Best N64 Game EVER!!!

I have many N64 games. I will play them for a while, and b4 I finish them I am bored and just quit. This is one of the best games I have ever played for N64. It is extremely fun. It isn't one of those games you can beat in an hour, but it also isn't one of those complex games that take weeks to beat. If you wanna buy a great game for N64, this is definately the one!!

Best Game EVER!

This is a good game to get for N64. If you like Mario games and like RPG games then this game is the best. The way you fight enemies is really cool especially with timed attacks and the action command. The only downside is that you only get 30 BP so you can't have a lot of badges and all those other cool attacks. Overall I would rate this game:
10/10 Graphics 100000000000000000000000000/10 for paper graphics
8/10 Difficulty
9.5/10 Gameplay
9.9/10 Overall
Based on this I would think this game as a good game to get. But still if you have Gamecube get Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door!! :D

Nintendo's greatest game to offer for the N64!

Nintendo has made a great game for the N64!Right from the first battle with Jr.Troopa,to the battle with the infamous King Bowser(a.k.a King Koopa). There are seven star spirits to save, and you'll have to do it quickly because if you don't,Bowser will take over the Mushroom Kingdom! And believe me,you don't want that to happen! This game is action-packed,so you'll be having the time of your life for months!I recommend this game for people who love a good challenge every once in a while, and for people who want to have fun with a vidio game for a long, long time. You'll obain varios items such as the fire flower, super shroom, mushroom, tasty tonic, etc. You'll get eight different friends:Goombario,Kooper,Bombette,Parakarry,Bow,Watt,Sushi, and Lakilester.Well, I don't want to tell you any more about the game,or it'll ruin all of the suprises!Have a nice day!

One of the better attempts at an RPG involving Mario so far.

It's funny how things work out. I was one of the lucky few to acquire a Sony PS2 on time and yet all of my latest game purchases are for the dying Nintendo 64. Paper Mario is the latest in the N64 line up, and one of Nintendo's better iterations staring Mario and his gang. Naturally I'm disappointed in the absence of ALL of the characters. But that is a minor complaint since very few of the characters in the Mario world have a part big enough to justify playing them

Mario's flattened appearance in a 3D world takes an open mind to appreciate. Initially, I really didn't like the game since it seemed a bit haphazard. When I saw the first commercials on television, I was expecting the characters to appear and behave much like the Um Jammy Lammy (for the PSX) characters. Where characters would fold and bend much like real pieces of paper. Paper Mario kind of falls flat here (literally) the characters are more like pieces of cardboard, inflexible with the same image on both sides. The game's battles occur on a sort of stage complete with hanging props in the background (look for the guy wires), I sincerely wish the rest of the game occurred on a sort of stage as well (In a more obvious manner). Kind of disappointing really.

Getting past the "faked" paper, the game is actually kind of fun. The storyline is the usual "Save the Princess" kind of thing that Nintendo used since day one. But the actual game play is sufficient enough to keep a player amused for around thirty-six hours. After that, it's another few hours to squeeze every last secret out of the game. The addition of the "helper" characters and their families play a crucial part in adding the extra time to the game. I spent a lot of time running around, doing useless errands for various characters for who knows what kind of useless thing. I never once traded anything for the star pieces I collected, I never had the need to. Once a player has discovered everything there is to know about the game, the game's replay value diminishes rapidly. It's a safe bet that we're going to see this game on the Amazon.com marketplace.

The game's lack of appeal to older players and the late appearance on a dying game may be what kills this title. This is a better title for the younger players since the controls and camera work will not frustrate all but the absolute worst players. Or for players who insist on owning every game that Mario ever appears in. I know this is a weird thing to say but the $49.99 price tag (as of this writing) is worth the admission, despite the less than forty hours of game play. Nintendo is heading in the right direction with the paper look of Mario. This sort of game will bring Nintendo back to ground zero after the disappointment of Mario 64 and the other games involving Mario (and lack thereof of Luigi). Are you listening Nintendo? How about more games like this with the smooth camera work and responsive controls?

Super Cool!

