This is a great game,the expantion is even better, hard to believe i know, but true. You have 4 character choices and many unique ways to raise them. You can choose what skills they learn, and how effective/powerful those skills are. There are 4 different worlds, 21 quest, 4 endworld bosses, and literally THOUSANDS of items to choose from, this large selection comesfrom the ability to find items with magical abilities, yes yes...you equip your character with armor, boots, helms, gloves, magical amulets an rings, and as youve heard, the weapons. In the first 3 worlds you can hire a mercenary to follow you around and kill the hell spawn you miss.

Great game. The expansion set is also great, giving you more stuff. Great new characters too. the druid with the grizzly bear is one powerful character!

For this game, you basically have to go on line if you wwant it to be fin but other wise it is awsome.

If you like to shop then this game is for you. The basic idea is you kill something, then shop for items to make it easier to kill the next thing. Happy shopping!

What really hits you when you start playing Diablo 2 is that it is unlike any other RPG on the market. When you look at it, compared to say... Baldur's Gate 2, Balder's Gate, Fallout, Fallout 2, Icewind Dale, or even the original Diablo. Is that this game plays at a much faster pace. To be truthful, Diablo 2 takes a different approch. Many of the other RPGs put heavy emphasis on their story, but then ignore the battle engine. What good is that? Expecially when you realize that every best-selling RPG has at least 50% of game play owed to combat? What Blizzard Entertainment did with Diablo 2 is amazing. Unlike The other RPGs, Diablo 2 recagnizes the importants of both story and and combat, blending the two elements to create a game which plays more like a FPS, than a RPG.

When it works, this is the greatest game I've ever played. But there are 2 major things wrong. The real fun of this game is BattleNet multiplayer action. Unfortunately, BattleNet is down once in a while (when I have the time to play) or it goes down in the middle of a game. Then there's bad lag often. Or when they delete one of your characters even when you've played it more recently than the stated 90 day period. Yet, I remain hopeful that these things will get better.

But the BIGGEST problem is what they've done with CD-ROM copy protection. Because of it, the game can take a long time to start, or not start at all. Many times it says that I don't have the CD in even when I do. ...have the ORIGINAL CD in the drive. I suspect that's why this game crashes more than any other I've ever run. Under Windows 98 it crashed A LOT. ...less under Windows 2000. (Mac users won't have the copy protection problem.)

I'm noticing more game CDs that I can't make backup copies of. It's no coincidence that those same games are the ones that crash or hang on startup (when they check for non-standard sectors on the CD, I presume). I think game manufacturers should have to put a warning on non-standard CDs.

CAUTION: EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE!! MOST FUN YOU'LL EVER HAVE.

This game is incredible. You will become very addicted to this game once you play it and get the hang of it. It's extremely competitive on Battle.net. Battle.net, of course to me, is the whole main thing about this game. You will get extremely BORED to death if you play Single PLayer. If you play on Battle.net, you can build up your character and compete with other people around. The items are very fun to find because you always want to show off what you have to people and your friends. All in all, get this game if you like RPG style. Even if you don't like RPG, just give it a try and it'll pull you in immediately!!

The game is very good. IT had great graphics and 5 awesome characters. It was 50 bucks but it was worth the money!!!

This is the most awesome game I've ever played!!! I played it at a friends house and was instantly caught in the trap. I've played other bizzard games (Starcraft, Broodwar, Warcraft) , but none come close. This is what you get from programers who actually want to do their job. This game features a unique way to advance skills, 5 awesome characters, and huge worlds full of monsters. If I were you I'd get this game.
