It had been a year or so since some great games appeared. 1998 had Banjo-Kazooie and Zelda two of my faves. When '99 came around Super Smash Bros. Entered my best games ever list. Mario Party too was also included there. But when when DK64 entered my collection, I knew after a month that that game won't be on the list. Rare needed a boost after Goldeneye and Banjo-Kazooie. A good game. Perfect Dark had arrived after 6 months of delays. Why is Dark so good? Well hows about this: Wonderful overworld(Carrington Institute), Perfect storyline(Almost as good as Zelda:Oot), Cool Sidekick(With an alien named Elvis, what could go wrong?), and of course, an awesome multiplayer mode(You, your friends, and up to 8 "simulants").Plus, there are 40, yes 40, weapons that can do many awesome things(see through walls, become invisible, etc.) And, get this, each weapon has 2 functions. Some weapons secnd function can make it do a completely different thing! This is definetly my favorite party game, and its my 2nd favorite game(Zelda being the first)! Buy this game. Your 64 diserves it.

Perfect dark is awsome fun! oh the graphics, and the game play! This IS Nintendo 64's best game yet. Perfect Dark was made by the same people who made the popular game, Goldeneye (bond). They must have lost the license to bond yet they were still able to make a very cool, and very graphial, spy oriented, first player, shootem up, action packed video game. do yourself a favor and buy this game... I love it and my friends love it.

Perfect Dark is unarguably one of the most realistic games I have ever played. The environment is mostly realistic, and the characters react and interact very realistically. It is an excellent step up from GoldenEye in many ways. It has cooperative and counteroperative mode. It allows for computer opponents of differing skill levels and behaviors in multiplayer mode, as well as allowing the player to choose particular weapons instead of just sets, and lets the player customize and save a character for multiplaying. It also lets them pick soundtracks and even different play styles such as King of the Hill and Capture the Case, and it also has a couple of nice little features, you can save settings instead of having to redo everything each time, and it also has a lock feature. For those older siblings who play with younger ones, or if there are two players who disagree on settings, it can lock one or more players from editing the settings. But Perfect Dark also has its drawbacks. It is realistic in the way the characters move and talk, if you shoot a guy in his leg, he will limp, and when you shoot them, they cuss at you. Now you can turn of the language, but the violence and blood, which is not overdone, cannot. Another big drawback, is that it almost requires you to have a memory pack. Perfect Dark is a game that most gamers will like, but it may not be suitable for younger gamers. I highly recommend this game because it is fun and easy to learn, but like I said, it may not be for everyone.

This game is so cool. It is just like GoldenEye except newer and better. It also has more guns and more levels. It has better graphics and has more features. I would deffinately buy this game. Also you need to have an Expansion Pack to play the full version, so buy one.
Rare has done it again with another great title for the N64!

Perfect Dark is without a doubt the best first-person shooter the N64 has to offer. Moving along the lines of the great N64 game GoldenEye, Perfect Dark has made what GoldenEye a success and added on to it to create a great game, with much help with the Expansion Pak. For me, without a doubt, the best one-person level has to be the first one. Where else can you go through a office building shooting practically everyone you see? The music and the tone of the level reminds a person of the Terminator movies. The other great level has to be Chicago-Stealth. This is another great level that the music and dark tone (which is hypened by the rain) makes a great level that you'd wish the developers had made into a multiplayer level. The other levels are not as good as these two, but are still great in their own ways. The sound of the game is another highlight. I love listening to the bad guys yell "I've been shot!", "Is that a bullet", "Holy-", among others. These are just classics. The multiplayer of Perfect Dark is good and bad at the same time. The good is that you can play with bots. The bad is that you can play with bots. Unfortunately, the developers haven't given the player the best multiplayer levels. The first level on the game itself (inside the Datadyne office tower) would have been excellent. Anyway, Perfect Dark is a game that helps those who complained that their wasn't enough adult games for the N64. Perfect Dark is in that category and is a great game.

There is absolutely nothing more relaxing after a long frustrating day of work, than coming home to this game. I've reached total satisfaction sitting on the couch unloading clip after to clip into my roommates characters. The scenes, characters, and senarios surpass goldeneye 007 by a long shot. They took a great gaming engine and improved the whole Secret Spy agent experience. With a wide variety of arenas, weapons and options it can't be beat. The missions have so much variation increasing from basic spy to perfect dark agent.

I got PD as soon as it came out and it is the best game still! One of Rare's best title is right up there with Goldeneye 007! The new co-oprative and counter-operitive rocks!

Don't get me wrong, I love Goldeneye, but since I've got both Perfect Dark and Goldeneye, I find myself playing Goldeneye much less. When I first got it, I didn't have an Expansion Pak, which meant I could only play the Challenges and Multiplayer Stages. So I got an Expansion Pak, and I was treated with awesome looking cities and levels on the very cool Solo Mission. On this game, you've got a huge variety of weapons and pickups, but beware, this game is pretty hard. But it is SO fun and addictive. Two of my favorite weapons are the Magnum and Shotgun. There are many other great ones, though. There are very few games in which I get so caught up in, but this is one of them. If you thought Goldeneye was good...well, give this one a try.

Perfect dark is , well, perfect! The graphics are some of the best I've seen on the N64. And with 44 different guns (coun't em'!), it's no wonder how it came to be on top ( or, at least close). And if each gun has a second ability, you could tally the guns at 88, since each gun has two modes. I love the simulents and how, with them, you can do one-player single-player, and I've never really been able to do that (I used to have to plug in the second player controller and beat somebody just standing there, not a actul person). This is a great game. So stop looking at your computer screen, and BUY IT!
