Fame all around!

The Sims Superstar is ok, if you want to become famous! But if you want to stay at home and have parties then you have to get another expansion pack. Once you begin trying to become famous you have to visit Studio Town reguarly, and practice which gets boring really fast, thats all i have to say :D

Is "The Sims: Superstar" Really Worth It?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not so sure about this new "Sims" expansion pack, "The Sims: Superstar." Is it just me, or is Maxis overdoing it a little? I mean, this is the SIXTH expansion pack for this game, and although they've been pretty good so far, I'm getting kind of tired of it now. It really seems to me like their running out of ideas (or trying to boost their sales by leeching off of the "American Idol" hype). On top of that, you can ALREADY become a movie star, fashion model, or singer through the other expansion packs; why would you want to follow them to work? Isn't that what you do in "Sim City (1-4)"? Isn't the main difference between "Sim City" and "The Sims" supposed to be that in the latter you only follow them to work and in the former you follow them everywhere else? And let's not forget about the fact the "The Sims" takes up massive memory on your hard drive (I know mine will probably explode if I add another expansion pack). So, before all of you Sim fanatics out there blindly rush out to buy this on May 13, just ask yourself one question: "Do I really need another 'Sims' expansion pack?" If they answer is yes, then go right on ahead; but if not, don't waste your money if you don't have to. After all, it's just a game, right?

The Sims Superstar Sure To Be a Hit

First and foremost, The Sims (all) is one of my all time favorite pc games and frankly, one of the best games ever made!! They way you can control some one that's like you or someone completely different is soooooooo cool! Everyone thought that The Sims Unleashed was going to be the last of EA and Maxis' Sims Game, but boy were they wrong. It will keep on getting better with every new Sims game they make. So I highly recommend that every Sim game owner buy The Sims Superstar. I can't wait untill May 19th!!

Not worth it.

I love The Sims and all its subsequent expansion packs, so don't get me wrong; Super Star is excellent, especially compared to other other games out there. -But compared to the other Sims expansion packs? Well, in my opinion, its the black sheep of the family.

The whole premise of this pack is that your Sims get to go to Studio Town and pursue fame, instead of having a humdrum, everyday job. This sounds good, but in practice its highly annoying. In order to stay in good standing with the public and avoid a fame demotion, you have to take your Sim into Studio Town practically EVERY DAY, and stay there in real time (no more fast forward mode while Daddy is at work!) It gets incredibly tedious. In addition, in order to advance, you not only have to keep your Sim's happiness level high and supply him with the appropriate friends and skills, but now you have to suffer through little guessing games, where you choose the right sequence of buttons or get demoted. What's worse is these sequences are random, so there is no way to memorize them and breeze through it! This is not right, Maxis!

Then there's the Obsessed Fan; a non-playable character that follows you around if you don't pay attention to your adoring public enough. While a cute idea (he goes through your trash can and takes pictures!), it can quickly get annoying, and I have not yet figured out how to get rid of him.

All in all, I'd say skip this expansion pack. Its not worth it.

Very Dissapointed ..

Okay now I play the sims for hours at a time because im addicted to all of the games, and I own all of them. But I am very dissapointed in this game because even though the new Items are really cool, and I like the new location... Its just not that fun! Its almost impossible to get famous or even to get one star, and its truly impossible to make friends with anyone remotely famous. This game was a huge let down for me and all my friends who play. I can tell you though if your looking to play the sims then your best bet is to buy all the other great ones like Hot Date or the best one Makin Magic. Definately do NOT buy this game!

The Sims Superstar has just been released!

Why did I not give this game 5 stars if I love it so much? The answer is simple: a five star game has everything that a good game needs, plus much, much more. The adverge game would be 3 stars. So, by rating this game 4 stars, I am saying that this game is very very good.
If you are thinking of buying this game, but you are not an experenced sims player, I wouldn't recomend it unless you want to spend hours figuring out what to do. But, if you are already a sims-lover and you want a little bit of a challange, this game is for you!
This game is truly a simulation of real-life celeberties. To become a sims superstar, first you must go through 10 levels of fame, filling up a half a star at a time (Total of 5 stars). Be sure to pay close attention to ALL of your fans and always be friendly, or you may end up with an obsessed fan who follows you everywhere and even digs through your garbage! If you don't want to drop out of your current career track, you can always just live like a star! New items include a satalite dish, new tv, skydiving simulator, new pool table and piano keyboad. There are plenty of new social interactions that will keep you entertained for hours and even some animated versions of some real celebrities. This includes Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Avril Lavigne, and Christina Aguilera.
So buy the Sims Superstar today!

This Exp pack really caught my eye. I have been a fan of the Sims since the start and I am a major downloader and most of my computer is dedicated to the Sims. This Exp is really fun and much more challenging than the last ones, which I really enjoy. There are more options than the last but it has a tendency to really run slow (which I am aware that some of that is my fault since much of my memory is sims stuff) and after a while, it begings to feel like all the others. BUT I still really like it and recomend it to all sim players, either new or old!!!!

fun, fun, fun!

I just started playing the sims again, and it is really fun. I like going to the studio town and performing, but it is really hard to make good friends, in a matter of time (at studio town). Your comfort bar, energy bar, etc. are constanly decreasing, and sometimes your sims are not even in the mood to perform, which wastes your trip. Plus, there are many things going on at once, which may freeze up your screen, so save from time to time! But, overall, this game is fun, I like it much better than the The Sims for PS2.
