Great game but not for kids

I normally don't write reviews for games but I thought I better let people know about this game! I was excited about FSW ever sense I saw a video about it in Dec. I thought the whole idea of controlling troops would be fun! I even considered putting this on the list of purchases, but I thought I would rent it first! Am I glad I did! The Game play is pretty good it offers a different point of view and even teaches some of the tactics that should be used in gun fighting! Like all games you are trying to outsmart your enemy, this game is the same, you want to find the best way to "take out" your enemy with out getting shot or killed (even if your enemy is shelded). Like the other reviewers said you don't do any of the shooting you just tell your troops where to shoot. You do get to throw grenades (frag and smoke). Maybe I do wish I could control one guy just for the fun of it. But the game is pretty fun with out that. But the biggest surprise which I guess I should have known being an Army Game is the Language! Just picture the type of language you would hear on an Army Base and this is what you get in this game! For the main market this game is intended for, they probably won't mind. I just didn't expect it, and thought if some kids might want to play this game, just realize this game has a lot of swear words. Also the game is a little shorter then I thought. I rented this game on Tuesday and had it passed by Friday.

ok you see this game looks ok so you spend the money to buy it. thats where you probably will go wrong besides the fact that you cant even shot yourself the training excerises are a pain and the missions are outrageously diffucult. i thought this was supposed to be much better game but the controls are annoying the loading screen is very annoying and you have to do everything by the book no going off and having fun.

different can be good

i reserved this game and Halo2 today and i decided i would try to fined more about it so i read some reviews. i was a little skeptical when i read you don't get to kill people yourself so i went to THQ's website and watched a few videos. it has a very good button layouts, great graphics, and overall it looks like a pretty cool game. don't get me wrong, thin is DEFINITELY NOT NEAR AS GOOD AS HALO2 WILL BE, but still a real neat game.

(...)I downloaded a bunch of videos for it off the internet and all I can say is WOW. Just the video of the squad sitting there while the controlling person just looked around was amazing. The level of detail is amazing. The wind blows and you can see little pieces of trash blow with the wind. The buildings and environments are just detailed beyond anything we've seen to this point. Easily as good as if not better detailed than Splinter Cell. Watch this one with a close eye.

Dude all of you haters i dont see wats the problem?
"godd graphics bad gameplay blah blah blah!!". game is pretty end i am enjoying it right now. it was very well made for the xbox. the first thing you will notice that developers have packed the large and complicated controls in the xbox green controler very well. plus i was also pleased with games TON of options to play. why cover fire? you can throw a smoke grenade run through machine gun fire and bam your safe(save that ammo). i may not be able to play the game all day which makes it for a longer expirience. I also enjoy not to realistic gamenviorment....why? Well i always hear people complain its to realistic..too hard....meh meh boo friggin hoo! LIke in ninja gaiden or far cry whicever. Anyway tactics do get repetetive but thats why i dont play all day. anyway i hope you enjoy this i raq themed war sim/arcade.

I AM SO TIRED OF IRAQ THEME.....dont missunderstand me

This may possibly be the worst game I have ever played in my life. The game is more like a horrible RPG than and action shooter. All you do is walk around, find the bad guys and tell your men to shoot, that's right you don't even get to aim, you just tell your entire team to fire. I don't think this game even deserves 1 star!(The reason I put 1 star was because they wouldn't let me put 0) I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this game. Trust me, IT'S A HORRIBLE GAME, AND STAY AWAY FROM IT! I can understand that this was made to train the troops in the field but at least make it fun like america's army! If you like this game, YOU SHOULD BE SHOT!

Full Spectrum Warrior may crash your XBox

I bought Full Spectrum Warrior and made it through a bout 3 levels whan I was sent back to the previous level.

"Loading" appeared on the screen for about 5 minutes.

The software was accessing my hard drive. I had to power off the Xbox during this and could have damaged the hard drive.

Be aware before you take the risk of buying this and damaging your hard drive.

if you want a shooting game get desert storm

If your looking for a game you ca control your troops and actually shoot the enemy get Desert storm, or desert storm II.Desert Storm and the second one made me play forever and ever i have beaten each one twice. This game is fun if your some one who doesn't like to pull the trigger and fire the gun.The graphics are great and everthing but its not a game for peope you love actualy pulling that trigger killing Iraqies. If your some one like me who like snipeing ,rifling, pistoling, in army game you shuold get DEsert stormor desert storm 2.

How are you going to make a military game and not be able to shoot. C'mon now, this game doesn't even compare to Ghost Recon. This is more like a Playstation 2 game, with it being slow paced and boring. If you want more for your money go out and buy Shrek 2. I returned my copy and saving for Ghost Recon 2 and Halo 2. Notice the pattern (lucky #2), if we're lucky Full Spectrum Warrior 2 will be a lot better (e.g. being able to shoot!).
