Still Playing

One of the most annoying thing about buying video games for your children, is once you buy them they play them a few times and then get bored with them. Not so with this game, I bought it for my daughter's birthday 2 years ago and she still plays it, I think a lot of it is due to the real time aspect of the game; when it is winter here, it is winter there; when it is night here, it is night there (as long as the date and time are correct on your game cube). If you have an extra memory card you can create a second town and characters from the two towns (with both memory cards in) will move between the towns. I have played it a few times as well and it is a lot of fun.

Great game.

This is a great game and it has no violince but you can get bitten by a mossito or get stung by a bee.You get to shop, talk to villagers, mail letters, have a mayor, visit other towns(only if you have 2 membery cards with a town on them),travel by boat(only if you have a Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance Cable and a Game Boy Advance. What I (HATE) about this game is that you never, ever, ever get to see your animal crossing parents!!!!If you want to pay of your debit to Tom Nook(shop keeper),you HAVE to know this code.WB2&pARAcnOwnUjMCK%hTk8JHyrT.I forgot to tell you that you buy a house and can design your own patterns on this game.

Bought this game the day it came out and I still love it!

Wow, this game is really addictive a la the Sims. The basic premise is you are a human, and you move into a town that consists entirely of human like animals. These animals are all quirky, and their biggest concern is how they decorate their house. You accumulate "stuff", and work for the town store clerk - Tom Nook. The game is just really weird, but in the best possible way. If you try to explain this game to someone who has never played it, they wouldn't get it. Playing it is the only way to get an accurate description of the game. Awesome game! A++++!!

PS - The game is good for all ages, although younger children who want to play it, should have a good grasp on basic reading to do so. The game, like Pokemon is very reading intensive.

Extremely Addictive - For All Ages!

I ordered this game on the off-chance that my 8 yr. old grandson would be a little occupied while staying with me during spring break this week and I absolutely got my moneys worth! Not only was he completely immersed in this imaginary world for the entire week - so was his grandmother (umm . . . . yes, that would be me)! Between the two of us, this game was running from around 7:00 a.m. (very good fishing time in the town my character lives in, not to mention the grandson was still sleeping) until approximately 11:30 p.m. (good time to pull weeds, shake trees for spending currency and get a little more fishing in!).

I was pretty surprised by how much I enjoyed just puttering my little character around in this imaginary world that I actually just ordered MY OWN COPY of the game to KEEP at my house. And what good is the game without the game console, so I also ordered my own GameCube, Wavebird Wireless controller and an extra memory card (because part of the fun is taking a train ride to visit a distant town and you need an extra memory card for that). Now I can't wait to set up my own town and my grandson can bring his town over on his memory card and when he visits me our Animal Crossing characters can visit each other also!

I definitely have to give this game TEN stars (but Amazon only lets me give it five)!!

A riot!

I own this game, it is a riot! I remember playing it for at least 2 hours when I first got it, you build and decorate your house, buy wallpaper, rugs, clothes, shovel, furniture, ax, net, ect. You can even go fishing! You will have many friends at your town as well. Friends will move sometimes. You can write letters to your friends and neighbors, go to the museum, shop, post office, police station, the tailor, and more! You can name your town whatever you please. From Thornton to Meow City. Like I said, whatever you please! This is a one player game, but can have 4 people be saved. It is also very helpful, because it comes with a memory card to use for the game instead of using your old one. On the long run... the game is a tremendous video game :)

Crossing over a good game

Animal Crossing is a story about a HUMAN in a world DOMINATED by the Animal Species i think. Well your character is living on his own. You start out on a train you adjust the date time and city name and all that good stuff and by that you get a different map ach time you start over. When you get there you dont have enough money to by a house so you have to work all it off by working for tom nook the LOSER Racoon. Once your done working you have to pay of the house rent if you want a bigger house you end up having to sell all the crap you dont need, and then at the end you get a two stroy house live there a year, but literally playing every day of the year 365 or 366. The graphics arent State of the art but the animals you meet in your neighborhood are fun and DIFFERENT. You can even celerbrate special hoildays and envents in your neighbor hood it is a great game no real negatives beside the graphics. There so much stuff to do in the Animal Crossing world. I give it 5 stars. A great Mintendo Story

Animal Crossing Addict

Upon immediately purchasing this game, I became perversely addicted. I thought before long that a group of the people who care about me in my life would have to perform an intervention . . .

