Multi Player Is Great, But Not Too Much Else

For those of you that have played Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark has the same basic controls, etc. it was made by the same people. I loved 007, it was great for it's time, and PD seemed to be the game that would step up and take it's place. After playing it, I can say that it's so-so. The story is really well done, and the weapons are the coolest I've ever seen in a game. Playing through the story mode can be tedious, but there is plenty of ammo, and such.

I think multiplayer is what makes it so good. It's very customizable, and is all in all loads of fun.

Problems are, the frame-rate is extremely poor, especially in multiplayer, and the way characters normally move is painfully slow, thankfully there is a speed up cheat.

I think this is a great N64 game, one of the best, and an excellent shooter in general, defintely worth getting, or at least trying out for awhile. You may get some 007 deja vu though.

I have had Perfect Dark for a year now. I still play every day and find lots of different things out. The gameplay is perfect. The only time there is lag is when there are a LOT of people in one area of a room fighting. But that doesn't matter. Once in a while there are freezes, but not much. What I like best about the game is in every room, you can uncover hidden cheese. I also like that your character can lower it's level (which is really increasing..not decreasing) so that when you become Perfect 1, you get a code name and a password. Lots of gamers really enjoyed this game.... You will love this game!

Perfection Couldn't Get Any Sweeter

This game by far has proven to be an N64 classic, produced by the same Rare team that brought the excellent game Goldeneye007. The gameplay is similar to that of its predecessor Goldeneye, but the story is more complex, involving a conspiracy with the mysterious DataDyne Corporation, the US Government, and a group of strange alien creatures. The Multiplayer mode is definitely fun for parties and big groups of people. All in all, the game's name tells all. Perfect Dark is Perfect.

a fun mutli-player game. the singles missions aren't that great, but the multi-player options definitely make this game worth owning.

Perfect Dark is an excellent shooter, made by the same company that made Goldeneye 007 for N64. Look at any review site, and you will find that Perfect Dark has always received high marks, it is a must buy for any hardcore shooter fan.

An amazing shooter for its time, it was reason enough to buy a N64.

Perfect Dark was one of the greats that the N64 churned out during its life span. I mean, you had this, Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Mario Kart 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and more! All of which are considered by most to be some of the best games in history. Its a wonder the N64 didn't completely dominate. Anyway, onto the game itself. The graphics, were flat out amazing for their time. The soundtrack is legendary. The A.I. was possibly the best at that point in time. The shooting mechanics were probably the best on a console during that time as well. Not to mention all the cool guns with even cooler secondary firing modes. I don't know what else I could possibly say to convince someone of how amazing this game is. If you haven't played this game yet, I feel sorry for you. You can probably find it on Gametap or a used copy of the original somewhere, but if you haven't already played it you probably don't have an N64.

Greatest Game I've Ever Owned

This is the best game for the N64. Quite possibly the greatest. Huge multiplayer,challenging,co-op mission,counter-op missions, decent graphics for it's time and overall FUN! Alot of people say that it was an unofficial sequel to Goldeneye because of it's similar engine, controls and gameplay...I suppose it's safe to think that--they were made by the same companies (Rare & Nintendo). Since I already own it,the only thing I can hope for now is if it becomes available for XLIVE Arcade. I'm willing to pay 60 bucks for this gem. Buy it...as a matter of fact, buy Goldeneye too. They both kick a*s.
