't explicitly save it) but overtime you'll get the hang of it. And I thought that the saving system was good because you will have the option to go over your enemies again or to skip them if you already did the last time you played not like in the first diablo. My point is you can gain more experience. Also you won't lose anything if you put it on your stash or your inventory before you end the game. There are a lot of waypoints w/c you can activate. The next time you play you can start from the last waypoint you activated. So the save system isn't that bad at all.
The story line is good too. The best part of diablo2 is your never-ending(well it's actually up to you) search for the best items either online or offline. All in all this is a great game....really.
So now that i've finished the game, I know that there's an expansion and I sure will be coming back for more diablo2 gaming goodness.
Diablo 2. The long awaited title....

I went like "yahoo" when i heard that Dialbo II would come out. Actually, i went to a mutlimedia store at around 12 am just to buy the game. I was nr 5 in the whole city to buy the game : ) I really enjoyed the first one, so i was really excited to try the new one.
The game-graphics has been greatly improved and all new characters have been added, great movies and a much better storie-line. All this and then the music. Now thats someting to write about. It has just been lifted to the skies.
But that doesnt change that it only took me about 3 days to complete the game (in normal). Pretty weak. And the graphics aren't that good. I personally think that Blizzard are a little to lazy, if it took them so long to make the game. But. Still the game is still one of the best in this year, so go out. AND BUY IT. The only sane thing to doo...
Awesome Game!

This is one of the BEST games I have played. It's combination of a great storyline, awesome cut scenes, and the brilliant random dungeons, keeps me playing. It is EXTREMELY addictive, I have found myself up untill 3 AM or later playing this game on Battle.net. The only con is that Blizzard's Battle.net and realms systems are very lagged during peak times of the day. This can lead to VERY lagged game play. I would suggest they get some more servers to handle the load of users. When it isn't lagged, internet multiplayer is my suggestion of how to play Diablo II.
Diablo II is one of the best RPGs EVER !!!!

Diablo II is amazing!!! Not only are the graphics 20x better than the original this game actually surpasses the first plot wise which very few games can do. While the first Diablo was mainly about saving the small town of tristrem and saving the kings lost son this one was much more envolved. Mainly this Diablo game is about how the character from the first game (the dark wonderer) transforms into diablo (you have to see the end of the first diablo to know why he does) and he is getting together with his brother Baal and Mephesto to turn the world of the living to an eternal outpost of HELL. Only the powers of one mortal assisted somewhat by the angel of light Terial can destroy the soulstones and stop the 3 prime evils from ever returning to the world of the living. This is one game that is not to be missed if you love an intriguing plot along with alot of gore and killing of monsters make sure to pick up Diablo II today trust me YOU WILL LOVE IT!!
