First of all, you might to need to know, this game is made by Rare, the same people, that made the awesome Donkey Kong Country series, for the Super Nintendo. This game is one for Puzzle lovers. In order, to get the much needed "Golden Bannanas" that unlock new levels, you must solve many hard puzzles! And, your'll need to Master the skill, of changing from one monkey to another, early on, since your'll need to use it a lot. If you have, Banjo tooie, Super Mario 64, or other games, of that type, and you like them, your'll Most likely like Donkey Kong 64, too.

A great game!

This is one game you'll really want to buy. When I bought this game, I had trouble putting it down. It's graphics are great, and the game has so much to do, it isn't an easy win like other games I've bought. There are many worlds, and the sounds from the characters are cute also. Plus it is fun to try and "collect" all the different characters. Overall this game is relativly easy to play and is enthralling and entertaining for anyone and everyone.

GREAT!

Of all 15 N64 games I have, this is at the top of my list. Graphics are good, characters are good and last boss is fun. New characters make it fun and old ones are just as good. If there was more than 5, it would get it!

Bottom line is you will get a lot of game for your dollar. Even after the 35-40 hours to complete every single last objective the game, there's still a simple, but worthy multiplayer mode to keep you occupied. The real problem is that right to the end, it's just more of the same. There isn't the sharp contrast that DKCountry brought to the SNES as most hoped and expected. While no major ground is broken from Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong is still all there as a 3D platform game.

D.K. Bak!

This game is fun at first, but as you move on the game gets hard, may seen impossible! The mini-games are fun (except that Beaver Bother, which is sometimes impossible) The story line is okay. K.Rool wants his revenge by snagging four of the Kongs (which you save and can play as them) and his Golden Bananas. You go and complete little mission type situations to get them back and your characters have to collect an amount to get to the boss. (which a pig and a hippo help by you feeding them normal bananas!) You can also play the original D.K. Game at one of the stages! (Frantic Factory) You also can plat Jet Pac too! You need to beat these, to beat the end of the game. You also can see the story script as you go to a level! (you need to collect a certain amount of Golden Bananas and sometimes get the key to unlock the levels by giving it to a nice hearted giant Kremling that doesn't want to stomp your island like K.Rool wants him too! He jumps for joy and bust open an area from his happiness. You can take snapshots of Banana Fairies to unlock stuff on the screen where you can choose battling or options etc. You can by musical instruments from Candy to kill far away creatures or a team ganging up on you. Funky sells Guns to the Kongs to shoot switches! Cranky sells potions to let your Kong do moves! Candy and Funky can upgrade you Kong's instruments/Guns. This game is great, but hard so I recommend you to rent this first. It's rated E for everyone and mild animated violence!

This game is pretty good.

Overall, this game is very good. There are a multitude of puzzles to conquer and hundreds of collectibles to collect. The only real problem that I have had with the game is the sheer size of it. Finding all 200 Golden Bananas is no mean feat. In fact, by the time I got to Creepy Castle, I shelved the game out of pure disgust. I was sick of finding everything in all of the stages. First, there are the bananas of your own color to find, there are 100 of them. Then you have to find all of the Golden Bananas, of which, each Kong is capable of finding five in each level. The levels are massive, but each have a set area in which a golden banana may be found. Anyway, I have never gotten to the final boss. Maybe it is high time to pick it up again.

DK64 - Oh-plah!

I think this is one of the best N64 games ever, especially if you prefer longer games, less gory content, and ever-popular monkey cuteness. This one ranks right up there with Mario Kart 64, but sadly, there is basically no multiplayer content. I mean, there is, but there isn't (you know what I mean?).
The characters are super fun. Who couldn't love Lanky Kong simply on the basis of his sounds?
I think this is an extremely kid-friendly game, seeing as how you never get "game over." It takes some patience to collect all those keys and bananas and fairies and coins and crowns and medals... but it's worth it.

Almost as good as Zelda

Rare's newest accomplishment for the N64 was worth the wait. It has amazing, huge, worlds and it is very addicting. It will take you at least 40 hours to beat without cheating. With all this, it still doesn't quite match up to the last Zelda game. Buy this game NOW.
