I don't get it, I just don't get it. Can someone please entice me here on what's so special about this game? Over the years, my video game wisdom has allowed me to open my mind to mediocre products, but Animal Crossing is not, I repeat, not an exception. This game has absolutely nothing to offer. Poor graphics, poor "real life" enhancements, and worst of all, you get the feeling you've died and went to a poor man's Roley Poley Oley land! If that's your preference, give me a ring, I'm willing to trade this game for a used toothbrush!
Seriously, this is not a joke. I've forever been a fan of "real life" concept games, and after reading the promising reviews and appraise, I was confident this would be one of the best titles for my GameCube. To my surprise, Animal Crossing was appalling from the second I starting playing it. "Well, did you even give this game a try?" Yes, I did. From the kindergarten train ride, to working at the local market, to upgrading my home with useless items, I found myself playing this garbage enhanced title for hours upon hours before finally coming to my senses. I told myself time and time again, just keep playing it, keep playing it, and keep playing it, well after about a week or two playing for a couple of hours every other day, I had to give it up. I had to face reality, and realize this was one of the worst gaming experiences in my lifetime.
Super Nintendo level graphics, Atari level sound effects, and slow gameplay, make this title one of the most disappointing games of all time. You couldn't pay me to play this game. I did like the real-time concept, and a few other small features, but Nintendo just couldn't pull it together to make a good game. Yes, many others enjoy this game, but I don't see how. Younger children may find something useful out of this, but even younger children should know there's a lot more to the capacity of Nintendo's power, and what they could have done with this game. This game deserves a big two thumbs down.

I bought this game for my five-year-old son who was insane with jealousy over my Harvest Moon game. I thought this one would be more to his liking. It turns out our entire family LOVES Animal Crossing. We enjoy setting up the houses, sending each other presents, and visiting each other's towns. I have found the game to be a little addictive, but I also find that it is teaching the children time and money management, debt control, etc. A very fun and cute game!

Worth every cent of your money. I'd pay 60 or 70 bucks for it if I knew it were this good. My friends kept saying it's a game for babies but they didn't play it. They couldn't have been more wrong. This game actually goes along with the seasons, the time of the day, and has a calender built it. Amazing. There are days that people celebrate a holiday like Thanksgiving, the townsfolk of your town are all there at a table eating a feast. On halloween, people are outside trick-or-treating. You actually have friends in your village that move in and out of your town. You can get to know people of your village and in retrun you get furniture or items or even money. you can send letters to your friends and they send you one back. Theres a local shop owned by Tom Nook, and as you go through the game, the shop gets bigger and bigger. From a Nook and Cranny to the size of a Macy's. You have a house that you have to pay off and you can put your furniture that you bought at Nook's to make your house look really cool, in fact, there are people in the game that RATE your house and send you a letter of how good and clean your house is. If you have a friends memory card, you can put it in Slot B and go visit it to see his townsfolk and buy things from his shop, because EVERY town is different. You can go fishing and bug catching. You can donate your fish and/or bugs to a museam in your town because they start out with nothing :(, or you can sell them to Nook for a certain amount of money (or as they say in the game, bells) depending on the rarity of it. You can also dig up fossils and send then to a Fossil Company thing in which they convert your fossils into real bones or a dinosaur, which you can donate to the museam or put in your house. You buy clothes and even make your own texturn patterns for your shirt and hat. There are some furniture items that are only available for one day, like on Halloween, you get halloween style furniture, or on a day they made up called Harvest moon in which theres a giant full moon out that night, you can a HUGE moon to put inside your house, which really goes well with the space theme. These items you can sell for a great amount of money but you cannot buy back from him. Sometimes there are special visitors that come to your town like Saharah, she sells RARE carpets and Wendell sells rare wallpapers. Katrina (a fortune teller) will set up a tent in a random place in town. You go inside and ask for your fortune what she tells you ACTUALLY happens to you, like she'll say the townsfolk will feel uncomfortable around you, and your friends will actually run away from you. This game is perfect for relaxing when your done playing grand theft auto vice city. It's a game you can come back to and time because it not the same ol' thing over and over, its very unique and I absolutely love how it turns dark and 10 o'clock during our time and its snowy when you play in January. I recommend this game to pretty much anyone.
What a Game!!!

