Super Mario 64 has spectacular gameplay!

I bought this game in 1997, over a year after it was released. The first few weeks i played it, i was amazed at the beautiful 3D graphics. Honestly, i had never seen 3D graphics before this game, so it was awesome and inspiring.

I love this game, so i'm writing this review. There are some memorable moments from this game (like when Mario ventures into the haunted mansion or when he goes on a rainbow ride in the skies)

All in all, it showcases the N64 incredible 3D graphics and the sound isn't half bad.

The levels are interesting and sparse ( i beat this game with the Nintendo Power guidebook) and should take some time to crack the puzzles. Basically, the game is quite easy and not surprisingly, it has enough mini-quests and puzzles to keep you occupied. As for level designs, i think it's excusable considering it's first generation stuff but still deep enough to immerse you (again) after a long absence...

My gripe is while this game is really good (i mean i'm a big-time Mario fan from the first mario game), it's only as good as it lasts. I found it hard to go back to this game after a while- cause it was like having discovered everything and it made it hard to play through the whole thing again.

My advice: play selectively. You need to get into the mood. While i say that, it's without doubt that i have never regretted buying this game.

Even if i never play this game again and leave it to collect dust (not likely)-i'll always remember this game as one of the finest moments of the N64 lifetime (that is 1996-2001).

Anyway, every Super Mario game is groundbreaking (SMB1 created the side-scroller, SMB2 was queer and fun, SMB3 is the greatest platform game ever, SMB4 was one of the most replayed game i ever played and this game is mario in 3D without luigi, which is sad)

But cheer up people- the next generation is almost upon us. But i know that when we look at 3D graphics today, we will know that this game had a part to play in making this our reality today.

This game is great. There are many levels, and they are all fun. It deserves more than five stars. The graphics are pretty good, and it is great for all ages. You are Mario, trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser. It has a great story to it and it has a lot of different jumps and flips that Mario can do; which are kinda fun to play around with. Over all, this is one of my favorite Nintendo 64 games, and I highly recommend you to buy it.

when i got this game i didn't expect it to be so exciting, but it more and more exciting as I kept playing. As you gained stars, and finish levels even more levels appear. Beating Bowser is difficult but once you do you feel really good about yourself. The game was and still is really fun so you should go out and get it!!!!!

Not a Game. THE Game!

I've just finished the game after months working. I mean really finishing it, i.e. collecting al 120 power stars.
This is probably the best Mario videogame ever and Miyamoto's masterpiece. It has been almost six years since Super Mario 64 was released but today it stands as fresh and as entertaining.
This is a collector's game that will certainly be remembered 20 years from now as one of the greatest classics of all time.

This mario game, though the graphics are in the prehistoric age, still brings fun to the most hardcore gamers. It has a basic save the princess storyline, but you can chose whether or not you want to do a particular mission. It has many secrets to be learned and it's the very first 3d game, ever. Top notch game, I highly recomend it to all owners of the N64.

Super Mario was my first n64 game. It is great. It took me months to beat it,and it has tons of levels to play in. it is very challenging.Sometimes I just walk around the castle and replay the same level over and over again. This game definetly deserved to be the first and one of the best n64 games ever.

One of the best!

Super Mario 64 is a game that anyone over 5 or 6 years old will enjoy. It engages your mind, your concentration, and it's also good just for fun! This game does not include Luigi I'm sorry to say, but of course, the story line is the same as always, to save Princess! Bowser has this time stolen the Star Power from Princess Toads castle, and her and her friends are trapped inside the walls! Mario must save them and get the Star Power back form Boswer.

The graphics are amazing, and the colors are so vibrant. The sounds are cool, and very detailed. So detailed you can hear the pitter-patter of Marios little feet. Control is fairly good. When you climb a pole or tree and you would like to jump off in a certain direction, it can be a bit frusterating, especially when you are over no land!

The levels are clever and dreamlike. The detail is so amazing! Each world is full of suprises, and new things! Some are even disgused so that they are a wall, and some are just as plain and a hole in the ground. You will gets hints and help form signs and Toad. Jumping into the pictures and finding yourself into a new world is the most exciting part! You never know what could be lurking behind the next corner or door.... who knows! You may even find the legendary Loch Ness Monster....

I would recomend this game to anyone who enjoys a good time, and game that never gets boring! It's challenging, fun, and full of surprises!!

I'll Tell You How To Get To Yoshi On The Roof!!!!

O.K. Now, ther has been some talk about Yoshi being on Prinncess Toadstool's (Peache's) rooftop of her castle. I'll tell you how to get to him. All the stars in the whole game equal up to 120. No more. No less. So, if you get the 120 stars then what you do is go outside to the area where you began the game. There's a cannon out there, but it was covered by bars. If you have 120 stars, then the bars are gone. Get in the cannon and launch to the roof. Walk around (yes, you can walk on the roof) until you see Yoshi. He'll give you 100 lives that you can refill!!!!! I hope this helped!!!!!!

P.S. THE GAMES GREAT!!!!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!

The Big Conflict

I really liked the game, it was awsome because the game took me a year to beat. It has 20 or more levels BUT there are six activities to do in each level. Bowser is trying to take over Peache's(Toadstool)castle and it is up to Me(Mario) to save her. In the first two levels of Bowser he wasn't very challenging. But the third time you try to beat him he is hard to beat.
I like the way Mario can use wing cap, metal cap, and invisisble cap to help him. You have to collect a total of 120 stars. You won't get all of them just by completing activities in the levels.
this game had me playing it for a long time. I got this game for my birthday 3 years ago and enjoyed it since. If you're a mario fan buy this game.
One thing that bother's me about the game is I only have 119 stars, How do I get the next star?
