A Great Improvement

You remember that game Diablo? You know, the original. That was the one with the repetitive dungeons and tiny overworld that bored you to death after about 3 days of playing. That was the one that, after realizing that there wasn't gonna be some kind of twist that sent you into another land (besides Tristram), you shut it off in disgust. What sums up Diablo? One word. Repetetive.

Well, someone must have slipped Blizzard the word, cause they definately improved all that with the release of Diablo II. You start in a Rogue Encampment, which is about the size of the town of Tristram. At first I thought, here we go again. But then I entered the Blood Moor... then the Cold Plains... then the Burial Grounds... and at that point I realized that Diablo II takes place on a massive overworld with dungeons scattered throughout, instead of being piled on top of one another. I completed the first quest, and now I am already addicted to a game that I really didn't expect much from.

Don't listen to reviews that call Diablo II a game identical in gameplay to the original. Heck, I am about 2% into the game and already I have been through more of an overworld than 100% of the original.

BUY THIS GAME!

I've played this game for sometime now on the PC and let me just say that this is one addicting game. Sure, the graphics aren't incredible, but the gameplay REALLY shines. Awesome, awesome stuff. This is Blizzard's fastest conversion from PC to Mac, and is a good step in the right direction for Blizzard. Pre-order this game now! It will keep you up for weeks!

Low Tech and Boring

Sadly I played Deus Ex, Sims and Rune before I got this game and it felt like I went back to 1994 in game play technology.

The idea of an army of cloned creatures coming at you on a flat plane while you blast your ever more boring weapons at them is sort of like playing those 80's D&D games on a 386.

The multiplayer is nothing more than a fashion show with all these characters sporting their new feathered hat or pin stripe magic wand. So, so dull. I hope Diablo 3 is more like Asherons Call.

THE GAME HAS BUGS

I have been looking on Google for the past days. Most people said the game had bugs on it. Lots of people said their charaters were stolen on Battle.net. Also fantasy games are stupid. The game is not worth how much it costs.

boring...boring...boring....

This is an arcade style game...more like Pac Man than a real RPG. Well, I think the word I am looking for that best describes this game is....

This game (although somewhat old now) get's the 2001 Bytronix game of the Year award. For whatever that's worth. My personal favorite game at present. Be sure to get the expansion as well.

This game was pretty good, but I had to quit playing in preparation for the Y2K scare.

Best Game Ever

Diablo II is easily the greatest computer game ever except for possibly counter-strike, but that is in a whole different genre. People who critize this game for being a simple hack and slash game are probably the same people who play a game for 5 minutes and if they dont like it, return it, and complain to everyone they know how its the worst game ever. If u try to play Hardcore Mode, where if ur guy dies, hes gone permanently, by just clicking the mouse over and over, ur guy is gonna be dead by level 12. The game requires immense strategy and item choice. U must make sure u make the right skill choices throughout the game and use the correct weapons, armors, etc.. to make ur guy as powerful as possible. O, and dont forget, the game has many thousands of different unique, rare, and set items to try to collect, use, and trade. If u give this game a chance, ull become addicted to it, and find urself playing it everyday for like 6 months, like me

Can't Install the Game

I would give this game a much higher score if only I could install the game. I have been doing that for weeks trying every suggestions from Blizzard's online support relating to my problem but nothing works.
