Great RPG comparable to the Ocarina of time. Most of all great story and characters, a game isn't anything without characters you can identify with.
I did not whant this game to end!!!!

This game is the best game I have ever played. 30-40 hours of game play at least. The graphics are reallly good for a game this long. The plot is the best ever. The fighting system is a little difficult to learn but once you get it it's great. All of the characters are intuitive and fun.
The only problem is the voice acting is sparce to none it is truly sad, but if just that is stoping you from buying it then you're a sad, sad person.
IF you are even thinking about getting this game( and even if your not) go buy it now!! STOP sitting there reading this and go,go buy it, get it now!! it's the best thing that you will ever do!
GREAT!!!!!!!!!

i personally am not much of an rpg fan. i like first person shooters which is like the exact opposite. i just needed a new game and this and pso is what i came across. the beginning was kind of dull until you head off for shrine island which is were the real story starts. this game knocks final fantasy X down the drain. the graphics might not be the greatest, but if you think its all about the graphics, then youre [wrong].
An RPG to Die for

If you haven't beaten Skies of Arcadia: Legends, then you haven't played an RPG. The deepth to the game and the complexity of all the quests,(story or side quest) The story is so deep and amazing that I think it must have taken years to come up with it.
Here's a few tips for you players who are stuck in certain places:
First off make sure you are in good shape before you open the last water door in shrine island, there is a big boss on the other side(HP=1,200 Attack=Blaster(300)).
When your suppost to go to valua after they destroy Pirate Isle, go back to Shrine Island and then sail east.
When your suppost to go to Mambra(in nasr airspace)jus fly SouthEast from Sailor's Island and puncure the Reef then turn a little more south and look for glowing spires.
At the last part of the temple of Pyrnn you have to solve the bolder puzzle to release water into the room to cool the lava. Then you must face the Rockworm(HP=4,200 Attack=Volcanic Balst(500)
To get to Ixa'taka sail south from mambra and when you meet the skyrift follow it west to Horketa.
To get into rixis you have to find the Discoveries(Great Bird, Golden man) Go in the directino the Bird is pointing and look for a small face lookning stature. At the top is Rik'Talsh(HP=6,800 Attack=Feather Slash(1,000)
After you've collected your Choms at the maw of Tartas, head east.
On Daccat's Island your going to need some sirous luck, there are litle symbols that allow you to transfer from Aika to Vyse. There's only one way to do it so if you run out of path turn around. At the end Estra and Sinstra attack(HP=4,500(each) Attack Deaht walts(1,200))
After Daccat's Island your captured by Ramirez and you have to surender.
As soon as you have your new ship, The Delphinus, go and collect as many crew members as you can:(Marco:on the bridge, Polly: Sailors island, Lawrence: Sailors Island, Pinta: Sailors Island, Khazim: Nasrad, Osman: Nasrad, Kafila: Mambra(only if you have a Surian Blade) Medera: Horketa, TakaTaka: Horketa(Only if you've found Ixa'ness Disovery) Hans: Horketa, Domingo: North Ocean
To get through the Dark Rift you must take several vortexes untill you meet Robinson, then go back to the MoonStone room and go through the vortex next to the one that is flashing red.
To find the Ruins of Ice look for a small lighter blue patch. At the end of Glacia you must fight the Veltarn(HP=12,000 Attack Avaluncher(1,800)
At Drangeral Island your Suppost to go throu the Passage with the fan blocking the way, so turn off the fan.
After defeating Galcian(HP=21,500 Attack=Terminal(3,500), and enter soltis by opening the last bottom door at shrine island, use the map as guidence: your trying to get to the other side.
Over all this is a wonderful game that any gamecube owner should get.

This game is just straight up awesome. What's important in a video game is executed to perfection. The graphics are not over the top, the sound is not over the top, and the voice acting is not great at all, but that is ok. They creators of this game focused on the fighting system, and the plot. The only part they forgot, was the ending. The ending is a little weak for the gameplay of 20+ hours I sat through. It's only weak because Vyse doesnt get paired up to either Aika or Fina. Other than that, it was one of my favorite RPG's ever
The Best!!!

