Visually Dead or Alive 3 is a stunning game. Gameplay is solid and almost all of the game is solid. The only downfall is the story mode. It is very short and they speak in subtitles. With all of the Xbox's power it should be able to produce a game where they actually speak English.

I would give this a 4.5 if i could, but definitely more than a 4. It's a lot of fun, and even my friends who dont like fighting games play tag team with me (4 humans of course - computers are boring). It looks great and its a lot of fun. I doubt i'll be playing this in several years seeing as sexy games like soul caliber 2 shall be coming out, but its definetly worth it if you want a game and dont hate fighting games.

Meh. Doa3 is a pretty good fighting game for the most part. the sad thing is that the last fighting game I bought was for the Super Nintendo in Japan in the year of 1996! However, i have played many other fighting games both 3d and 2d and eventually learned their move execution patterns. The way to execute moves are all the same! Toward, Back, Toward; Down, Forward; down, back; etc... This game has some nice fighting environments, nice fighters (really), but a very hard to follow story plot. As usual, in the end u have to fight this boss who is very difficult and would have to say is cheating and u could only beat him if: u are a veteran of the game (most unlikely since the game has been out for about 2 months now), have lots of luck, or maybe u have an emulator which saves states...... nah! (no computer would be fast enough! right now that is), or you are really good with the fighting genre. but really, that's it...

okay i've playtested this game. (...) I completed the single-player game with one of the characters in under 10 minutes. No joke at all and I'm no champion player. Graphics in the game are very appealing along with the variety of moves for each fighter. Still, there is very little replay value when you complete the game so quickly. The storyline is pretty disjointed and it flips from scene to scene and you're wondering what the heck is going on. The empty dialogue is as bad as the Phantom Menace consisting of such witty repartee as "I'm going to defeat you!" or "Prepare to fight!" The storyline remains pretty similar for each character with only a few minor differences among them. Only real incentive to play single-player are the ending movies (...) Otherwise, this game could be worth getting ONLY if you have a bunch of friends that come over to play games. The head-to-head competition is pretty cool; you're able to go tag-team against other opponents and perform combination moves which are pretty sweet. This feature offers the only refreshing element in the game. You'll be quickly bored otherwise. An intermediate player will likely complete the entire story mode for all fighters in a matter of hours.

Im a Big fan of fighting games and this is not one. I say dont buy it. If your thinking about buying Dead or Alive 3 rent it first, it will save you 50 bucks.

Has anyone else noticed the trash in this game? I don't mean the fighting, I mean the TRASH. Has anyone unlocked the videos for each charecter and seen exactly what's IN them? I don't want my review to be reported, so I'm not going to say what's in this game. But let me tell you, it's BAD! My dad was not happy at all with this game! I wasn't even allowed to play it unless an adult was playing with me! Sure, it's a fun fighting game, but it's just too trashy! Look at the cover of Dead Or Alive Volleyball and you'll know what I mean.

In this game's place, I would recommend Tekken 4, Virtua Fighter 4, and DragonBall Z: Budokai 2.

Alright, that's enough people, wait for Tekken4 VF4, or even Soul Calibur2 no matter how long it takes. It's worth the wait.

Just wanna say that the graphics in this game are absoltely beatiful but the gameplay is rather weak and gets boring quite quicly.It is by no means a bad game at all, it is good but it would disappoint many because with such amazing graphics you would expect great gaemplay too and unfortunately the gameplay isnt that great. The single player bored me and a lot of other owners of the game i know in a few weeks. The multiplayer is fun but nowhere near as good as Smash Bros Melee for GC. There is not much that hasnt been seen in other fighting games here. Once u get past the graphic you will find an average fighter. Buy Smash Bros Melee instead because it also has awesome graphics and more importantly plays like a dream with friends. Me and some friends have played it since november and we are nowhere near bored of it. So wait for the inevitable sequel which will hopefully focus more on the gameplay elements and also look out for Soul Calibur II coming out later this year because it will rock!
