Absolutely Awesome!!!

First of all I love the Star Wras Fighter series games, especially the games for Game Cube and for PC. I also own a PS2, however for some strange reason, they just don't seem as fun on it. Anyway, back to the review. Clone Wars is an extraordinary fighter flight sim game. Along with some on foot battles and absolutely amazing flight fighting, this particular game completely blows my mind, with it's amazing graphics, it's perfection on controls and lack of any lag whatsoever, this game is by far my favorite game in the series. I also own Rogue Leader and still love that game, but so far Clone Wars just simply delivers about an ounce more overall fun in gameplay that Rogue Leader was lacking, and believe me, Rogue Leader dosn't lack a whole lot. I highly recommend Clone Wars to anyone who is a fan of the Star Wars games. For those of you who have been sceptical to try out the Star Wars series games, I think that this is the one to buy. It, like the other games also has a number of different diffaculty levels for those who are a little shy to try the Jedi and harder difaculty settings, but it is quite simply one of the funnest flight shooter games that I have ever played. Along with a wide variety of vehicles to use in gameplay, (including a walking vehicle which is very cool), this game is just totally fun. I guess I'm babbling so I wil quit now, however buy the game, it's sooo worth it. Trust me, hours of fun!!! I mean my girlfriend even likes it!!! That says a LOT!!!

It has more Good than Bad

This game is better than expected, but from like the 6th mission on. At first I was disappointed, specially because recently I was playing Rogue Squedro III: Rebel Strike, which I couldn't stop playing.
The Good:
- Boss Ships' battles, you need to find a different strategy to beat each one.
- You can ride creatures and different vehicles, sort of Rogue Squadron.
-Easier controlling walkers than Rogue Squadron, but Flying is better in the latter.
- Multiple Objectives during one mission
- Some very challenging objectives even in padawam mode
- 3 difficulty levels
- Bonus Objectives to unlock Maps, good if you play multiplayer
- Unlimited Continues. Usually Star Wars games give you between 3 and 5 continues, so if you get to a checkpoint you wont have to start from the beginning of the mission again even if you keep failing to get to the next checkpoint.
- Enough supplies to replenish health and ammos and some interesting power ups like temporary invincibility and power blasters

Bad
- Graphics could be better
- Bad Voice acting
- Cutscenes and story not that good
- For hardcore gamers it is going to be short
- The first missions are like nonsensical
Recommendation: Play it if your a Star Wars Fan. Particularly I'm satisfied with renting it rather than buying it, but if you like to play games over and over again to unlock everything and beat the games in all levels of difficulty and also have friends to play multiplayer then it has a good replayability value so you can buy it, especially now its under 20 bucks.

That is what this game is based on. If you know anything of Lucas Arts, and have played the two Rogue Squadrens and The Battle for Naboo on the N64, and loved them, then you'll be blown away by this one. It has incredible graphics, and an awesome storyline. You start out as Mace Windu, and take control of a battle tank in the Battle of Genois. You will be changing craft all the time in this game. The player will be able to pilot 4 types of craft, Land and Air, instead of just air. Being able to travle by Land and Air adds a whole new lv. of fun in the Gameplay, as you'll be able to see ground units upclose and personal without crashing into them. Another refreshing little tid bit added by LA was the Multiplayer. This is what most of the LA Nintendo games lacked, getting on the wrong side of many people. In the Clone Wars, however, you and your friends can go Head-to-Head in a four person compotition. Hope you buy this game, cause it is most deffinatly going to be awesome.

One of the few 2-player coop games for the 'cube

If you like battling armies of droids with your buddy standing beside you, Star Wars the Clone Wars is what you want. The replay value is limited, so you might want to rent this one to see how you like it before you buy.

Sorry, but this one's a rental:

No doubt our younger reviewers wll cry foul (note, most of them have not even played this game yet - despite their five start rating of it), but this game simply doesn't live up to it's promise. If you are able to look past the fact that the words 'Star Wars' happen to be on the cover there's not much left.

