I mean it too, everybody remembers playing MK2 on Sega Genesis. At least those of us old enough to remember the good old days, he. Anyway, the guy before me is right, there is...shall we say, "attention to detail" in this game. But its not overly so. The women's breasts only jiggle when they jump or whenever gravity and the natural law of physics would have them do so, also meaning that they don't bounce overly so. Only as much as any other woman would. As for the panty shots he mentioned, those only occur when they do a high kick or some other form of kick where air or gravity would normally pull up a skirt, and just as in real life, it falls right back down not even a split second later. In total, he overplays it too much. You really don't even notice it too much in battle, and if you do, you're already dead. If not by the hand of your more expreianced friend, or from the AI, which can really pummel you in the later levels. The only drawbacks to the game is the total lack of spoken English (all the vocals are in Japanese w/ English subtitles) and Story Mode. The end boss is incredibly cheap and reminds me of Shao Kahn, only this time you can't use Sub-Zero's freeze blast.
The moves and combos are easy to learn and catch onto, almost every direction on the d-pad coupled w/ a punch or kick button will produce a totally new move w/ the abitly to make a combo starting from nearly every move. Grapples are stunning and really add an Ouch! factor to the game (think of a big burly Russian lifting you onto his shoulders and then slamming you into an electrified wall head first, and then kneeling down to break your neck while you lay on the ground
). The moves are all fluidic w/ no clipping whatsoever (ie: no punches that seemingly go 'through' your opponent).
The other game modes are al worth their while 10-fold and going through Story Mode w/ each character do yield high-quality movies that are usually quite humourous and on par somewhere between Toy Story and Final Fantasy quality CG. If you think Jann Lee is a Bruce Lee knock-off now, wait til you see his end movie. It also yields 1 character who was dropped in the last version (not really, but its one of those amnesia things so the Ein version and the Hayate version of himself fight very differently) and a Random character selector. The Official XBox Magazine also recently released an expansion pack to the game adding multiple new costumes to each of the characters (picture that same burly Russian dressed up as a Roman Legionnaire outfit plated in gold).
On the whole its a great fighter w/ ultra-supreme graphics, incredibly fluid fighting moves (if not always realistic, at least there's no energy balls being thrown around), and replay value that could last for months. Good buy.
Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guarantee you, you'll like this game if you know good games. I know a few people say is bad and others say it's great, but I think the people who say it's bad are maybe don't like cool and action fighting games, or are disguted by fighting, or just wanna make the game look bad. If you like an amazing story plot (this game has a story mode, but be councious that you may find it silly or with no sense if you don't know the story of the previous dead or alive fighting games), a great looking, action fighting, stunningly designed characters(not to mention the beautifully defined female characters in the game, some with skimpy situatons),you MUST TRY this game, trust me on this. You'll have to like it atleast a bit. I only find one thing missing in it, it needs more unlockable stuff, but overall, it's GREAT! One more thing, be sure to finish the game with all characters to see their short story ending movies, most of them are stunning, especially "Christie's"(see it for yourself, if you're a guy). Also playing survival mode, time attack and tag teams with your friends and beating them up can be fun. Have fun playing this.
Superb graphics, solding fighting, and awesome arenas

I lovethe arenas that you get to play in this game... they are beautiful, and for once the end-animations (after you play story made) are really well made. The graphics are cutting-edge and the whole game overall is easily one of the best fighters currently on the market if not the best.Gameplay takes some getting used to, but if you like fighting games you will like this. I usually use this game to show off the XBox's graphics -- but like any other fighting game, unless you have friends to compete against it gets old.
Okay fighting game...

It's fun... but what's annoying is that a rookie player just pressing buttons has a chance to beat someone that is an intermediate player. Graphics indeed are amazing. Tag team is somewhat fun.
DOA- Beautiful, yet short. Great for 2 players, not 1.

