Surprised they released such a buggy product.

I bought this game tonight & haven't been able to play it more than 5 minutes. It froze my computer once but the biggest problem is just closing the application spontaneously. It's happened several times to my increasing frustration. If this doesn't improve I'll be taking it back to the store.

My computer is a 1700 Athalon 512 RAM Windows 98SE machine.

I bought this game Friday, and it installed fine on my computer. It just won't start up! On the orange splash screen it crashes to my desktop between spreading rumors and polarizing conduits or whatever. Is anyone else having this problem? If so please please e-mail me. Maybe it would fun if I could get the game STARTED. My computer surpasses all of the requirements. I've done everything recommended and it still doesnt work.

Maxis is getting very lazy with their Sims series. I couldn't even get this to run with sound. I could however play it without sound. What fun is that? It is not my system either, since both the Sims and Livin' Large work perfectly fine. Maxis I guess is getting greedy and is no longer making quality expansion packs. I was hoping for a patch for Superstar, but none exist as of now and their technical support wasn't helpful either! I ended up taking this back and I got a full refund. Learn how to program Maxis!

What's the point??

Ok..I have to admit, for awhile I was addicted to the sims-- I mean totally addicted. I had all sorts of crazy dyfunctional families living in the most bizarre houses and wearing the most bizarre clothes I could possibly find. All of my sims were at the top of their career ladders with tons of friends and lots of money. But then I realized... something was definitely missing. The games just werent fun anymore. I even bought Unleashed, Vacation, and Living Large to add something..that missing ingredient. But I still haven't found it. And The Sims now sits on the shelf all alone..and I dont think I ever want to play it again. The little objects are "amusing" for awhile, but then everything becomes too repitive. A game is supposed to take you far and away into a whole different world, but the Sims is almost exactly like normal day life with a few strange objects, perfect weather, and never-aging people. No matter how many new junk Maxis piles into the expansion packs, the game will never have a point. And please, if you already got a lot of Sims products, you really need to stop buying these games. They become a large expense, take up a ton of computer memory, and get pretty boring in a short period of time.

DO NOT BUY!

This Expansion Set is very buggy. Many people are successfully running it but many are not. Check out some of the fan forums at places like TSR Sims Forum and even Maxis' own BBS at their official Sims site.

It looks like a great expansion if only it will work. I am yet to be able to send a Sim to Studio Town without it crashing and corrupting my house files.

If you have had any trouble in the past with Sims expansion kits before, WAIT UNTIL (and if) MAXIS RELEASES A PATACH! DO NOT BUY UNTIL THEN!

This game is great and has a ton of new objects. We can finally all live our dream and become a superstar. A butler can also help you out and help run the house. The only problem is that you can buy this game for less at many other sites or stores. Buy this house somewhere else.

Ok I saw the commercial for this game and i had to have it so I went to get it....I got it home and the installment went great but when i went to play it it would barely run i mean it would freeze completely up and I couldnt even play, I ended up having to lose everything i once earned like 300,000 dollars! Ah. So after I had uninstalled it I returned it got a new one and HA! The same thing happened.... I hate the game only because I can't play it and I want to really bad!... But hey maybe it's just my bad luck...

The sims superstar is a great game to play...if you can get it to work. Ever since I bought it, I've taken it back 3 times, been in tech chat for hours. Not only am I having these problems, but many of my friends and their families are to. The sims superstar expansion is great when it works, but it's not worth the trouble.If you want to continue playing your other expansions, don't buy this.

Okay now I play the sims for hours at a time because im addicted to all of the games, and I own all of them. But I am very dissapointed in this game because even though the new Items are really cool, and I like the new location... Its just not that fun! Its almost impossible to get famous or even to get one star, and its truly impossible to make friends with anyone remotely famous. This game was a huge let down for me and all my friends who play. I can tell you though if your looking to play the sims then your best bet is to buy all the other great ones like Hot Date or the best one Makin Magic. Definately do NOT buy this game!
