Good- but not what I thought

Being a big fan of World War 2 shooters (Medal of Honor, Call of Duty) Wolfenstein seemed to be a good, accurate game. You start off fighting in North Africa, blasting your way through a nazi held town. Soon after comes a tomb or something where a nazi expedition uncovers an ancient curse, and from there it is all downhill. Zombies with poor AI start apearing everywhere, killing you and the germans. When you get out your commander says simply: "The zombies were...truely unexpected."in the cheesiest punchline I have ever heard. The nazis begin experementing with cloning and build "Super Soldiers", which even in easy skill are impossible. Sure, Himmler was involved with the occult but this really overdoes it...

The very first FPS - the game that started it all and blew our minds at what a game could do - is now on the world's most powerful gaming console!
This is a just simply too solid of a game to pass up. The single-player mode is satisfying enough. But add the Xbox Live support, and you have a MUST-OWN game.
Some of the Xbox additions to the game include split screen co-op mode, Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and additional weapons.
ONE OF THE BEST XBOX RELEASES TO DATE

The game's single-player component is extremely well executed. Some missions (like the airport) are so well designed that you will want to revisit them even when you finished the game.
The multiplayer component of the game is just the finest Xbox gaming experience you are going to have for months to come. It's so much more realistic, action-packed and dynamic than anything else that's been released for Xbox so far.
Overall, the game has superb graphics, sound, and story line. Definitely one of the best Xbox games released so far.
Good but some really major cons

I think the game is very cool, but there is one major problem that I have with it. When you play in multiplayer split screen campaign you cannot save the game. Me and my friend played the game for 8 hours one night and then we found out that you can't save in 2 player mode, like you can in halo. This makes absolutely no sense at all why, would you make a game like that. The people who made it weren't thinking clearly. So if you like to play split screen don't get this game!!!

For a game with so many interesting things (Nazis, undead zombies, rubber-clad-killer-chicks, castles) I couldn't believe how bored I was.
The levels look great, but they're so linear that I found this game totally lacking in replay value. Even as I was going through the levels, I found it pretty tedious. Kick open door, empty clip from MP41 into room. Reload. Repeat. Generally, I've found that my first time through a game I have to be mostly sneaky as I learn what to expect. Then I can play through it again with a lot more action-packed hubris. R2CW never had that for me. The only way I could get through the levels was the same way I'd done it before. There are a couple of non-period weapons to liven things up, but I found them lacking in imagination.
Maybe I've played too many WW2 FPS games (all the MOH, the orig. Castle W., a Mac game called "Damage", and Pathways into Darkness) but I am _really_ tired of the MP41 submachine gun. This game also doesn't solve the "grenade problem" that all FPS except Halo has - namely that grenades are the best way to blow _yourself_ up by mistake. The problem with period games is that you're mostly limited to the weapons from that era. This is really fun for the first few games, but after that I'm ready for something different.
This game is good for someone newer to First Person Shooters, but if you've carried more than three MP41's, it may be a little too much the same as what you've played before.
Awesome, best Online game yet

This game was awesome!! I totally didn't expect it to be this good but it kept me on the cotroller for hours and hours at a time... which you had to because every time I had beat a level thinking that it was the end of the game, a new level would pop up... I didn't mind it one bit. I gotta admit the graphics aren't on par with the best them but the game play and replay values are tops. I'll take this game over any of the Medal of Honors, Red Faction II, and Riddick.
This game rocks

I have played this game on my PC and bought it for Xbox. The PC version pales in comparison. The introduction in the game explains a lot more on Xbox than the PC version. Some sections will irritate you and take you a while to get out of. The graphics are amazing, the story line is beliveable. The story line I love because, most games don't have little movies or any at all. The weapon varity is excellent. Some weapons I used more than others. Hey, I don't want to give away a lot.
I played this Xbox demo

I played the two level demo in the Xbox magazine and this game is great. The levels were intense and had excellent graphics (what else can you expect from Xbox). I had plenty of weapons to kill Nazis and demons. My only complaint was that there was some drift in the targeting. This game will give Halo a run for its money.
Awesome game even better on the XBOX!!!

I've played this great game only on the Ps2, but the XBOX version is better because the XBOX as a console is better and this version has multiplayer, which the PS2 version suffers from it's lack there of. This is definatley one of the best games I've ever played and that's saying something because I wouldn't really consider myself much of a "gamer." The zombies and mummies in the game really are scary at first but you grow to love the twisted nature of these undead enemies. The controls are awesome and even better on the XBOX. The weapans kick buttocks and I know what I want for Christmas along with my new XBOX!!!