Straight out of the packaging, DOA is a beautiful game. The graphics are very detailed, fluid, intense and colorful. And so is the action for that matter.Though the game is 'Okay' for a single player, it is much better suited for cooperative play, or player vs. player. You see, while there are many different game modes, (like survival and time attack) I can't believe this game so blatantly forgot a single player vs. computer mode for single fights (scored by KO's or how many round are won) that is present in any other fighting game like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. What you say? No player vs. computer: Well, yes, there is survival mode in which you choose a character and fight CPU players right after another until either the CPU or you is knocked out, but you have no choice in who you fight or where in this mode...It's all random...I would really have likes a mode where you could pick your opponent and play for the best 2 out of 3 rounds lets say.
Sound: Excellent control over sound. In game settings you can adjust music volume, combat volume, special attacks/effects volume. However, I hope you like Aerosmith...they provide 3 songs that you fight to throughout the game. They are decent and adrenaline pumping,...but Aerosmith? Should have been techno.
Game Control: The game is somewhat sensitive to your hand on the game pad. Could be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it. The A, B, X, Y, white & black buttons and triggers work great. However, I found the 8 directional D-pad a little too sensitive...often resulting in wrong directional combos because you must press it PERFECTLY. This fact carriers over to how you control you players attacks. Like most fighting style genre games, each character has his/her own set of moves based on the pressing of buttons in combination. While I see no other way around this and this is the norm for these type of games, in DOA, it can become ridiculous. Basic moves are easy to pull off, but those spectacular moves require such precision and sometimes lengthy combo's you most likely only use them by luck. Because of the fast pace of this game, DOA turns more into a button masher console that a true strategy game.
Practice mode: You can practice your moves in a special mode, but as stated above you really need to have extremely great coordination to pull some of them off. You get frustrated with some of the moves.
Story mode: The only real 1 player mode is slightly weird. You pick a character and try to complete a 'story' by battling 7 CPU controlled players, then a boss at the end. If you complete all 8 matches, you unlock a great graphically detailed end cut scene that centers around the character. But here's the problems: 1) All voice overs are in Japanese with English subtitles. The only English you here is: You Win, You Lose, Start. Okay...Why? If they can put this in English, why can't they do the rest in English? Why do I have to read subtitles that go by so fast? 2) Flaws in the overall story: Okay..you picked your character and now must fight 7 battles. I get this, but some of the dialogue does not flow from one battle to the next. Two sentences between characters before a fight does not give much of a story...or build up. I think the strangest thing is the battle 8...the boss. After you win battle 7, you are transported to a hellish like realm and must fight this evil looking samurai named Omega. But it is really never explained how you got there or why you are there, who he is, why you must fight him, how he fits into any of the storylines, no dialogue. Most stories have a build up to the last the showdown...a goal that players can understand. Omega is just there. If you defeat him (which he has really impressive yet hard to dodge special attacks) you immediately see the final cut scene. End of story. Very anti-climatic.
Camera mode: Sit back and watch two CPU players knock each other silly, but neither wins. Yes...that's right...all you do is watch, and there is no victory. Um....why?
All in all, DOA 3 has the potential to be a great game. The graphics are there, the music and effects are there, the characters with special moves are there. What's lacking is credible story, and a good 1 player mode. This game is definitely fun if you can get someone else to play you...that's where it shines.

Well this is undoubtedly the best looking game I've seen. The attention to detail in the huge levels is astounding and the characters look great. Unfortunately it's not as good as it looks. The first thing I did was play in Story mode without looking at any of the moves in the manual. I was able to beat the game with the majority of the characters, simply by employing button-masher tactics. The last boss is extremely lame, and so patterned and predictable you just want to shut the machine off and watch TV for a challenge. Overall it's an incredible launch title, it leaves me excited about the future of the Xbox, but overall this game seems a bit hollow.
Once you're over the graphics...

I like this game, which is a miracle because I did not like the last one, or the one before that, or the one before that. It is my opinion that Dead or alive is about nothing else but [exploitation]. This statement holds true of DOA 3, but for some strange reason it works for me this time. I noticed that the "bounce" that the series is well known for has been toned down significantly, and the movement of the characters is more realistic. I guess because the game itself has less of an emphasis on [exploitation] that I can take it more seriously as a fighter game, which is why I enjoyed this one, and plan to buy it later.
However some of its predecessor's weaknesses rear their ugly head. Once again the game attempts to tell an incoherent and irrelevant story that makes no sense. Temco needs to learn how to tell a cohesive narrative in the worst way. The fighting engine itself becomes tiresome, as many of the computer-operated characters can be beaten with the same simple combination kicks over and over again. The repetitive nature of the combat makes this fighter only good in a two-player match. Once you get over the graphics the game becomes quite shallow. Still fun, but shallow.
Listen this.

Oh, god, why, why, why did they ruin one of my favorite fighters, why? Its so wrong, I loved DOA2, and I mastered it to the point I would never want to play it again, then I stoped playing it. After a while I came back to it and it was fun again, but I stopped so I didnt ruin the fun of DOA3. Well my worries were put to rest, they ruined it for me. Its the same thing, theres nothing diffrent, I swear to god, 2 new chareters, and theres all new leavles, thats it. Oh god, thats it,no new attacks, no new blocks, no new grabs, nothing. Its driving me nuts, microsoft had nothing to do with this besides paying them not to release it to ps2 and gamecube and some how this ..., oh well, see you around amigos (I'm not spanish), adios
