This game is the top of the line. Yes it does get a little TOO HARD SOMETIMES, but its a fun game that is definitely worth buying because it takes more than the 5 blockbuster days to beat it and it is fun to play again after you beat it every now-and-then. Some people say its not as good as MAX PAYNE but it is. Not only do you walk around shooting people, you get to play mini-games like disarming bombs, playing as a stripper, shooting from a helicopter, picking locks, hotwiring vehicles, etc. And when you do walk around shooting people you can take them HOSTAGES and excute them when you are done. If you have the money to rent this game for 1 month then maybe you should do it, but in my book this game is a MUST BUY!!
Dead To Rights - another classic Xbox game

Got the game just this weekend and all I can say is - AWESOME! It is well worth the price and for those who enjoyed Max Payne, for sure you will enjoy DTR. Namco is well known for arcade shootem up games and if you've played the Time Crisis series, you will feel very much at home with this game.
The game plays well but it does take a while to learn the controls. Too bad there are no control options like Halo but once you get the hang of the controls, you'll be shooting, diving (in fast and slow mo), and disarming goons and thugs left and right. And the canister bomb is one cool and handy way of disposing a lot of bad guys when you're low on ammo. And it's not just shooting, you get to show off your wares in hand-to-hand combat too.
One thing good about it is the in-game saving. It'll keep you from having to do a checkpoint over again, but that is, if you don't forget to save. ;-)
Very highly recommended!!
great game

Da story to this nearly copies Max Payne. A cop framed for murder seeking revenge, bla bla. Lemme git 2 da point: This game [is bad]. It copies a great games Storyline, and he can carry 2 pistols like Max Payne. It's gameplay is like Syphon Filter, cept wit a discussingly huge controller. You can Flatten yourself on the wall like Metal Gear Solid. The only thing thats good is a lot uv weapons. Namco, This IZ no Max Payne 2, so stick with Tekken, and such n such. If anyone with a Xbox is lookin' 4 Max Payne 2, don't look at this, but if u never played Max Payne, try this before u play that. This game is also cummin' out 4 da PS2, But like I want it, cuz Max Payne iz alot better
Hard as heck...

This game can almost be described as a Max Payne clone. It does some things better than Max Payne, and some things worse. The slow motions stuff was WAY better in Max Payne, as was the overall atmosphere. DTR adds some great stuff though, disarms are really fun to do.
Some parts of the game feel overwhelming and almost too difficult, this detracts from the fun factor. The graphics are good, better than MP, but not quite what an XBox game should look like.
Maybe you'll like this, I did. If you like Max Payne, or any 3rd person shooters, rent this guy.
Great Max Payne type game!!

This game is awesome! With great graphics and gunplay this game is way over max payne! Hand to hand combat, arm wrestling, and weight lifting are some extra "gimmics" in the game. If your looking for a challenge this is the game for you. 12 chapters of an amazing story, you help Jack Slate find out who killed his father.
help?

I've been waiting for this game for awhile and i just decided to go out and buy and just skip the whole renting process and im happy i did it. The game is pretty awsome. The gun fights are really cool. THey have dones of guns with the pistol being your most used which is not a bad thing because double fisted pistols deal out dones of damage.
The fist fighting is cool but hard. It's good in short intervals, which for the most part it is.
One of the coolest things is the disarms and human shield stuff. WHen you aproach a guy and hit B you eathier steal his gun and murder him exicution style or take him hostage and use him as a human shield.
This game is really awsome but it is not for the light hearted. It is very difficult. YOu will die many many times espacally when you are first starting out. But you will get better and you will get better guns. By the way i like it better than Max Paine and its not that much alike if you were wondering
Max Payne? Sure, if you want to believe it. Also! Warning!

Updating this.. I have this game... i strongly stand by my opinion but Dead To Rights is HARD, i mean, this game was meant to be played for a few days straight. I do not recommend this game to the uncoordinated or people without a LOT of video game experience. There is a VERY steep learning curve but when you get it down, this game is unbelievably great. Dont get frusterated at this game either! Everything is very beatable but you need to remember to use a lot of different techniques. The Prison (very very early in game) is VERY Frusterating but its very beatable. Again, this is a game for gamers, not kids. The slow motion is truely as good as it seems. Also, you are also put right into the action which is cool. The game seriously feels like a movie unfolding, its great stuff. *End of update, heres the rest of the original review* - Well, Max Payne 2 right? If you want to believe what you hear. Max Payne was a pretty good game but Dead To Rights will be awesome. If you truely believe this is a clone, watch a movie of the game and then grab a dictionary and figure out what a 'clone','duplicate', or whatever you want to call it, means. If you truely want to say Dead to rights is a clone, you'd have to say max payne is a clone because you can easily say Max Payne is a copy of Hitman or any other third person shooter. You can also say max payne is copying a lot of hong kong, john woo, type movies so please people, give a game a rating its worth. If a games a clone, does it mean its automatically a 1 star? Well believe that if you want to, then say starcraft is a clone of warcraft or Tropico is sim city. Be nieve (sp?) and not buy it because its a 'max payne wanna be' just because a magazine made by a bunch of 16 year olds says its a duplicate. In the case you are a true gamer, you will realize this will be a very FUN game... and im sorry whoever complains that a game is "too hard" and "too difficult" should never call themselves gamers. They need to pick up a basketball or a football and refine their hand to eye coordination and learn some common sense. If you think max payne is hard... oh god, the generation that wants to grab a game, master it, and leave it be needs to know why you pay [money] for a game. Yes, [money] isnt for a one shot, done, dust collector game, [money] is for a game you'll enjoy over and over and want to play with your speakers blaring. If this game is "unbelievably hard" for a good reason (not just cheating AI or stuff like that... project igi on hard? last level? anyone?), then ill pay [more money], and any true gamer will pay it for a fun and challenging game.