But this game was MADE for people like me. And what do I mean by "people like me"? People who have tremendous amounts of freetime on their hands, that's who. I played this game for seven hours today and found it difficult to stop.

Everything about Animal Crossing is just so *cute*! You get to buy a house -- and later an even bigger one -- go fishing, catch insects and fish to donate to the local museum, design your own clothing, decorate your home with furniture and carpet and wallpaper. Then there's also your neighbors, who you can write to and recieve letters from and also exchange gifts with. The game is set to your own time of day, season, year, and month -- and it keeps on playing even when your GC is turned off! And if you have friends who are into the game, you can visit their town or invite them to live with you!

And even after all of this description, I am speaking from the experience of my own personal town. Each town is different to each player and to live in another one, you have to delete the one you've started. Every person who plays gets a different town unless they share one.

My town is called Faery, and I love it! Recently, I've been flirting back and forth with my neighbor (it's sick because he's an animal, but it's fun!), and I've also been growning an orchid. One of my main projects is to plant flowers around the town and capture insects and fish for our local museum.

Start your own town with Animal Crossings and begin a strange but fun life!

Great Game but can get boring

This game is really fun for a while. But, once you get your house as big as it can get, it can get boring. One good thing about this game is that every once in a while somebdy comes to your town. It could be a bird washed up on shore, Crazy Redd's black market, a traveler, a fortune teller, or a stuck up giraffe. You can create your own patterns at a shop, buy and sell clothes, furniture, or flowers at Tom Nook's, go to the police station (this only has lost and found), or go to the post office.
In this game you can join the HRA. This is a group of people that grade your house. The higher your house grade, the more new people come to your town. On sat. nights at 8:00 pm to 12 midnight, a guy named K.K comes. You can get music recordings from him.
There is a lot of awesome stuff about this game. But, it can get boring. Oh. Also, you can't win. It is like the sims. Play till your sick of it. I would buy this game if I were you. Really!

Interactive, non violent and teaches a few life lessons!!

I gave this game to my 8 year old on her birthday and she wants to play it all the time!! If you want your child to start learning things like telling time, earning and spending money wisely (mortgage, clothes, furniture) reading and writing skills (talking to townsfolk, writing and recieving letters), charity (giving things to the local museum or other townsfolk)and "making and keeping" friendships (doing favors/errands and chatting). They can even catch butterflies and bugs, go fishing, dig for buried treasures and fossils, and plant trees and flowers. My 3 year old can walk around the towns and not get frustrated because she's stuck as in so many other games. Her favorite part of the game is taking the train from one town to the other(In order to travel to other towns, you need to purchase a separate memory card for slot b of the gamecube) My daughters and their friends speak of the characters by name. Parents beware: one thing I don't like is some of the words they chose to have the animals use..ie: idiot...or some of the townsfolk say rude comments....I use this as a learning lesson. All in all, this game is a blast for all ages! Best video game yet as far as I'm concerned! A++++++++++

Great Game for All Ages, Highly Addictive.

This game is loved by my whole family. It is good for young children, old children, and even loved by adults who like wandering through the woods looking for stuff, visiting neighbors, rearranging furniture in your very own house, digging for loot, picking fruit, fishing, going to the store (lots of sales), sending mail, etc. It also has a creative side, you can design your own clothes, signs, and even Blanka's Face. You also can also start you own collections like space stuff, gyroids (musical cans), plants, clothes, dinosaurs etc. Lots of fun things to do. The game also has visitors like a fortune teller, black market dealer, a Santa type, the mayor and many others. The graphics are seasonal they change depending on the time of year. Can hardly wait for Animal Crossing 2. Well thought out family game definitely worth the cost.
