If you are a Star Wars fan, or just a flight sim fan, you will love this game. The new V-wing is the coolest, along with the other cool ships. And along with the 4mb expansion pak, you will have one of the coolest graphic experience of your life! And if you have the rumble pak, it's even better!

Any Star Wars game is great. 'Shadows' was really cool, but 'Rogue Squadron' takes it up a few levels. I played a demo version, and it is really just so amazing. You have to play it to believe it!

Thsi Game is absolutely awesome. I love how you can choose your ships and especially like the idea of putting in the V-Wing Airspeeder. I also like the new planets and the improved graphics over SotE. Now tripping an AT-AT rules! and it looks evwn better now.

STAR WARS: Rogue Squadron is perhaps the best N64 game to date. Although Zelda 64 is very good, Rogue Squadron can use Nintendo's new EXPANSION PACK. You do not need the pack to play, but it makes a very big difference in the graphics quality. (Expansion Pack is a 4 Meg memory upgrade)
The pack allows you to play the game in high resolution mode, this means the game becomes very life-like and makes you feel like you are in a Star Wars movie.
I was equally impressed with the storyline of the game. Unlike SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE, (the earlier Star Wars based game) this game is entirely more 'realistic'. For example, in Shadows, you play Dash Rendar - some no name character who doesn't really fit George Lucas's story. But in ROGUE SQUADRON, you actually are the one and only Luke Skywalker.
The storyline takes place during the most exciting time in the triology. It is after the destruction of the Death Star and before the battle at Hoth. So Skywalker is not a Jedi yet and the Rebellion is still the brash underdog against the mighty Empire.
The storyline and the graphics are both incredibly detailed and match the Star Wars universe seamlessly.
If you are a true Star Wars fan (who isn't?) this is the fantasy game that all gamers aspire for - to live Star Wars just like in the movie.
Believe me, this is reason enough alone to justify the purchase.
A Must-Buy for Star Wars Gamers (Who Can Afford It)

Although the gameplay may be difficult to adjust to, the graphics and soaring realism alone make this game an adrenaline-pumping sensory experience. Unlike standard 3D shoot-'em-up games, this one requires players, incarnating Luke Skywalker himself, to fulfill specified mission objectives (not unlike the classic "GoldenEye"). In order to experience the game fully, however, it is recommended that one purchase an N64 Expansion Pak, which retails for around $30--not a thrifty price, yes, but a significant accessory for the full gaming experience. The game itself may test one's price range, but once played, it may well be appreciated as a sound investment. The game's landscapes are lush and colorful, and the ever-fluid vehicles are true to the details of the Star Wars aesthetic. (The X-Wing is my favorite). The John Williams soundtrack thunders in all its symphonic glory, while one lives out realistic battles against the evil Empire. For fans of Star Wars games, this is certainly one of LucasArts' finest creations . Play it for yourself, get hooked, and May the Force Be With You. . .
