I loved the original F-Zero on the Super NES and now, I love the N-64 version. The controls feel very similar to the original and the challenge of the original remains in F-Zero X. The graphics contain one of the most amazing frame rates (60 FPS) I've ever seen! Even with 4-players, there isn't any noticeable slowdown. The Master mode (unlocked after you beat Expert mode) is extremely hard. Buy this game, it's definitely worth the money!
Fast, challenging, and fun!

If you liked the SNES version you'll love this one! The graphics may not be good but you'll get over them once you try this game!

If you think all racing games are about running around in a circle you will be really amazed if you give this a chance. Its awesome. The speed is breathtaking, the music is great and the graphics are cool too.In other words its a trip and a half. You play as well known star Captain Falcon and you race across the galaxy and plus you can choose the difficulty levels.Must buy.It will change the way you look at racing games forever.
I think that reviewer is right.

This game is alright but it really wears thin fast. The backgrounds could have been a lot better. And the tracks could have been crazier and wilder.I suggest you buy this game used.It doesnt come close to how good F Zero GC is probably going to be.I suggest you wait until August comes and get F Zero GC when it first comes out because its more true to the spirit of F Zero than F Zero X is.F Zero GC will probably be a whole lot more satisfying as this game is.
Really absorbing and very addictive.F Zero X gets an A -

This game sounds awesome on paper.Race through courses at 700 or more miles per hour against 20 or so different racers. Its even better than it sounds once you play it. It is so addicting because of the high speed and challenging race tracks and it really makes me feel good to hear the announcer say "Alright.First place". All of the cars are about the same except for 3 or 4 that are just absolutely fast.
Although the game gets a point taken off for not making the cities very detailed it is a lot more fun to play than it looks.
Easily the best racing game of all time.

This game along with the first F Zero reinvented and revitalized the racing genre.Forget NASCAR if you want extremely entertaining racing it is right here in the F Zero series.True F Zero is fictional but it beats the non fictional NASCAR stuff by far.In this series you can send your car soaring over jumps, racing 29 other racers at the same time and drive at speeds up to about 1000 miles per hour. Its awesome and this is the best of the series with F Zero and F Zero GX coming in at a tie of second place.F Zero Maximum Velocity is third best but still a strong game.Long live the F Zero series.
Pretty cool racing game

Being creative in a racing game is kind of hard since racing is a pretty one-dimensional concept: get to the finish line before the other guy. However, by adding weapons to the equation, Nintendo created a very exciting racing game!
No wait, that was Super Mario Kart for SNES.
However, this game is not an ordinary racing game either. This is mostly because the tracks are very different. Some track segments are contained in pipes where every way is up. Two tracks are made out of a big cylander and you race on the outer surface (maybe this was done in Wipeout, but I've never played that). There's a lot of cars to choose from (maybe too many if you ask me), and you can alter your car before each race.
Overall, a good game, but nothing spectacular.
This game is the fastest game I ever played!
