Bad game.

This game is a good to rent but would someone acually consider buying it? Here are the pros and cons of this game.

Pros
-Good Ragdoll phisics
-Fun for a little while
-The vehicles aren't that bad
-Co-op

Cons
-Few Weapons
-Few vehicles
-Gets boring after about 2 hours of play
-Bad animations
-No bots in multiplay (vs)
-For one vehicles you need a gunner to fire
-Wierd music (sounds like an opera)
-Bad storyline
-Bad physics
-Repeats maps in campaign mode
-Very hard to find where to go
-You need to wait before respawning in multi play

listen i was merciful to ninja gaiden but halo is just plain bad. you have this A.I. who practically whispers anything that is half important so the whole game is mainly just kill this thing go here, pretend to sneak in but once you "Stealth kill" a guy they all wake up and try to kill you but fail. the weapons all stink too, alien weapons are weak so it takes like a whole clip to kill a guy and human weapons are too few (Assault, Pistol, and Sniper since rockets and shot gun are only at the end of the game!) multi-player is really boring since there aren't alot of options and no bots, not even a little music! the A.I. in your allies and baddies aren't even as smart as they say. if you want a FPS with smart A.I. get Medal of Honour, if you want good muti player FPS get Timesplitters 2, don't buy this abomination.

This isn't a game...it's an evil entity from you-know-where....it's come to take over the human race...and it's succeeding...it almost got me. I rented it, then realized within minutes that I was playing a clump of manure, not a "superb and divine game experience". I truly believed that RPGs saved me...if you find your psyche being taken over by this evil, feverish disease known as "Halo", quickly play FFVII or Chrono Cross. It's the only cure. And now, the evil entity has devised a way to clone itself. That's right, Halo 2 is upon us, and the foolish public still hasn't wised up. Run while you still can, dear reader. You may think you're too clever to be tricked by evil, but this is such a twisted machination that it even made Game Informer its mindless puppet. If you must have an FPS, buy Metroid Prime...Nintendo is the only savior from the demon-spawn that is Halo.

Not impressive for experienced gamers

If you have played good shooting games this is not for you. With limited weapons and vehicles as well as tiny multiplayer maps this game is ok but nothing makes in stand out. You would be just as happy with any other new shooting game. There really is no strategy what so ever it is straight forward shooting. I would reccomend buying one of the battlefield games or planetside for experienced gamers.

What is the big deal about Halo. It is one of the worst and stupidest games I have ever played. I think people like it because all you do is kill aliens that are extreamly stupid. In one mission you can kill like 100 alien things and you die 4 times. The aliens even speak english. How would a thing billions of miles away from earth know how to speak english. I think that is just stupid. Theres only like 10 weapons and 4 things you can ride in in the game. In the game the warthog and earth cars can never break or explode but the alien stuff can. Another stupid thing is the missions are way too long. It takes abouut 1 hour to finish a mission. And once you die you come back to life. So anyone can beat the game. Some aleins have invisible shields on them and you have to waste a lot of ammo on them. All you can carry is two guns and grenades. And since theres only like 10 weapons you allways pick up the same gun. Theres only about 8 differnent kinds of aliens and they are all stupid. Hunters are big alien things that are almost impossible to kill, little stupid aliens that speak english and run away from you, little aliens with shields, big aliens that have invisible shields around them and they chase you, Floods that when you kill them little ball thing with no guns come out and jump and pop on you, theres more but they are mainly the same as the ones I just wrote but they are different colors or are bigger or smaller. If you like combat games dont buy this because all you do is kill dumb aleins. It is not hard at all. Dont buy it.

good for only one thing killing!

yeah it's a good game if all you want to do is go around killing aliens. there is no skill at all involved in this game it is dam near impossible to die and even if you manage to die u start in practically the same spot you left off in. there in no stelth or skill tactics involved what so ever the game is simple and at times easier than a mario game.

This title is by no means bad, but I don't understand why people are acting like it's some sort of revolutionary game. It's an average first person shooter. There is nothing bad about it, but nothing great about it either. If you are a fan of first person shooters I would highly suggest this game, but if not, there is more fun to be had with other games.

wow this game was really bad. the graphics are as ugly as sandpaper. and i was just getting so bored shooting aleins. i mean if this game wants to be cool and everything. than why do they have you shooting aleins if this game is so awesome. you should be able to shoot people. the music is extremely grating. some orchestral mix of fast annoying techno and rock music. the storyline was really horrible. and the weapons were really really trashy. the guns looked like they were made out of plastic. plus you can only carry two guns at a time. what kind of a shooter gives you only two guns to carry. all the levels look the same. all the aleins looked the same. and it should have been a nice change of pace to get away from boring aleinshooting and hop into a jeep. but it wasnt the veichles in the game are a hassle and a half to maneuver. the framerate is poor especially for an xbox game. plus the gameplay is extremely repetitive hit this alein bash that alein. it lacked vareity and difficulty. because i some how managed to beat the game in a mere 4 hours. grand theft auto took me about 27 hours to beat. not only that the control is riddled with imperfections. everytime you try to steer the controller in the right direction it just wouldnt go. making the utterly boring unbalanced combat seem even more unappealing. once you beat the game that is it no challenge no suprize nata. im sure glad i only rented this game. i encourage you to save your cash. DONT BUY HALO. if you want a real game get grand theft auto vice city rainbow six 3 or unreal.i hated this game had no fun with it. basically more of a chore than an enjoyment is what halo is. and no im not a gamecube lover either. im XBOX all the way. but please please dont make the mistake of buying the game. no matter what people tell you. theres plenty of fantastic alternitives to halo. save your cash on this one.

I decided to rent this game because nobody at school would shut up about it. It was as boring as hell!!! The graphics are not good and the combat is terrible. They will REALLY need to improve on the sequel for this one!

The xbox's first killer app

I was the biggest Sony fanboy for so long. I refused to believe that the stupid xbox could outshine my gorgeous PS2. This all changed in the summer of '04. That was the fist time I played Halo. Since them I've probably beaten the game 30 times. My xbox is now my best friend, and sometimes my PS2 and Gamecube just have to sit and watch.

Halo is no doubt the original killer app for xbox. Halo 2 has since taken the crown thanks to its phenomenal multiplayer, but every loves to go back to Halo and relive that first rush they got playing the game and beating it on Legendary. In fact, I believe that this game was made to be played on Legendary. It may be frustrating at times, but when you finally beat it, there's a sense of relief like no other.

The single player game is awesome. Sure, the levels may be slightly repetitive, but you'll have your finger on the trigger so much that you won't even notice walking through the same hall a dozen times. When the end product overshadows any little things that may bother some people, you know you have a winner. The AI is amazing, especially on Legendary. You may quickly find yourself being ambushed, and those brushes with death make the game truly shine.

Halo brought on what many people believe is the biggest multiplayer revolution since Goldeneye on N64. With the addition of vehicles, it was easy to spend hours playing 4 player FFA or 2 vs 2 team games. When I discovered that you could link 4 xbox's together to system link, I was in awe. 8 vs 8 games of CTF on Blood Gulch is still classic. NOTE: Halo is NOT xbox live capable. PC owners are reviewing on the xbox game stating how fun it is to play online. This feature is PC only for Halo. If you want online play, go for Halo 2.

So if you were like me, a Sony, or even a Nintendo fanboy, I dare you to give Halo a try. You might find yourself going to Best Buy tomorrow to pick up your own xbox. And at a newly released Platinum price of 19.99, it's hard to say no.
