A Worthy Expansion

I bought this game three days ago, and I expected this pack to be better than any of the others. I wasn't disappointed, and this pack IS the best except for possibly Hot Date. the new objects are awesome, with everything from music video shots to a karaoke stand. There are featured celebs in the game. they are Avril lavigne, Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, and Christina Aguilera. Most of the music in the original Sims games have benn awesome, and Superstar even broadens that music style to new limits. For one thing, now there are techno themes within the game, and they sound GREAT! There is also the classic music that you would expect from Hollywood, and that's cool too. There are awesome new build tools, with new fencing, walls, and floors. As you'd expect, they are stuff like blue screens, red carpet, and Hollywood-style star floors. In Superstar, you must contact an agent, and then you are on your way. There are 10 rankings of fame, and with each step you gain access to more objects. For example, you don't even have to be ranked to do karaoke, but you must be at least a 4.5 rank to access the movie set. It should also be noted that it is MUCH harder to gain levels than that in just normal jobs, but the hours spent advancing are worth it. You will gain obsessive fans, press, and even a wide range of awards for being famous. Something I find fun to do is give out autographs and kisses to loyal fans, and just generally draw a large crowd. Another cool feature is the fact that once you are a big shot, you get a snazzy new limo to ride in to and from Studio Town. It is much cooler than that black thing, also! Superstar is everything you would expect on a sim's road to fame, and it is definitely a must-buy for any fan. Oh, one more thing, there are three career choices. They are music, fashion, and acting. The good thing is, you can do any of the three whenever you want once you are famous enough! The new objects and animations are worth the price of admission alone, especially for only 30 bucks. Superstar will find a place in your sim's heart, and you should buy it right now if you are interested in the wonderful game, The Sims! My Rating-10!!

If your thinking on which expansion pack you want to get, it's this one or unleashed both of them are great! I play them all the time.If you don't believe just ask around, they'll tell you the same thing. WELL JUST A HELPFUL HINT, HOPE IT HELPS.

Overall, this game is challenging. I advise playing it ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE TIME!! You have to know how to deal with the toughies in Studio Town, the newest edition to an evergrowning Sim City. ...

the sims superstar is the best!

I loved the sims Superstar. There's only one word to describe this game.......Wow!! It is the best! u need to hire an agent which is cool . once u get promoted u can get alot of different limo colors! It is the funest out of all. u can hire a butler for $500 a day. it is cool because you have to work to be a superstar, you go from singing karaoke to walking down the runway. i play it all the time!

Great Game but.....

The Sims Superstar is definitely a great improvement to The Sims collection. Currently, I own 4 Sims, the original, Livin' Large, Vacation, and recently Sims Superstar. I feel there are some improvements somewhere but not everywhere. For example, the Studio Town is probably the best addition to the Sims. You can model, record music, but it doesn't come easy. Some of the people will reject you if you have no experience once so ever. If you know how to play or don't, The Sims is probably the easiest simulation and strategy game in the industry. It doesn't take alot to learn. It is a great game, but I don't understand why they couldn't put two expansion packs together. Plus The Sims 2, which is arriving in 2004 is going to be a big hit especially because it is in 3-D and is definitly like "REAL LIFE". Can't wait for that. But for now, the Sims is okay and has some improvements. I would reccomend this to any player, except take the Teen Rated thing seriously. Some themes aren't really appropiate for some kids. Have fun!!!

Superstar was not as good as it seemed

Well when I heard about Sims Superstar I was really excited. I bought the game right after school the day it came out and for the first few days it was great. But them it got bad. It is really hard to become famous and if you sign the contract you have to go to studio town alot or you get fired. The mini games are boring after a while and hard. Basically the mini games are guessingand hopeing that your right. Also the butler does almost nothing at all. He makes meals, cleans, and dismises visitors. Superstar is also very slow and crashes alot. It was a good game for the first week but then...............3 stars.

What did this expansion pack bring to the sims?

I dont know what was going on but everytime i visited the studio town, the program automatically shut down and jumped out to windows without any warning. So i could barely think that i would really enjoy the fun of trying to be a superstar in this expansion pack. By the way, I made a lot of training before i go to that town for gaining "fame". But everywhere i was banned for the reason of insufficient stars, not knowing where i should go and what i can do, just wandering around and finally worn out.(if my computer were not crashed, which allows me to bring my sims home.) All my families in the last expansion pack unleashed were settled well, but after the installation of the superstar they were all changed by their interests and personalties, can no longer get alone with the others well, and, most annoying, the friendship between them and their friends went into a chaos. So i could only delete them all and remade.... I really enjoy playing the sim series games, and at least, superstar increased my program-performing speed and fixed the computer crashes of visiting the downtown area(probably has been moved to the studiotown...) So approximately this expansion pack can be called satisfying

Another expansion...

Not that it's not a good game, but Maxis just made too many expansion paks for The Sims..from Livin' Large to Superstar, it's been 7 expansions (including the Deluxe Edition), and the qualities of the expansion keeps on getting worse and worse (even though Superstar was a little bit better). It's time to stop buying these expansions and wait for The Sims 2 to come out, so you can uninstall The Sims (and its expansions) to free some memory on your computer. After installing Superstar, the gameplay was slower on my computer, it wasn't as smooth as before. If I have patience to play this game, this expansion should be pretty good (you have to spent a LOT of time in this expansion, and double that a LOT of time because the gameplay is slow). So buy it if you really like this series, but don't buy it so you can save money to buy The Sims 2 and free some space on your computer.