Paper Mario is probably one of the best games out there. In the beginning Mario and Luigi recieve an invatation and go to the Princess Peach's castle for a party. When Mario meets Peach they start to talk. Then Bowser causes an earthquake and Peach's castle is lifted into the sky. As it turns out, the star wand, a wand kept in Star Haven for granting wishes, has been stolen and the seven star spirits, Eldstar, Mamar, Skolar, Muskular, Misstar, Kleaver, and Kalmar, have been imprisioned in seven levels that I will now explain: 1. The Koopa Brothers' Fortress. In that level you must find your way through a castle and defeat Bowser? Maybe. You also must defeat the Koopa Brothers. 2. Dry Dry Desert. In that level you must take a train from Toad Town to Mount Rugged. From there it is a tough and scorching adventure through the Dry Dry Desert and you must find your way through the Dry Dry Ruins and defeat Tutankoopa. 3. Boo's Mansion. You must find your way through the Forever Forest and into Boo's Mansion. From there you must go into Gusty Gulch and defeat Tubba Blubba. 4. Shy-Guy's Toy Box. In this level you must go into a giant toy box and defeat General Guy and his army of shy-guys. The backround is cute but I warn you to not let your guard down. 5. Yoshi's Island. For a while you can relax in this tropical paradise until you hear news that the yoshi kids have dissapeared you must save them and thats where your adventure starts. You must find your way through the Jade Jungle and into Mount Lavalava. Inside there are many obsticles and at the end the Lava Piranha. 6. The Flower Fields. Days are dark in Flower Fields. The evil Huff'n'puff made a cloud machiene and the clouds are so thick that the sun cannot rise and the flowers are unhappy. Warning: If you see a flower that is gold and sparkling you should run away. The Amazy Daisy is very strong and does 20 damage. 7. Shiver City and the Crystal Palace. Far in the north is Shiver City, a nice place to hang out in. From there on you must find your way to the Crystal Palace where the Crystal King awaits you. Finally you are ready to take on Bowser. You make your way through Star Haven and then the seven Star Spirits will take you to Bowser's castle. Overall I think that this is the best game. I do recomend getting an adventure guide because the game can be very difficult without one.

Mario may be thin, but the action isn't...

At first I resisted getting this game because of the difficult time I had with SM64, but this is far more than just a Mario Game for the N64, it's a return to the roots of the series. As a long time fan of Mario, I was delighted to see a return to the 2-D, side-scrolling, jump on them to knock them out origins of the game. I was also amazed at how flexible the new badge system makes Mario, especially since attacks that work on one enemy can damage Mario when used against another. Although I'm only ten hours into the game, I'm thoroughly hooked. This is a return to greatness for one of the best game series of all times.

Don't throw this paper away!

You've gotta try this game! But if you do,don't just judge it by the beginning. At first, there's this big talking story that goes on,but when it's over with,it's better. The game has a lot of cool items and the scenes are great!! It has like a flat 3D effect that i've never seen.I suggest you try this out!! ... ... ...

Keeps you intrigued if you can get past the story format

A much better RPG than some of the others that have been on the Nintendo 64, *cough*THQ*cough*. Although it is written in a children's story format, it has enough extras and a good story line to keep you entertained for hours, no matter what age you may be.
I realize that this was at one time going to be a sequel to Super Mario RPG and I know that a lot of ppl like to trash this game because of Nintendo decided to call it something completely different, but its best to think of it as a completely new game since a lot of new elements are introduced in this game (badges, star pieces, etc) as well as new characters. The difference between the sequel relationship of these two games and Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger, is that this game does not bother with making a connection to the previous Super Mario RPG game, since the game is called Paper Mario after all and not Super Mario RPG 2, also the game contains no previous characters from the first Mario RPG. Chrono Cross on the other hand made a half-baked attempt to connect to the previous Chrono Trigger game one third of the way thru, it probably would of been better if they would of made an entirely different game out of it, like Nintendo did in this situation.

This is the best game for childern

Great RPG from cartoony Mario

This is one of the best titles I have for the N64. The cartoony look highly appealed to me, so as the RPG environment. There is so much to do apart from the main storyline, like collecting Star Pieces. The controls are easy to get used to, and the sound effects are cool too! The only flaw is that you won't probably play it again for the second time, as there's no multiplayer stuff in the game.

Graphics 18/20
Gameplay 36/40
Control 13/15
Sound 9/10
Replay 6/15
Total 82/100
