I have seen the preview and thought it was excellent! This is a Maxis genius; huge fan that I am, I cannot wait for this newest sequel. Something different for a change, you can really imagine what can be a creative and fun. The Sims2 has for the first time ever, DNA and having biracial families which will give the game a exciting new edge. I have all of the titles to the Sims' games and Sim City. All I can say is, I can't wait, hurry up, the fans are waiting!!!!

Say "bye-bye" to your social life!

Ah, the Sims. Wonderful little creatures that obey our every commands, making us feel like God, only without some smart-a$$ coming along and nailing things to cathedral doors.

You're doubtless quite familiar with the Sims as a premise. Basically you create and control people. You run every aspect of their lives. You make them do their bidding, and if that means building a house full of nothing but wooden furniture and fireplaces, then by gum, you can do that!

"Sims 2" is a massive improvement over the original game. It took everything that was good about the original and basically set it to eleven, while toning down a lot that wasn't so great (you don't have to micromanage your Sims nearly as much). With this game you get a whole new set of bells and whistles, including a 3D enviroment, Sims that actually age and will eventually die of old age (provided you aren't the sort who tells them to go swimming and then deletes the ladder so they can't leave the pool. Mwa-ha-ha-ha!), new jobs, new aspirations, new gizmos, new building options, etc, etc!

It can be kind of overwhelming at first, but if you start out small the game will guide you, and you'll soon be running people's lives just like that one aunt you have who thinks she knows exactly how everyone should do things and loves to tell you, at length, about how you're messing up your life!

If you like playing games in Matrix mode, this is for you

The title says it all.I've played 10 minutes of the sims 2 and I couldnt stand it. Unless you have a very very very fast computer with the most expansive video card out there, this game is going to run slow. It ran so slow for me I couldn't even bother to play it.

Thank god this was a gift, but too bad there wasn't a receipt. If there was a receipt I would've returned it in a flash.

So unless you have a $4,000 computer, don't get this game.

Need it! Want it! Must have it!

My only complaint or concern about this game is why are they (EA Games) torturing us by making us wait SOOO LONG!!! We've been waiting for this game ever since we heard about it when I bought Making Magic for my daughter for Xmas. I'm dying, here! I've got to have it? Please???

Sims 2 is absolutely everything that I was hoping for and even a little more! I have been a huge sims fan ever since the first Sims was released and have kept up with all of the expansion packs and counsel titles and finally here it is, Sims 2 and I can honestly say that I am not the least bit disappointed what-so-ever!!! I spent all last night and today working on one of my families and have created the best house of my simming career so far. I am truly amazed at the possibilities in this title.
For all of you tht liked the original series, go out and pick up Sims 2. There is no way at all that you will be disappointed. Get the game!

The game has great graphics and is in a 3 dimerionsial word! Unlike the 1st one it has beleiveable humanlike charcters! You have to buy this game it is GREAT!

Not bad if you can get it to work!

My daughter got this for Christmas and we spent hours downloading it at home and we could never get it to start up and play, after doing much troubleshooting with it we found out from their website that we weren't the only ones. Apparently, you have to have a relativily new computer to get it to work, so we had it open and couldn't return it anywhere, we took it to Grandma's house who has a better computer and downloaded it and it will at least turn on there (sometimes). Most of the time, we have to save it every 5 minutes because we don't know at what point it will lock up and have to start over. It takes forever to make a person. But if it worked right (in a perfect world) it would be a great game. It costs alot to take a chance on IF it will work.

Although it has added features over Sims Deluxe. It does crash quite frequently. I hate that a child has to be related to a parent. I have a better time playing Sims Deluxe then this. Also the game moves at a snails pace.
