Dead or Alive 3 is a little better than DOA2 in every category. The graphics are a little better, there are more characters, you can play tag battle in many different modes, there is a hidden character unlike DOA2 and each character has at least three different outfits after you get the DOA3 booster disc. The only bad thing is that there are too many limitations in the game. On the watch mode, you should be able to play on several more stages and there should be a knockout feature so that all of the fights will not be continuous. You should be able to play on more stages for survival and team battle modes as well. Time attack mode should be affected by the difficulty level and you should be able to adjust the amount of rounds that you want to play. A soundtrack feature would also be something nice to have. So hopefully Tecmo will add more extra's to the game on a future booster disc.

Dead or Alive 3 has a unique side that makes it completely special and better from any other fighting game. That and it has more sexy pixelized chicks than any other game made (yet.) Although the arenas could use a bit more freedom, the game plays well and keeps you playing; especially if you have somebody else fighting against you. In my opinion, the canyon level is the most exciting, because you can continuously pound your opponent off of cliffs, which is an easy way to win. In short, if you are fed up with other fighting games .... play this. It's great.

The graphics in this game are incrediable. I played this game for hours. The movement of the characters is very good. Sometimes it looks like you hit the person but it doesn't do anything. Once you learn the controls. It is a good game to purchase.
Superb graphics but nothin else special

I played DOA2 hardcore for my good ol PS2, and that was as good as PS2 graphics got, now the game moved to the most powerful System on the market the Xbox, and the graphics are ooh-myyy goodness the best, until Splinter Cell came out, but the only thing I find wrong is after you get past the graphics and beat the game with everyone, It's pretty much a Better graphics more characters version of DOA2 hardcore, and I don't like a seem-like port of a good game, but hey, I still like the game, it just don't seem like a true sequal, just like Tekken 4, but anyone with a Xbox, and never played DOA2, then this is the fighting game 2 git. If u have I suggest a rental, and that is something I didn't do, but it's one of the Xbox's best showpicies

DOA3 looks great, it's graphics are incredible...and if that was all it took to make a great game this would be one, however, that is NOT all it takes.
There are a lot of moves to learn in this game; all of which are nearly useless: because by the time you've entered the button sequence your opponent has mashed you into the floor with stupid button smashing, rendering all your hard work useless. Eventually the player always comes back to simple punch and kick combos, making gameplay completly without depth.
Then there's the story and endings...hardly any of which have a point or even make a little sense.
The only reason I give this two stars instead of one is because it's enjoyable to change the female characters cloths and look up their dresses when their throwing high kicks.
If your a more serious fighting gamer who enjoys utilizing a characters moves and combos, go somwhere else; DOA3 is almost a pure button smasher.

This game is REAL, no japanese fake trash, this is a real game. The fighting is great, the graphics are FABULOUS and the story is great. I would preffer this game for a begginer-mediocre player because it's fun and hardly difficult because this game lets you flow with it.
Great

I love this game. It is very fun. I think it is much better then tekken (which I also liked). It is much better thenDragon ball z budaki (which was terrible). It was also a major improvment from the last DOA. the graphics are amazing, and I really dont like X-Box.
Oooh... shiney pretty people....

DOA3 is a great game. One of the best to come out on the Xbox, inmyhonestopinionplzkthx. The graphics are tight, especially for a launch title. Lighting and background graphics are amazing, and while there are a few touchy things(one dimensional clothing), overall this is a gorgeous game.
Speaking of the graphics, in response to certain people saying the game is too ' trashy', I have this to say in caps to prove my point:
IT'S CALLED MARKETING.
How else are you going to get lonely nerds living in their mom's basement to buy your game? Add Kasumi, of course. Gen Fu's not gonna get them. You need some double X chromosomes to spice things up. It helps that they're scantily clad, of course. Besides, if you don't want your [...] kid playing it, DON'T BUY IT FOR HIM. YOU have the power. IT has a teen rating. Look at the reasons for the rating, it says ' mature sexual themes' RIGHT THERE. Don't act like this snuck up on you.
That being said, I'd like to move on to gameplay.
Story mode is your classic ' choose a character and go around in their story beating people up until the big boss battle' mode. Simple, but effective. The progressive battles don't get much harder, but the final boss battle does get you off your rear to try to think of how to beat him. It takes a couple tries, but it's worth it. Throughout there are gorgeous cutscenes to pass the time. And then there are the lovely movies you get in reward for beating story mode. Ahh.... beautiful.
Multiplayer is done well, with a good couple modes for you to play in, what with tag team (versus/normal), one on one(versus/normal), etc etc. It's fun, but I'd like to see more costume choices. Kasumi has the most with five, and that's just not enough. More unlockables in general would make this game even better.
Overall, this is how it evens out:
Pros: Great graphics
Interesting characters
Good multiplayer
Kasumi's assets
Cons: Not enough unlockables
Story mode gets repetetive
Not enough tag team stages
Worth the money, especially now.
Best version yet.

This game is awesome. The Dreamcast version blew away the PS2 version so you can imagine what this game is like on the Xbox. Aside from the incredible looking graphics, the game play is so fluid and smooth it's unreal. The forest level and cliff are my favorite. There are plenty of moves, throws etc per character and almost any situation can be countered. 4 player muli-play is a blast. There are multiple tiers within each level it seems endless. The final boss in story mode was extremely fun, it switches to 3/4 perspective and uses alot of special effects. (don't keep your distance, stay in close as possible on him) If your not waiting for Soul Calibur or want something incredible to play in the meantime get this title.
So addicting I had to put it in my best friends dorm room.

This game is dangerous. Do not purchase this game if you have any hopes of concentrating on anything else. Unlike Tekken Tag 3, the controls are smooth and the action is intense, motivating you to want to learn the moves/combos. The graphics are beautiful, there is even a mode to watch the computer play itself, which sometimes, beats network tv. 10 people procrastinated studying for their finals here today because of Tina (a beauty). Get this game!
