Perfect dark is a classic game that will never die.

Perfect Dark is the new and better Bond!

This is my favorite spy game in the world. It's based in the near future where there is flying cars, UFOs, and anything else futuristic you can think of. It has awesome weapons, a creative variety of characters, an interesting story and many levels to complete. To top it all off, if you don't like playing major missions alone, invite a friend to play co-op or activate how many simulants (up to 3)that you want to help you out. However it's more fun with a human player. Also, there are crazy combinations of multiplayer combat. You can have up to 4 human players and 8 simulants and give them a specific personality. Believe me when I say that it gets crazy! It's a game that will forever be a Nintendo classic! Perfect Dark Zero may have better graphics, but Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64 has the best story and gameplay! I recommend this game to those who like Bond, but feels there is something important missing - the whole idea of Perfect Dark is what is missing.

Possibly my favorite N64 game as well. Tons of stuff to do. One of Rare's finest works.

Awesome oldy for a good price. Only issue was that the documentation tells us of some things we should be able to do without a memory card, but seems we have a different version. Still, great game.

Finally!! after 3 long years we've waited for it, and here it is- the sequel to Goldeneye! Or is it just a Goldeneye clone? While PD's single player mode improves over Goldeneye's with the help of a storyline, it takes away from the level design. You might argue that this game is HUGE! That it REQUIRES the exp. pack to play it. While that's true, I still don't want to spend my time exploring a place where every time you turn around you see the same thing. Such as the hospital level- there's nothing to differentiate one hall from the others. Even with this slight problem, the levels aren't too bad, especially ones like future Chicago. I'd sacrifice a little level design for a little bit of a storyline. Which PD does have, sorta. While it's not Metal Gear Solid it does have a story based on an evil corperation, Datadyne, that produces advanced weopons, and now has control of the ultimate weopon which you must uncover and then stop them. Surprisingly the voice acting is good. Enough to rival MGS? No, but still fair. Ok, so the levels aren't great and the story line is only alright so, what's the good part about the SP missions? Simple, the gameplay and the interaction with people in it. Like Goldeneye there's danger around every turn, but in PD it could be a human, alien, dinosaur like creature, or even camoflauged enemies. The computer AI is incredible too. Just like in Goldeneye they'll duck and shoot and sound alarms, but they don't need alarms in PD, they actually "call" for reinforcements, and if they can't handle you they'll actually run, then when you kill them they'll let out phrases like "I don't want to die!" and then their blood will drip down the walls. This makes killing bad guys much sweeter. As far as graphics go it's what you'd expect from the Gold. people plus a 4 meg exp. pac makes it that much better. The weopons in this game are as versitile and plentiful as they were in Gold. Even more so now! I think there's like 44 different weopons or something like that in this game. They're even more cool now that some of them aren't even from this earth and can really do some dammage. Reaper: Think rate of fire 10 times faster than an uzi and damage factor like a rocket launcher. "So" you say, "all this and not one mention of the multiplayer," well, I saved the best for last. Where to begin, clones, gun sentries, awesome weopons you can use to tear your opponents to shread, good level designs, several different play modes, and, best of all, player sims, which are computer characters, that you can set up to play too. So it can be just you and a buddy plus 4 player sims either on teams or all against each other. Well, all in all Perfect Dark is a good game. While not perfect in some areas it is in alot of areas. It's basically Goldeneye given an upgrade with a Joanna Dark at the helm and a heck of alot better fire power and gadgets to complete your missions. While it didn't make the impact Goldeneye did, I, for one, am glad we finally got a different, 1st person shooter, multiplayer game to play for a while because, well, even old classics like Goldeneye eventually die out.

The Last great FPS on N64

This game, as stated above, is probably going to be the last great First-Person-Shooter on the N64. This game combines the graphics of half-life, the weapons of Turok 2, and the gameplay of Goldeneye to make a Perfect, yet a little dark, mix of all the great FPS's into one. Each level in this game, as in half-life, is completlty different from the last, and is archeiteched in a way that is totally conveincible, each one of the alien weapons has a feroicious, pointed look to it, and covered in a brown and red color, as in Turok 2, and the gameplay is almost the exact thing used for goldeneye, with a good lock-on system that slows you down for accuracy instead of being perfectly accurate while runnng franticaly for your life. Level design here is great, and each level has a high point of action to it that you've sworn you saw in a movie but just cant remember which one, for example, In the Area51 level, You walk into a white-walled autopsy room, disquied in you'r doctors uniform. Above you, on a raised platform, you see a bright, tilted surgery light, and below that, a short grey alien. All of a sudden, a guard yells "Thats not harry, its a Spy", everyone starts shooting at you, running franticaly behind cover, you return fire, staining the white walls with the red blood of the guards. You run into the autopsy room, take the floating cart the unconsious if not dead alien is on, and push it out of the room with one hand while carefully holding your trusty pistol in the other. As you open the door, two guards let loose with their AK's, as the cart below you bobbles up and down in the fight, you gladly return fire from cover of the cart the alein is on. Continually bobing up and down, the short grey thing remains unconsious as you push it from room to room, surviving each gunfight in the white and now red walled rooms. With such movielike action going on constinly throughout the game, and with such cool-looking guns, and great graphics for the N64, This game stands almost Perfect above the other N64 (I still thing Ocarina of Time stands higher, so dont but this over that, just to let you know)

Best Shooter

When Perfect Dark came out it was by far the best shooter, not one matched it. It was the awakening of shooters to show everyone how good they could really be. It's crazy plot about a secret agent trying to stop aliens keeps you in it but all the objectives that you must complete and the crazy gear you get make it by far the best. The multiplayer in this so far can only be matched maybe by Halo. This was the first game that let you pretty much get to customize every option of the game.

Pretty innovative shooter game

Before even HALO dared to hit gamers with the X-Box, PERFECT DARK from the old N64 first came to our senses in 2000.

I admit, I haven't played throughly with the game. I haven't beat it, but I can tell by playing several multiplayer levels that PERFECT DARK is one cool game. Basically it's part HALO/RED FACTION shooter game where you play a female agent who try to wipe out featureless beings from the far-future. Is that right?

I don't know the story, but I was impressed with the innovative graphics, gory violence and tight futuristic weapons this game has. Man, the weapons are weird! But that's the cool part!

PERFECT DARK hasn't been talked about that much because it was minor success. But it sure beats the hell out of some other shooter games today! So dust off your N64 from your closet and check this game out!

Its Dark, Very Dark.

If you liked 007 Goldeneye, then you have to play this. for and N64, the graphics are pretty good. it takes place in the future wich adds some spice to the guns. probloly the best feature is the duel. that is really fun. Its alot more addicting than goldeneye. the only reason its M, is because blood splats on the walls. and sometimes the dead guys suffer. overall its a really good game. (BETTER STORY LINE TO)

Better than Halo and Golden Eye!

I love this game! Cool weapons and atmosphere. The sim bot feature makes the game a better choice than Halo for duels. I played the game just the other day and still had blast with this addictive first person shooter. The game may be starting to show its age, but in May 2000 this game was a fest of joy an amazment on the senses. I really think Nintendo made a mistake in selling Rare Software to Microsoft they gave Nintendo a little more adult edge to their gaming library. Whenever Perfect Dark Zero comes out for XBOX I will have to buy it!
