Good Game But I Bought It For Too Much

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 5

This is a good game. The graphics are wonderful and the ideas are good. It's one of those games in which you need to spend time. Unfortunately I bought it for too much. I purchased the game for $40.00. It was not worth the price. Because it's now $20.00 i would buy it.

Extremly challenging, but fun

Simcity 4 is by far the most challenging game Ive ever played. It took restarting my city neary ten times to actually get a propering city that actutally made money on its own. Its worth the time though, when you get your city to around 500,000 or so citizens, you really start seeing the cool residential and commercial buildings. The biggest problem I encounter is the constant no job sign that pops up in my residential districts even when I have compatible commercial jobs to match the income level right next door. Overall I think this game is worth all the frustrations and time.

Impossible!

I bought this game, expecting it to be as fun and exciting as my Simcity 3000 Unlimited. Boy was I wrong! Unlike SC3000, anything you build costs money to maintain. Even the water pumps. Its impossible to keep your money in a positive balance. I never play that game anymore because its sooo impossible to play. I can't believe my boyfriend wasted 50 bucks on it for me!

Fun, but too buggy

SimCity 4 is nice, but the game is terribly buggy. Mine has crashed 5 times in the 4 hours I've played it, and I have a stable system. Before buying this game review SimCity user forums to decide whether the game is stable enough for you...

If you have the power

The game is as great as any previous SimCity version, and with more features, and amazing graphics. Unfortunately, to run all that, you need one heck of a computer. My P4 1.3 MHz with 256MB RAM can barely handle a medium size city. I'm buying more RAM because it's definitely worth it.

The new region feature isn't bad, the only noticeable problem is the size of the individual cities are smaller now, so you cannot build that city with a million people. You are, however, now able to build a completely industrial city, a rich suburb, a commercial center, etc, all in the same region. It isn't a revolutionary change, but it's a somewhat welcome one.

The graphics are great, what is to be expected of a new SC. The street level detail is unbelievable, with children playing, dogs walking, cars going to actual specific destinations, and other crazy things.

I've had the game for two weeks and it has only crashed on me once. That's still too many times, and Maxis needs a patch. We don't expect anything less.

It's a Good Game!!

Pros:
A good Game with very good graphics.
Can put your sims from "The Sims" into the game.
Cons:
Very hard to play game, you have to be very strategic.
I've been ran out of town twice.
You need a monster machine to run it on.
Takes a while to install.

Despite all the cons, I still like the game. I don't want any game that I play 40 dollars for and beat it in one day, plus I have a pretty good machine. Maybe one day I can win and become senator!!

Amazing city simulator

I've gotten Simcity the past weekend and I was glued to the PC every night when I got back home until 1 am. It's really addictive...

Ever dreamt of having the city of your dreams? Well, you can now build your very own! You can customize the land: add mountains, valleys, trees, exotic animals, rivers, etc etc.
When you're finished you can start laying the foundations of your first buildings. Will you have a powerful but polluting energy generator coal powerplant or install a moderate gas one?
Will you dedicate more funds to establish a complex road network or favor the mass transit system? Will you treat your trash or just dump it anyplace?
Decisions like those are to be taken at every moment and the success of your city depends on them!

One main feature Sim4 has is the ability to play with multiple cities simultaneously. You can start a city with the goal in mind to make it become the heavy industry center of your country, while making its neighbor the pole of wisdom and culture. And you can connect them so your sims can live in one city and work in the other!

Overall this is a really addictive game but keep in mind that you need a powerful PC to play it. Mine is P IV 1.5 Ghz with 256 RAM and the game drains all the resources from it, enabling a barely playable game.

It Kick BOOTY

This game is very fun, it has the three mode system. This new Three mode system is incredible and awesome. The three modes are Mayor, God, and Sim. Mayor mode Is your normal Simcity exprience, building/expanding your city. God mode is were the real fun comes in you can "test" your fire department you can unleash a robot or shape the terrain to help your people. Sim mode makes you need the Sims the EA game but gives an add level of difficulty to this game. The one only problem with this game is the money that you have to start with which is why I use cheats. But overall 5/5 stars I will play this game forever, oh and it has gameplay so much that you litterally can't put it down.

Maxis Recovers!

After playing The Sims Online (never buy it), I thought Maxis was taking a plunge. I thought wrong, and this game proves it. This game is fun in every aspect and takes most of the tedious things away. You will find every moment enjoyable to the last drop (if there was a last drop). Nothing is more rewarding than having 1000's of fake people love/hate you, while you build them a Major League Baseball field or obliverate them with meteors.

You will not regret buying this game!

Best Sim City Yet!

Maxis has taken the best from Sim City 2000 and Sim City 3000 and put it into this sequel. The player has lots of control over many aspects of the city, but not control over the sims. You have to be smart and plan well in order for your city to grow the way you want it to. I especially like the long-term aspect of the game. If you let a city age, it will become better (as the population becomes smart--if you have adequate schools). With the expansion set, the game is even better!
