WONDERFUL FAMILY GAME!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 6 / 6

My three children and I (ages 9,7,and 6) have always enjoyed playing the Mario Party games together. I read the reviews on Amazon and was concerned about people stating that this game was very different from the other Mario Party games and more destructive. I disagree. I rented it to try it out first and the kids and I agree that this game is just as much fun as any of the other Mario Party games. We still love the other ones as well. The only major difference that I see between Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7 is of course the gameboards and then the fact that Bowser automatically comes out after 4 turns or something like that. In my opinion, it makes the game better. My 6 year old loves it because it often puts her even with everyone else. I highly reccomend Mario Party 7 as a fun source of family fun!

HORRIBLE AND FRUSTANTING!!

It's the worst ever, some of the game levels are very unfair and some of the orbs too. Yoshi orb steals all the orbs in his way, could be 7 or 8 at the time, but playing opposite to Yoshi you don't get anything like it. Very unfair, all the characters should have equal powerful orbs. If you have Mario Party 6, keep it, I'll be selling this one soon.

Great Game But Has Some Flaws.

Mario Party 7, awesome game but has some flaws.

THE GOOD!!!

Great Graphics
The boards are good and I really like Bowser's world, Neon Heights, and Windmillville.
Return of the Mic.
Bowser Time!!!
You can play Dry Bones and Birdo!!
8 player minigames!!

THE BAD.

Toadsworth makes very very annoying sounds!! Get another host!!
They need more four player mini games. Other than that the mini games are fine.
Solo mode very boring. Bring back the one in MARIO PARTY 6!!!
They do not have mic mode!!!

Other than those flaws it is an awesome game I know you will like it!!!!!!

Mario Party 7 and the Pesky Orbs

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 6 / 7

I don't own any of the previous Parties, but I vaguely remember the ones on N64. Mario Party 7's gameplay is chaotic and there are so many chances of getting unlucky rolls and losing everything. Overall the gameplay is light and fun like all Mario games are. Me and three other friends began to play and experienced some interesting features that we never experienced five years ago when we played the first Mario Party-

1. There are six boards, but in several stages obtaining a star changes. In Windmillville, instead of buying stars for 20 coins, you "invest" coins in a windmill, and the one who puts the most coins in it controls the stars in that windmill. In one turn a skilled player can topple the game. Fun.

2. Orbs (items) are weird and there's a variety of them, including one "specialty orb" based on your character. By either using certain orbs on yourself or throwing orbs on spaces near you, it can cause harm to whoever passes it or lands on it, depending on the orb.

3. There's an option called eight-player mode where two players can share half a controller and there are twelve of these games designed for eight players (either four teams of two or a eight-player-royale). Most of these games are simple but still fun.

4. Secret stuff is hard to get. A 20-turn game will earm roughly 400 mileage points (unlocking Birdo and Dry Bones cost 1,000 each), but winning a Solo Cruise game (you vs. CPU in mostly duel games) gets you roughly 600. There are some secret games that cost 3000, so getting those will take many hours.

5. The microphone is handy and is prepared to ignore any distractions from shouting friends. Though possible to play without, it adds interaction to the game. The one problem is that there is only one Single-player Bonus Mic Game where you memorize fruits, so it gets repetitive.

6. Donkey Kong is no longer a player, but when you land on DK spaces you can win coins or possibly stars if you beat him in a DK Duel Minigame. Sometimes there are Multiplayer DK Games, where everybody wins! There are 12 playable characters, Birdo and Dry Bones (a skeleton Koopa?) must be bought.

7. In Minigame Cruise, there are five various competitions in addition to simply playing minigames. My favorite is the Decathalon, where four compete in 10 specific Minigames (all must be unlocked) and get points based on performance. The winner is the one not with the most wins, but with the most points.

Mario Party 7 is a great game to get if you like adventure. Every 5 turns, Bowser stirs up the party with his famous BOWSER TIME and for the last 4 turns he will be watching your every move! The minigames however, are not as much fun if you already own Mario Party 6. Basically a repeat. Some are good and some are horrible and some are plain wacky. The boards are also copies of Mario Party 6. For example, Mario Party 6's Snowflake Lake to Mario Party 7's Pyramid Park are the same thing once you play them. Though these two games are alike, they are the best party games to get for gamecube.

HERE ARE THE RATINGS!
fun A-
adventure B+
voices (on the characters) A+
graphics B+
minigames C-
boards C+
difficulty A+ (which means this is a hard game)

So if I were you, I would get MARIO PARTY 6 and 7! :)

Great game for hours of fun!

Mario Party 7 is by far the best game of the series. I love using the microphone in certain games and it is fun to play this game by yourself or with up to seven friends. The graphics are just what you would expect from any Mario Party game, but the theme of a "cruise" makes the game more adventurous. This game rocks!

I don't know how many rehashes of "MASH 'A' BUTTON NOW!!!" Nintendo and Hudson can dish out, but it never gets old. Mario Party 7 is a great game for any age group. As its name implies, it really is a game for friends to play. Going solo is an expected disappointment as you simply can't make a "board game" fun to play by yourself.

The game is jam-packed full of comic mischief, nonsensical mini-games, and an inane plot that barely ties anything together. It gives the distinct impression that even the development team was having too much fun to try to make sense of anything (the reference to the movie "Titanic" is worth a few good laughs alone). The microphone makes a comeback in this iteration, and is equally as terrible as the last time. The games still have us pressing the same buttons doing the same inexplicable chores for no reason at all.

So why should you buy it?

Because it's pure simple fun! The antics of the entire Mario crowd make for good clean family humor. The microphone may be a piece of junk, but at least you can laugh at your buddy when you hand it to him with full knowledge that he's about to be demolished in the next round. The button mashing may be repetitive, but it's simple enough to enjoy with somebody that's never even touched a video game console. It may not be a landmark in gaming, but it's a great twist in passing the time when your social circle isn't in the mood to go out tonight, or when you want to stay in and play a game with the family. Guys, if you're complaining that your girlfriend or wife doesn't want to play video games, try this one out with her.

Mario Party isn't one of those games you buy, beat, and put down in a month. Instead it's a solid long lasting game you can enjoy time and time again when you have a few friends over. Take a break from the 1st person shooter games and wanton violence. Pop it in, relax, and share some laughs with your buddies. You won't be disappointed.

Is it for your younger Kids?

I have two five year olds that love MArio Party. They have a really hard time playing this version though. the microphone is next to impossible for them to opperate and is not as responsive as I would like it to be. Also the minigames are a little harder this time around. So much that we have to go exteremly slow so the five year olds can keep up even on easy mode. For adults. THis game can be tons of fun. The best part is not the mic games, but the 8 player madness. yes. You have 8 player minigames in this game. Get this game for your grown kids or your grown up friends, but not your young kids.

This game is REALLY fun. i took it to a party, and we were having fun for HOURS! make sure you get the Mic. because some mini games require you to talk into the mic, and what you say actually happens on the screen. the best value is used because its the same game for cheeper. i got mine at game crazy. the game is even fun for 1 player because it has solo mode, where its just like the real thing. up to 8 people can play at once, and they have a controller sharing mode; two peeps on one controler. this game helps with teamwork also because peeps can work togeather to win. this is the best game ive ever played, and well worth the money!
