Another Instant Classic From Rare!

If you are looking for a game with absolutely EVERYTHING from great graphics to great gameplay and action this is the game for you! You go through the many different levels defending and rescuing innocent tribals (a small bearlike race. In other words think ewok) while al the whole time shooting at continuing waves of bugs with weapons such as the weak but fast machine gun to the pure power tri-rocket launcher. Extra replay value is added by the great multiplayer modes where you race, battle, or compete in target pracice with your friends. If you own a Nintendo 64 you owe it to yourself to rent (if not purchace) this game.

I love this game. Altough I own a Playstation 2 and an Xbox, this is my favorite game on any console. The graphics are awesome, while the story draws you in. After defeating Mizar, you feel accomplished. Being able to play three people in a campaign feels good (really good when you unlock advanced versions of the characters late in the game). The multiplayer is also very very good--four people running around blowing each other up in many levels. There is also a racing game bonus that is unexpectedly fun. With different weapon sets and tons of playable characters with special abilities I can only hope they make a sequel (and maybe an AI bot feature). I'm eleven years old and I own many games. This is my favorite, as all my friends can see because the N64 is hooked up to a portable TV in my room which I take on road trips along with the N64. If you are thinking about buying a first person shooter, you should definitely consider this. Others just want the best graphics, or something on a newer console (Playstation 2, Xbox, or Gamecube), but in my opinion Jet Force Gemini is better than anything for those platforms.

This game is awsome. Very fun. Each character has a different player with different powers. Lupus is a dog that can fly. Junu can walk on lava and Vela is good with underwater creatures. Can be played as multiplayer for different games. Overall this is an excellent game. You will love it as you play it.

Jet Force Gemini. Arguably one of the best titles for N64. Awesome 4-player battle modes, 2-player adventure mode, tons of weapons, furry, helpless, Tribals, and of course, millions of bug drones. Wow. It's amazing they got it all in. If you want a game for Christmas, this is THE GAME!

First, I will begin with Graphics. The graphics are the only point in this game in which I can criticize it. The only reason they are not top notch is because the game is massive beyond all previous games. So while the graphics could use work, they are a moot point. What is truly spectacular about this game is that while there are puzzles, the main part of the game is to thrust yourself through to Mizar, and stop him from killing innocent tribals. The targeting and controls flow perfectly, and camera angles are good overall, with a few minor problems. The framerate of the game is perfect, and contrary to other reviews, there is only a very very very small slow down when there are at least 30 enemies on the screen. This provides for smooth gameplay. While the characters are powerful, the game is extremely challenging, leaving the player scrounging for energy at times, being overwhelmed by Mizars forces. Although there are a lot of things to find, it is often very fun to search every corner, because there are new enemies to get rid of, and many new weapons and upgrades to find all over the many planets. Buy this game, you will never regret it, for the simple reason that it is one of the best games created for any platform.

Jet Force Gemini is an exciting, action packed thrill ride with lots of cool weapons and easy controls. The levels aren't that hard to beat, but you need to know how to use your weapons effectively or else you're toast. The Multiplayer feature isn't too great when you first get the game, but once you unlock a few secret levels and characters it gets more interesting. This is definetly a must have game for all of you gamers out there that liked Shadows of the Empire for 64.

Jet Force Gemini is one more of the many highly praised games by Rare. It is a 3rd person shooter with dazzling gameplay mechanics that make it stand out from the rest of the bunch.

At first you'll be confused by the control setup, in fact, you'll probably get very irritated by its complexity. However, if you stay consistent and practice for a few minutes, you'll get used to the controls -later on you'll realize how great and appropriate the controls of the game are.

Getting used to the controls is the main objective to experience such a game like this. If you do not get used to the control setup, you'll eventually never enjoy such a masterpiece of a game.

The basic plot of the game consists of stoping the Evil Mizar and his plans of UNIVERSE domination. Obviously, the Jet Force Gemini are put up to the job and will have to encounter and stop the Evil Mizar.

Your first encounter with Mizar's army is in Goldwood, here you'll be approached by a strange creature that explains the objectives of your mission (save the Universe, rescue ewok-like-creatures called Tribals, etc.), and give you instructions of how to handle the controls and play the game. After this, your epic adventure starts.

There are three characters to choose from, you'll initially play only with one, the other two you have to rescue. The three characters are the brother/sister Juno and Vela, and their canine companion Lupus. Additionaly, there is another character: Floyd. Floyd is essential to finishing the game; there are areas that only Floyd can get access to. He can also be used by a second player in co-op mode.

Graphically, this game is beautiful, there are many details in the worlds that the Jet Force Gemini visit. Each one has their own unique mood, setting, and environment. The characters are very well animated, and the enemies have their unique aspects that distinguish them from the rest.

Musically, you'll be immensely impressed. The audio/sound of this game is nearly CD quality belive or not, and not only that, but it is also in surround sound to furthermore delight you. The musical score is so fantastic, the tunes blend magnificently with the worlds you play in, and add to the gameplay. Yes, the music will absorb you into the game and keep you playing non-stop!

Overall, I'd have to say that Jet Force Gemini spurts out quality from everywhere you could view it. Not only is Jet Force Gemini one of the best games I have ever played in my life, but it is also one of the few games that have kept my attention despite being extremely complicated and thouroghly difficult. This game is not suggested to those with short attention spans or to those with lackadaisical skills. This game is intended for those who have experiences with videogame for more than five years and to those who can truly recongnize a good game from the bad.

I can tell you that Jet Force Gemini has lots of re-play value, but not the kind that always makes you WANT to replay it. Sometimes it makes you replay some of the places that you are bored of your mind of, but at least it offers you many challenges: Tribals; Hidden Multiplayer stuff; Floyd Courses; Secret Items (Health Inc.). There is so much to this game, it seems nearly impossible to find all of the stuff. Overall, this game is great and the graphics are beutiful. The choppy controls may give you some uncalled challenge, but don't worry, you'll get used to the straffing and aiming controls. If you have endurance and love adventure games, then strap yourseleves in boys! Because your going in for a...you know...ride.