I love this RPG!The graphics and storyline are both awesome! The only thing that kind of gets on my nerves is the random battles, but otherwise, this game is great! It's the only game I can think of that explores the sky instead of on the ground.A must buy!!

TO start off,
STORY: In Skies of Arcadia you start as a Member of the Blue Rouges, who are Air Pirates Sailing the Skies in search of treasure.. You Loot, Rob, & Steal. (Interesting Aspect). You end up finding out about a Girl that has been kidnapped by the Armanda and take her back, later the Armanda destroy your home "Pirate Isle" and Take the Girl" Your quest after getting her back is to get the Moon Stones Before the Armanda do.
THOUGHTS: I feel this was closely related to ... from Final Fantasy VII. So if you have played and loved that Game you will probably enjoy this game. The Air Ship & Floating Island aspect is great. Also, remember how in FF7 you could assign the Meta to your weapons? In SOA you can Assign Moon Stones to your weapons giving them Certain Powers. This also has greater affects on certain types of creatures, thus choosing what color of moon stone (Weapon) you would like to use on a particular enemy. Also Like the "Special Moves" you learned in FF7 they are in this game as well, though different, they are activated by Spirit Points. unlike FF7 in which takes many battles to use the Power Attack, In SOA you can use them In every battle for they increase every round, not to mention you can increase them with "Focus" option available every round for every character. Ship battles are interesting though very confusing and long. But as a fresh new addition to the RPG era I would say nicely added. Last but not least I would like to point out the Magic Methods, unlike other RPG's in which have two category's "Heal" "Attack", the spells are based upon what color of Moon Stone you have and different spells are learned on a regular basis. The different spells are related to the power and attributes of Moon stone it possesses making it easier to decide which spell to use on which character.
For those who are more into Puzzle Solving & being on your own this game will not suite your needs, you are stuck in constant "Movie Action" the whole time, thus the game never lets you move onto your own and walks you through entirely (Dragon Warrior Fans DO NOT Buy) The Story's Great and there Is quite a challenge to it though it seems unreasonably too short. (Kind of Like Lost Kingdoms) I am 3/4 through the Game and I have been playing for 11:00 hours.
The Graphics are average, (Ps2 like) I think they could have been rendered a lot better. Game play (Control) was thought out wisely easy to control, and Sound, Well during the times you are on your own (Acutely playing) the Music's ok, but throughout the Video Clips...!, they try putting in a word of some character (Out Of nowhere, annoying!)
If you have been thinking this would be a great game to buy and are checking the Reviews BUY IT, else if you were not to sure of it or were not a big fan of Final Fantasy VII don't buy it.
Best RPG I played in along time.

I loved this game, it was everything I wanted to have and more! You start out as Vyse, a young air pirate in the world of Arcadia. Vyse and his friend (of girlfriend hee hee)Aika are wandering about with Vyse's father, Dyne. All of a sudden, a Valuan ship appears (the main enemy in the game)and Dyne attacks that ship. After the Valuan ship is defeated, Vyse finds a mysterious, unconscious girl on the ship. They take her back to pirate isle (their home)and she tells them her name is Fina. Your adventures start when you and Aika go onto another island to find a crystal that fell there. While you are gone, Pirate isle is attcked and Dyne, his crew and Fina are taken by the Valuan empire. You have to save them and find out who this girl is, then defeat Valua. Adventure after adventure, you think you faced the final boss, but then another one pops up and another and another, until you realize you are only half done with the game! Very addicting and fun RPG to play, no extra-long cutscenes and hidden blah-blahs, just straight forward and a plain, good old game.:)

Yeah, complain about the random battles and dated graphics.
Who cares? This game is fantastic. The storyline is great, the humor is great. Every new ship expansion or base upgrade will cause you to smile. Every new discovery feels like a real accomplishment. This game is excellent. If Tales of Symphonia is half this good, I may never need another Square RPG again.
