This game is an intense action shooter

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

This game simply is one of the best Star Wars games. As a Star Wars fan of video games, I was surprised at how little attention this game received compared to other games. The control is spot-on. The action is varied with some being better than others. I really feel that the graphics is really nice. I think even non-Star Wars fans will enjoy this game.

An 8-year old's perspective: It's really, really good!

This game is really fun. I was able to get very far in the game in just 3 days. The first 3 levels are really easy. But then they start to get harder. Sometimes it's hard to get your aiming on the target. It's fun to see what different weapons the vehicles have. It's fun in some levels because you can make your partner shoot at something. The secondary weapons are really handy. The orders they give you are sometimes hard. It's fun because some vehicles have extra features like speed boost and shields. It's really fun to fly the ships around like the Republic Gunship. Clone Wars has really good graphics. If you're a Star Wars fan, I highly recommend this game!

It's an ok game

This I admit is actually an ok game it is just it doesn't have a certain sparkle to it but hey thats just me. This game is mostly based you as Mace Windu but who does'nt like Mace. This game is almost always based in a vehicle. Sometimes it lets you out of the vehicle to hack away at Droids.

Pros
Play as jedi
Great multiplayer mode
Cons
Bad voice overs
not all that great graphics

An underrated Star Wars game

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2002.)

INTRODUCTION:
Whenever a new Star Wars game is released, there's plenty of marketing to be done. With each new film's release comes plenty of toys, products, and, of course, new Star Wars video games. Unfortunately, Star Wars video games, despite the films they are based upon being the magnum opus of science fiction, are often hit and miss in their execution. For every Rogue Leader, there's a Masters Of Teras Kasi to drag the reputation of the series down a notch. When Episode II was released, several video games came out around the same time. Among them was Clone Wars. Read on for my review of this game.

OVERVIEW:
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released in 2002, around the same time as the Episode II film. The game features ground-based objective-oriented combat. It can be played in a single-player quest mode or multiplayer combat modes.

REVIEW:
This is one of the more underrated Star Wars games out there. It's nothing revolutionary for the franchise, but a definite step up from some of the utter nonsense that makes it onto systems. The game is interesting, because there is no other Star Wars game out there like it. In this game, you participate in vehicular combat (usually ground-based.) With objective-based gameplay that usually takes place on the ground, this game seems like a cross between Star Wars: Rogue Leader for the Gamecube and Spy Hunter (the more-recent remake version.) The action is fast and furious, and the thrill never lets up. One interesting thing to note - when you're firing at an enemy, a cursor appears on the enemy which makes them easier to track and shoot, as well as see how much life they have left. This is an awesome feature, and I really think Lucas Arts should integrate it into other Star Wars-based games. It's also convenient that the game lets you leave off on the portion of a mission you were last on when you fail, rather than making you start the whole mission over. This makes the game all the more appealing. Many of the Star Wars characters you know and love are in the game, along with many other characters and worlds, old and new alike. This is nothing revolutionary as far as games in the Star Wars universe go, but it's still entertaining, and the multiplayer mode only adds to the replay value. Of course, even a good game like this has problems. The graphics are a major one. When you're not in a vehicle, or when there are cut scenes, the graphics suck. This is a rare example of a game in which the gameplay graphics look better than the ones in the cutscenes! Gameplay also has its repetitive moments, as well as moments of confusion and frustration. The flaws in this game are undeniable, but this is still a very good game overall. When you compare the two multi-console games that came out in this era, this game and Bounty Hunter, this game is the winner. Sure, Bounty Hunter has better graphics, but overall this is the superior game. Buy it if you're a Star Wars fan.

EDITION NOTES:
This game has gone out of print, but copies seem to turn up in used video game shops on a fairly regular basis. It is in fairly high demand though, being a Star Wars game and all, so you might have to shell out some more cash for it than your typical used game - just be warned.

OVERALL:
Overall I've gotta say, I'm pretty satisfied with Clone Wars. No, it's not my favorite Star Wars game, but it's definitely up there. In a world of Star Wars games that are hits and misses, this one is definitely one of the hits. If you're a fan of all things Star Wars, this is one of the games you should consider owning. Recommended. Four out of five stars.

Yeah, it's a Star Wars game...but, not a very good one. Heck, I thought it was going to be the best when I first saw it in a magazine! Boy, was I wrong. I'ts alright for a little while, but it can get REALLY old once you've beat it. And let me tell you, IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG! I think I beat it in about 5 days, maybe. I like the action and vehicles and all, but the game is just too short and the storyline could go a little deeper. When I beat the game, which is kinda hard at the end, I was so disappointed. I thought there would be more to do. You can do multiplayer, but that can get annoying after about, I don't know, 10 minutes? You can play as a Jedi, but only for about 10% of the game. You're almost always in a vehicle. The missions are just about the same and are too short. Graphics could be a ton better too. The game is good if you rent it, play it, and be done with it, but I wouldn't buy it. It's just a waste of money. That's why I rented it. Summary: Short and boring. That's why there's Battlefront. I'ts a heck of a lot better than Clone Wars. LucasArts improved a ton.

It has more Good than Bad

This game is better than expected, but from like the 6th mission on. At first I was disappointed, specially because recently I was playing Rogue Squedro III: Rebel Strike, which I couldn't stop playing.
The Good:
- Boss Ships' battles, you need to find a different strategy to beat each one.
- You can ride creatures and different vehicles, sort of Rogue Squadron.
-Easier controlling walkers than Rogue Squadron, but Flying is better in the latter.
- Multiple Objectives during one mission
- Some very challenging objectives even in padawam mode
- 3 difficulty levels
- Bonus Objectives to unlock Maps, good if you play multiplayer
- Unlimited Continues. Usually Star Wars games give you between 3 and 5 continues, so if you get to a checkpoint you wont have to start from the beginning of the mission again even if you keep failing to get to the next checkpoint.
- Enough supplies to replenish health and ammos and some interesting power ups like temporary invincibility and power blasters

Bad
- Graphics could be better
- Bad Voice acting
- Cutscenes and story not that good
- For hardcore gamers it is going to be short
- The first missions are like nonsensical
Recommendation: Play it if your a Star Wars Fan. Particularly I'm satisfied with renting it rather than buying it, but if you like to play games over and over again to unlock everything and beat the games in all levels of difficulty and also have friends to play multiplayer then it has a good replayability value so you can buy it, especially now its under 20 bucks.

Even though I'm in my late 30's, I very much enjoy playing a good game and this one definitely is. Ten thousand times better than "Star Wars: Rebel Strike". Graphics are good; flying mode is a thousand times better than "Rebel Strike"; and it is very fun to keep switching vehicles throughout the game. There are a few other times that you are on foot with a light saber. Every level here is sheer fun and excitement. I have played this game many times over and it still is very fun to play. I hate to admit it, but I cannot seem to defeat the very last level with the Dark Reaper without cheats. I highly recommend this game.