What is good:
* In a few rare sections the game does give you a sense of being part of a larger battle, most notably while escorting a group of larger tanks and such.
* Controls are well thought out, easy to use, and responsive.
* Vehicles from the movie itself are fathfully re-produced by the games engine.
* Graphics for the vehicles themselves are impressive. Explosion and vehicle destruction is also nicely handled

What's not so good:
* Cutscene character animation would be funny if it wasn't so bad. Voice acting is of the same quality as the character animation.
* Vehicle physics are largely the same.
* There's very little strategy in the game as the weapons leave you little choice but to perform the same 'shoot laser, shoot rocket, strafe' strategy throughout.
* While the game advertises many different vehicles, you'll play almost the whole game as either a tank or a transport.
* 'Bonus' material is unsatisfactory.
* While the game is arguably longer than Rogue Leader, replay value is limited due to the lack complexity in vehicle design and the inability to play as other vehicles.
* There's very little sense you are in a 'Star Wars' game at all, take away the few musical keys and such and you've got just another sci-fi 'shoot em up'.
* Scenery graphics are not nearly as polished as RL (recall the Hoth levels with their textured snow).
* You are unable to shoot infantry while in a vehicle as you could in RL, rather they magically scatter whenever you approach.
* Missions with you actually out and about as a Jedi are terribly simplistic and seem hastily executed.
* Typical AI here, your 'teammates' will frequently run into you if you execute quick moves, as well as cross directly into your field of fire.
* This games gives you the appearance of being able to command multiple units, forget it - just your two clunky 'squadmates'.

In summary, this game missed big on a real 'Star Wars' opportunity - if you are dying to play it (as I was), try renting it first. It takes only about six hours complete and you can pick it up later used if you really do enjoy it.

Cheers, -B

Star Wars The Clone Wars is an exceptional game. It is my favorite one out of them all. You can play in single player mode or up to four players. It has mind-blowing missions. You can receive bonus points to win mulitplayer maps and that's not all you can win. You can find out the rest of the surprises by buying the game now.

It starts where Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones ends. As Jedi Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu or Obi-Wan Kenobi, you lead the Republic Army in the greatest battles of the epic Clone Wars. Your directive: to stop the Separatists from reassembling an ancient Sith weapon of mass annihilation. Battle for survival in a variety of multiplayer games with up to four players, from Deathmatch to King-of-the-Hill -- and even strategic Conquest games. And engage over 30 unique combat units as you wage war across six worlds in the galaxy's most unforgettable conflict.

It's an ok game

This I admit is actually an ok game it is just it doesn't have a certain sparkle to it but hey thats just me. This game is mostly based you as Mace Windu but who does'nt like Mace. This game is almost always based in a vehicle. Sometimes it lets you out of the vehicle to hack away at Droids.

Pros
Play as jedi
Great multiplayer mode
Cons
Bad voice overs
not all that great graphics

Much better than I expected!

To tell you the truth, I don't know what I was expecting, but this sure is an absolutely great game. The action and battle graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is easy (in a good way), fun, and exciting! I also like the wide array of vehicles you can be, for a Federation STAP to a Repuclic Gunship. The controlls are easy to master, which is a rare commodity in a GameCube game. Multiplayer could have been improved in some areas, such as the base thing, but the normal vs. type multiplayer is quite fun.

A lot of people will probably chose between Rouge Leader and Clone Wars. I own Rouge Leader and have rented Clone Wars for a while, and they are both very different games; you can't really chose between the two because the are entirerly different games. The game is really good, and just because you have Rouge Leader, don't hesitate to try this one out.

Very Surprised How Much I Enjoyed This Game!!

Even though I'm in my late 30's, I very much enjoy playing a good game and this one definitely is. Ten thousand times better than "Star Wars: Rebel Strike". Graphics are good; flying mode is a thousand times better than "Rebel Strike"; and it is very fun to keep switching vehicles throughout the game. There are a few other times that you are on foot with a light saber. Every level here is sheer fun and excitement. I have played this game many times over and it still is very fun to play. I hate to admit it, but I cannot seem to defeat the very last level with the Dark Reaper without cheats. I highly recommend this game.