WOW! I can't believe how much fun this game is! The whole 'real time' thing is really cool. You get on, and if it's dark outside, it's dark on the game. Tom Nook's general store "Nook's Cranny" closes at 10:00 and re-opens the next day at 9:00.
When you get in the game you have to name your character and the town you live in, the only problem is that you only have 1000 bells (the currency in the game) and the teeny tiny house you get costs 19,800 bells. So you have to work part-time in Nook's store. He gives you lots of odd jobs to do, such as posting adds for his store and running packages to and fro.
There are endless things to do, you can fish, shake trees for cherries, 100 bells and other things (but be warned! You can knock a beehive out... and I'll let you figure out what happens next!) You can change your clothes, do favors for neighbors, mail letters...
There are lots of neighbors to talk to, and new ones are always moving in. Sometimes they'll send you letters with gifts attached!
I'm yet to find the 'end' of THIS game!
This is an awsome game I'd reccomend to ANYONE!
Who knew chores could be so much fun

Move to a new town. Make friends with the neighbors. Send letters. Catch bugs. Go fishing. Do mundane tasks and sell items to help pay off your house debts. Decorate your quarters. Visit and trade with other towns. Design patterns for clothes and wallpaper. From what I had heard and seen of Animal Crossing, it looked awfully boring. I mean, who could enjoy a game where you spend all day running errands for the villagers? But as soon as I started my own game -- my own life -- I understood why so many people get lost in Animal Crossing. Like Harvest Moon before, it's simple, yet rewarding in its own, subtle, realistic ways. While I was disappointed for several reasons as what Animal Crossing doesn't offer, there becomes enough to do already, all based around a real-time clock. That's right! The sun doesn't go down until your REAL sun does. Winter won't come until it's really snowing outside. Certain days hold certain events, but be aware that some days will become a drag for this reason. Yet my favorite aspect of Animal Crossing, though, is the ability to have you and, say, three other family members live in the same town. What one player does when it's their turn affects the other players' lives. I found great joy in littering my brother's yard with oranges and to see his surprise when he logged on. Of course, all good things come to an end, and soon you'll grow weary of Animal Crossing's cycle. It never ends, there's no clear finish, and there really is only so much one can do day after day.
Best Game EVER!!!

Besides AC:WW ((Which came out about a year ago)) this game is my FAVORITE GAME EVER!!! However, different people will have mixed feelings about this game. Some people find it extremely boring, while others find it fun and interesting. It just depends. Its not just a bad game because one person calls it boring. Lots of other people think its fun, like ME! ^_^

To some of you this game may seem boring and to others of you this game will seem like the best game ever. If you like to play a game based on real life then this is the game for you. You can do all kinds of things that a person does like fishing shopping celebrating the holidays etc. If you don't like doing that kind of stuff then this isn't the game for you. I'm not suggesting that you buy this game because its the best ,but if you think your interested then sure . I personally loved this game even if it did get boring sometimes, but hey it gives you something to do.
Its fun and educatiano!!!!!!

This game will be one of the greatest games ever for any system. In this game you can do just about anything. You can get a job, save a duck who will give you good items (you don't have to save him), make your own patterns for clothes, plant trees, chop em' down, you can even get attacked by bees if you shake a tree. I own super smash bros. melee and u get trophies from Animal Crossing. Ever since I saw those trophies I wanted the game. The towns are never the same on two games, and the people in your town are always different from your friends. You can visit a friends town and get new items and fruits, the animals in your friends town will start talking about you over there, you can even have someone from thier town move into yours. One of the many quests in the game are to find NES games. But its not as easy as it sounds. You can go months without finding any at all, but thats the point of the game. I am not even sure if the game is ever over, but you can view the credits on Saturday nights at the train station from a dog who even sings you a nice song. One of the best features is the GC to GBA linking feature. You can design patterns for free, visit an island to get money and other helpful items, and even play NES games on the go (after you find a Nintendo and games for it).You can have up to 4 people on one memory card. One for each house (or shack) there is. Your house can grow and even earn points for how stylish it is. You can rob the lost and found and pick up stuff from the dump. Sometimes there are just one time offers at the store at a certain time on a certain day for just that day, and if you miss it thats to bad. You are going to have to buy this game to experience it all but this is one thing you won't want to miss.
