A Gamecube martini anyone?

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 4

Where shall I start? Well...first, like everyone knows, this is a first person shooter. The graphics will blow you away. The facial expressions are so realistic that I had to look twice before noticing they were computer generated. Also, the levels are great. Flawless imagery. However, there is one small drawback, but hardly enough to drop the rating. The game is quick. What I mean to say is that, it is easy to beat. Another problem I saw is that the enemies take a whole round of bullets to kill, unless shot in the head. Also, there are not many stealth elements. Remember Goldeneye and Perfect Dark? Your heart pounding when you had to sneak up on that guard? Well, there is not a lot of suspense here. Just pure unadulterated shooting. Well, that's three flaws right? Oh well, they are small flaws...because the game is rievting in itself. But, here's a cherry on top...the driving levels. Those were my favorite! The explosions and the stunts! Well enough of this. In two words I sum it up...GREAT GAME! It's worth your while...buy it! I totally recommend it. You wont be disappointed. And if you are...its time you retire as a 00 agent.

GCube's best game...until Nightfire

This was my first 007 game. It's great, and just challenging enough so you can beat it and have a hard, fun time. The missing star? Two player. The levels are tiny and there aren't enough options. Nightfire hits on two-player. The one player action is unbeatable, and great graphics to boot. Great job creating a new plot and not basing it on the movie.

An attempt at Bond. James Bond.

Agent Under Fire was the first James Bond title to appear on current-generation consoles, and its a decent if not spectacular effort. This game is notable in that it doesnt feature Pierce Brosnan's likeness as James Bond, but an entirely new face that seems to draw from all the James Bond actors over the years.

Really, this is an average shooter all around. The enemy AI isn't particularly intelligent, and the graphics are decent but not noteworthy. Bond comes with some extra gadgets, but most of these seem like gimmicks without much versatility. There's a very sci-fi-ish plot here involving clones that seems to stretch believability even by Bond standards, and its capped off by a disappointing non-ending.

The best parts of the game though, are the driving and rail-shooter stages between the first-person levels. At the time it was a pleasant surprise to get a nicely produced driving engine in a shooting game, and rail shooters are always fun for their simplicity in an old-school, arcade kind of way.

I had fun with Agent Under Fire, and its an entertaining game if you go in with the right expectations. Later Bond games are much improved, suggesting that EA did learn from their time with this one. Bond fans can add this to their collection without worry, but hardcore gamers should look for an overall stronger experience.

The Perfect and so far Best 007 Game! From a 13 yr old view

I've been a fan for anything 007 fow a long time now. Ever since Goldeneye launched for nintendo 64, i still pay it. Then came the world is not enough for n64, now i tell you that was a good game. Perfect dark made by the same makers of 007 i thought was better than the 2 just released games. Now i own the ps2 version of it but i've played this game before on GCN but its gonna be worth it. If your a fan of 007 and you like first person shooters, this is a game for you!

4.5 actually

First off, Bruno, Tommorow Never Dies was never released for N64, and second, the last 007 movie-based game was not TND it was The World Is Not Enough. Get your facts straight.

Moving on, i have rented this game 3 times for my PS2 and i loved it. Now tht it is finally coming out for GCN im definately buying it. the multiplayer mode is by far much better than Goldeneye's multiplayer mode. But the story mode just doesnt compare to Goldeneye's. The story mode in Goldeneye is much longer and complex, while as AUF's is on the skimpy side. A high for this game is that is that driving plays a much bigger role in this one than in Goldeneye, and the grafics are much much better. This is kind of like a mix between 007 Racing for PSX and TWINE for N64 (the PSX version stinks). I say buy it.

Better than PS2

If you've played or seen this game on the PS2, you probably know what to expect. But the Gamecube version will have one major improvement over the PS2 game. It's one thing that has vastly improved the multiplayer experience since it was first made famous with Perfect Dark; bots. Computer controlled opponents. Added specially for the GC.

This game is a must play for any first person shooting fan!

When I first heard that this game was coming out i was a bit skeptical because EA games made it. I loved the Bond for the Nintendo 64(Just like everyone else)because it was made by Rare. When I found out that Bond games where going to be made by EA I was a bit dissapointed because even though EA is a good company Rare made the game so great I didn't think that is could get any better.
This game has it's upsides and it's downsides. Lets start out with the upsides. The game looks great. The graphics are very stunning while you are playing the game. The cut-sceens are also magnificent looking and it is almost like you are playing a movie. The sound is also quite nice. The gun shots and people voices sound great. The multiplayer is also pretty fun but there aren't many modes to play and you can only have four total shooters at a time(computer and people). The downsides of the game aren't noticeable right away, but you will know what I'm talking about after playing the game awhile. The controls are a bit odd and takes awhile to get used to it. Also the way your gun shoots is odd. You can see the bullets going almost like they are in slow motion.
This is a great game and the best first-person shooters on the Gamecube. This game is definetely worth a rental for anyone. Even thought it may not be a Perfect Dark it is still a good game.

James Bond: The Ultimate Party Game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 4

Not only does James Bond in Agent Under Fire have great graphics with an exciting 1st player mode full of missions, but it also has a multiplayer mode you can play with your friends all day. It is the best party game since James Bond GoldenEye for the [other] system. James Bond combines adventure with speed and the feeling of being an agent, and has gameplay put to the max. EA games makes a great impression with their first James Bond game for Gamecube.

GoldenEye changed FPS...AUF completes it.

...Now comes Agent Under Fire. Rare's attempts at making a FPS Bond game as good as GoldenEye were weak. They're closest ever was PerfectDark with better graphics, but gameplay not as great and besides...it's not Bond! EA has now stepped into the scene, finishing what Rare left out.
AUF is completely different, opposed to the other Bond games. It's the only game that doesn't follow a movie. It not only has your average "walk around and shoot everyone" missions, but it proudly includes rail shooting and driving missions, holding a similarity to Grand Theft Auto 1-3. It includes awesome cars like the BMW Z8 and 75Oil. There's great looking Bond girls that should have made AUF rated M.
The graphics could have been much better with GC's power. The sound is great. The talking scenes are well done. The music, however, can be frustrating after hours of play.
This game can be easily beaten within 3-8 hours though. The multiplayer is still nowhere near GoldenEye's, but the single player missions definitely make up for it. For, GameCube's first FPS, Agent Under Fire is looking good.

A good start.... but that's about it

The first Bond title for the game cube is a good start, but falls shot. First the good things
*Amazing Graphics : The Graphics on this game are top notch.

*Strong controls : although this game lacks in many areas... the controls aren't one of them

*The car levels are quite fun

now.... the bad things

*The AI in this game is absoloutly terrible! If you're a fan of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, you'll be dissapointed to find out that you won't be able to sneak around to complete your objectives. This game is a good looking Doom.

* Although the Charactor voices do a very good job.... the story is full of holes and sometimes you'll find yourself playing the game wondering... what the hell is going on!

* For a Bond game it certainly doesn't have a Bond feel. There are a grand total of 4 Gadgets in the game (yes I said 4)

* Here's the final draw.... The Multiplayer levels are a joke!I'm a huge fan of the Perfect Dark multiplayer and this game can't even hold a candle to it. The levels are ridiculously small and to top that off.... they aren't even fun to look at.

over all this game seems rushed. it deffinitly could have been A LOT better. Agent Under Fire is deffinitly a renter. If you're dying for a first person shooter, I say wait for Metroid or Pefect Dark Zero. But hey... if you're a doom fan... by all means get this game.
