This is the fourth Star Fox in the series, I have and love them all so I don't think this one will be an exception.

I decided to write this review to clear a few things up that the other reviewers said that I know isn't true or they didn't put in enough.

First there is no chance that this game will come out on PS2 or XBOX because Star Fox is a Nintendo Franchise.

Secondly I'm fairly sure that you'll also be able to play as the girl from Star Fox Adventures.

Also I believe that they are sticking to the story and going along with the first three.

An interesting twist

This game is very fun. When you play Vs. mode, you can't help but wish that there would be a co-op mode with up to three other friends so you can set up a plan against the enemy in Story mode. I hate the music in Vs. mode, but it is still a fun game. You can even hijack an Arwing or ride on an opponents wing. Also, when in an Arwing, you can get out, and ride on top of it. In story mode, it still has the great Arwing action like in the N64. Here how I rate it:

At E3, the game was shown, and it looked like it was a lot more like Star Fox 64 than SF Adventures. Anyone who liked SF 64, will like this game

If only $60... offer $20 more!!!

Star fox is one of the best games i've played this year. (I've played around 55 games so far). The graphics are 5 out of 5, the realistic level : 4 out of 5, storyline: 4 out of 5 and unlock features: 5 out of 5. The story starts off as general pepper calls the star fox team for help as they are being attacked by the remainders of Andeross's army. Star fox comes in and attacks 'em all. Next fox is attacked by some weird creature (an aparoid as you find out later)these aparoids are invading the lilat system, the only team that can take these rapidly reproducing robots is non other than the star fox team.

Even when you beat the game there are 2 other difficulty levels that the game can be beat on. Didn't do as well as you hoped on 1 of the levels? That's ok, go to the mission menu and restart that mission! Think you've mastered the game? Time to rethink, select survival mode and beat the entire game with 3 lives without saving! Another cool thing on this game is the multiplayer. On the 64 version you had to be one character. The gamecube version allows you to be falco, fox, crystal or slippy each with their own strength. You can be in an arwing, a tank or even on the ground as the piolet himself. Also the # of times you do multiplayer decides how many things you unlock. You even unlock things after 200 multiplayer games. You can unlock differnt piolets, machines, guns, levels etc.
Anyway, great game please consider it.

To other reviewers.

the guys who gave this game lower than 4 stars are pathetic. The only reason they gave it that is because they prolly have an xbox and they have played halo\halo2.(don't get me wrong, excellent game.played it at a friends house.) but to all those gamecube only owners(like me)this is a halo for us. the only difference is that it is in third person istead on first person(like HALO!!!)so to all the guys like me who only own a gamecube, buy this. You won't be dissapointed.this is one heck of a game.

BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game rocks! It's a great continuation of the StarFox 64 game. However, unlike Star Fox 64, there are fewer on-rails missions (i.e you fly the arwing on a preset path). There are 3 aspects to this game: on foot, in a landmaster, or in an arwing. The on foot is extremely fun, although you'll find that the characters move too fast for manuevering in tight spaces. There are TONS of different guns, most of which are insanely powerful. Also you can jump, and roll left and right.
The landmaster is not as fun as the on-foot or Arwing missions, but still, it's useful for anti-aircraft times in multiplayer, or even single player. Instead of that weird machine laser plasma ball thing in Starfox 64, the gun on the Landmaster is a cannon, which suprisingly good against Arwings. It moves pretty slow, which isn't useful in the chaotic, fast-paced multi-player.
At last. The Arwing. This HAS to be the MOST FUN aspect of the game. The Arwing looks a lot better. It still has the twin and then hyper laser upgrades, but one better thing is that you don't have to collect two one-level-up upgrades, but instead you can get a two-level-up upgrade. Very useful in single player and muliplayer. You also ride on the wings of teammates in single player, which happens to be extraordianrily fun.
Single Player doesn't have a very appealing storyline, but it's still fairly well done. Basically, you go around and kill these Aparoids, bug like creatures that can take over machines (except your arwing & landmaster). The missions are pretty simplistic, but still extremely intense, even on Bronze level.
Now Multiplayer is the reason to buy this game. It rivals Halo and Timesplitters. With huge maps and weapons everywhere, the multiplayer is awesome. And that's without the billions of things you can unlock (which I won't tell because they're so awesome ;p). And one of the best things is that you can ride on top of someone's arwing while they're flying it. Or, if it's just 2 vs match, then you can get out of it while it's in the air, and shoot people on the ground. Sadly, there's no capture the flag or other styles; only deathmatch and team deathmatch.
So to end, the graphics of this game are average, obviously an improvement from SF64. The sound is superb. Excellent remixes of previous Sf64 songs bring nonstalgia to veterans of the Sf64 series. Remember, get this game, don't rent it.

This toy ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is the best Star Fox game EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has exellent graphics, great voices, story plot, and they began right where Dinosaur Planet left off.

It has versus mode, 1-P, and an unlocable mini-game.

In one player(1-P) you can ride in the Landmaster, Arwing, on run on foot with weopons like grenades, sniper rifles, machine guns, gatling guns, rocket launchers, nad sensor bombs(mines)on planets like Katina, Corneria's capital,Fortuna, The Aparoid Homeworld, Fichina, and an abondoned gangster base. The goal is to rid the Lylat System of the Aparoids, an species bent on ruling the universe.

In vs. mode, you can go on Titinia's desert, inside Zoness' sea base and a lot more!

*Warning Spoiler ahead!*

In versus mode, you can use more weapons and unlockable characters such as Wolf and Peppy.

On Corneria's capital, Fox lets his guard down and is surrounded by a squad of Aparoids. He spots Wolf in the sky and runs for it. He trips and falls from the top. Wolf saves him and joins Fox's side.

Okay the rest, well, just buy the game and find out!

Best Starfox yet

I just bought this game and it is a boat load of fun. Please don't listen to the reviewers who said it sucked, it would be a big mistake, instead rent it and decide for yourself. If you want my opinion it's one of nintendo's bests, and if you want to play a game with blood and gore(many people complained about the abscence of such things) buy an xbox, but for those of the younger players who want a shoot em up game without all the violence this is perfect, even for adults.

Solid!

Fox has done it again. Nintendo always revamps its games and this is no exception. Graphics are good enough to make Starfox: Adventures look like Starfox 64! Beatiful explosion effects and lasers. Sound is beautiful, gameplay is simple to learn but hard to master. I love this game, and I reccommend it to Starfox veterans or those fresh out of video game boot camp. Speaking of military stuff remember 4 player combat, because someday you'll hear some dude screaming "Remember the Titanian planes!" and then hear his Arwing get shot down.

The Arwing and Falco Return!

All I know about this game is you get to play as Peppy, Slippy, Falco, or Fox in the Arwing, Landmaster tank , or on the ground. The StarWolf team makes a comeback also. This is probbaly going to be more like Starfox 64 but longer, better, and with enchanced graphics. It has a 1-4 player story mode and from what I heard there will be a PS2 and Xbox version also. The extra controller slots will be required for PS2 3-4 Player story mode. Hopefully this game will be more of a sucsess then the older games.
