The Great RPG that Got Away

Were this game to come out not on the Dreamcast but on the PS2 upon it's original release....then right now people would be enjoying Skies of Arcadia Part 3.

Simply put: this is a great game. Great gameplay. Great story. Great characters. Yes, the graphics are outdated. So F'in what. If you are in any way a fan of RPG's...then you owe it to yourself to get this one and enjoy all that this game has to offer.

Skies of Arcadia.

The gem that got away.

A flawed masterpiece...

Standard turn-based RPG battle system, check. Damsel and world in distress, check. Numerous random battles, ugh.

Yet, this game transcends the sum its parts. The story is absorbing, the sail, explore, and discover new worlds aspect is engrossing, and the playable characters (yup, all three of them) are endearing. Isn't that why RPG enthusiasts get such a kick out of this genre. It's the disparate, loner characters, banding together and forming a family, and along the way (if the game is any good) they become our friends.

I highly recommend this game. Look past the out-dated graphics, and keep pushing through those random battles, because what unfolds is definitely worth the trouble.

truly great

not much to say, it's just a great game that deserved a whole lot more sales than it got. if you're the type to play true great games regardless of advertising/sales, you should not pass this game up.

If you missed it on dreamcast...

Now is the time to check it out! It is a port so the graphics will suffer but the game itself is great. Don't miss out.

Still My Favorite RPG of All Time

Skies of Arcadia is a game with a real sense of exploration. The game shuns most cliches of plot and character development by including memorable characters you actually care about rather than cartoon cliches. The gameplay and combat is simple and but addictive and memorable. The game continually expands, dishing up new types of gameplay and unique areas to explore in your airship. Ship combat and the crew system further enhances the variety.

Keep in mind that this GameCube remake tones down the battles significantly, fixing the main problem that some had with the original DreamCast remake. The visuals are very last-generation (maybe even before that), but you'll be caught up so much in the experience that you won't mind.

Little known, but a classic RPG

When first I played Skies of Arcadia on the Sega Dreamcast, I faced an utterly daunting challenge to beat the first boss. Failed at my attempt and hadn't played in a very long while. Recently, I came to purchase the title on the GameCube and I couldn't have been happier. The game itself is a fair challenge to gamers of all ages, and it has an innovative element system unused by any other RPG. Boss battles are a little tedious, rather drawn out by the sheer HP totals of the foes. In all, I do honestly recommend the game to any true RPG gamer, and it's worth the price if you can find it.

YOU MUST BUY THIS GAME! Skies Of Arcadia Legends!

You have to buy this game! There are over 40 hours of non-stop fun! With over 15 different side quests apart from the main one, Skies Of Arcadia Legends is a must buy! Don't worry, there is NO BLOOD or any gross stuff. The sound and graphics are much better than 95% of the other games. The weapons and magic look really cool.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a remake of a game with the same title for the Dreamcast. I never owned a Dreamcast, so I thought I might play it. I became quickly addicted. This is the best RPG for the GameCube.

Vyse, a Blue Rogue, fights the evil Valua Empire with the help of his friends. Yes, the story isn't very oringal. What IS orginal is the ship vs. ship battles. You start with a small ship ('Little Jack') and then later upgrade to a warship called The Delfinus. The graphics are decent, and the story keeps you interested until the end of the game.

If you don't like awesome storylines, dazzling spells and moves, great battle ingines, over a hundred hours of gameplay, ship battles, or tons of weapons, this game isn't for you.
