Totally changes gameplay

OKay, yeah I loved the sims 2, but this game is a must have! I love the downtown, scope room, matchmaker, pkus the turn ons and offs help a lot if you know hat you want. The cars are cool, you can drivr em to workm or if you're a teen you can div them to school. Turn on and turn offs are like preferances, like if you want them to be a vampire or wear swinsuits or have brown hair. There are also a lot of awesome new items, I would get this before open for buisness if I were you! Sorry about spelling, my keyboard is messed up.

Fans have been wanting cars for 5 years now!!! If your a sims fan then get this expansion cause youll love it! Its got night clubs,vampires,new houses in downtown area,dining,dating,group fun, also some new furniture,new clothes, new hairdo's,cars(i love the cars cause now you can take the kids to school and take yourself to work or to downtown. This expansion is worth it! You will have a blast playing it!

This expansion pack is good because you can finally give sims a car, driveway, etc. Your lot is still disconnected from the other homes, but the ability to just drive to the city (or work, if you miss your ride) is great! Sadly for those of us who enjoy the game mostly for its interior and architectural design elements, I doesn't seem like this expansion pack lends many more exterior/interior design options (that aren't limited to being in a club or restaurant). Overall a very amusing game. The pleasure seeker personality option is pretty funny, too.

Going to community properties is finally fun and worth while. I enjoy going to the city more than any other neighborhoods that have ever existed in the Sims games, even the first ones. Either for hanging out in groups, going out with a friend, dating, an outing with the family, or even just going out on your own Night Life makes going out fun! There are clubs with flashing colored cealing lights, a dj booth, bars, resteraunts, bowling alley's, romantic gardens, fancy art galleries, more interactions and objects to make the game more fun to play. The best feature though is the cars, I almost forgot! I have always wanted a car in Sims and now there there. From affordable to farari in the color of your choosing you can drive to work, even late, take your kids to school if they miss the bus, and forget about calling a taxi now that you have your own ride! I highly recomend this expansion, it is great.

This Expansion Pack definitely did NOT disappoint me! If you're worried about it slowing your computer down, don't be! It has a new and cool way of traveling! As soon as you select the option, go to community lot, it will give you a menu, you will be on your neighborhood's list of community lots, but, click on downtown, obviously. It will, too have a list of clubs.

This adds some of the coolest clothes I have ever seen in the Sims franchise! Now I don't really care for my custom content, now that I have really cool clothes from nightlife! But most of them look like clubbing outfits, hence the Expansion Pack... it adds a lot more cooler clothes to the formal section!

There aren't THAT many new residential lot objects. It does add some cool carpets... not in build mode, it is the same as the Sims 1, which is really cool! I really wanted the rugs like there were in the Sims 1.

You do get garages and cars, but I, myself have not figured out how to connect a garage and a garage door. It keeps telling me to put it between the driveway and the extension or something. Oh well, that's why the trusty move_objects on is there to help with any weird problems in buy mode!

Say bye bye to those pesky carpools. You can now drive to work and drop your kids off at school. The turn ons and turn offs aren't really what I expected. I wish they added more turn offs. Like eyes for instance. They could of also added drop toddlers and babies off at day care function to get rid of the pesky nanny.

This expansion pack contains numerous bugs! Moreover, it DOES NOT FIX the numerous bugs that were contained in the previous expansion pack, University.

If you have a remote toy car on a lot it causes the blank memory bug. If you have too many NPCs coming to a lot it can cause the portal that generates NPCs to cease working and invisible NPCs to generate on your lot causing the memory to overload and the game to slow down so much that you think your PC has stopped running. (This is known as the NPC/Slow Down Bug) If you have too many characters and Elders die then you can end up with what they call the Elder Bug which results in an elders image remaining in the lot splash screen after they die, no tombstone and no inheritance.

These are KNOWN bugs and are not caused by viruses, spyware, adware, computers that need upgrades or third party hacks. Moreover, that's just a SMALL SAMPLE of the bugs in this game! Just search their official BBS on The Sims 2 official website for "patch" or "bug" and a host of posts by their customers will show up. They are far too numerous to list in one review!

It seems that Maxis/EA is more interested in producing expansion packs that are too buggy to run properly than to create a quality game.

It is anyone's guess if these serious problems will be fixed in an upcoming patch. I wish I could get my money back!!!

I really wasn't expecting this game to be as great as it is. I love the fact that you can now own cars, go downtown, meet downtownies, do group socials, and of course meet vampires, they are not always easy to find, you just have to be persistant, eventually your sim will see on, and like my sims can become friends, from there your sims will never be able to go into the sunlight, unless they reverse the spell by drinking a potion. Also the ideas of the sims being able to have a garage, or carport is also great, to protect it from burgulars, and the elements, the sims don't have any elements, thats the one thing missing from this game.Last summer my friends thought that I was crazy because I was spending hours playing the Sims 2, until I let one of them play my game, that was all it took, she spreaded the word around about how much fun the game was, now the whole neighborhood has gone out and bought the Sims 2, the University, and just recently Nighlife.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!

i've ben playing the sims since i was 7, so i know every bell and whistle. this is a big step for the makers and it is the best step they ever made! why?? because....

1. sims 2 is sooo realalistic!

2. Nightlife is cool because you can get cars (good variety) and you can become a vampire!! and there is a new dating system that is a little hard at first but it's cool!

3. the dating part is fun because you can go to so many restraunts and after the date u can get a variety of gifts
1. flowers
2. a rose
3. a letter
4. a flaming bag of poo that can not go out unless stomp it, but u can catch on fire from it.
5. and i think there is more though

4. becareful though when your on dates though, many things could go wrong like the waiter could drop food on you or mrs. crumplebottom will lecture you.

CONS
1. the game is a little slow but you have to give it time!

OTHER
i would buy the players guide if i were u. i did and it helped soooo much!

A close second to Open for Business

This expansion adds a LOT to the game. I rank it second to Open for Business but it is a close second.
