I'm so disappointed that this game is marked Super Mario 4 and claims to be NEW. It's a rerelease of Super Mario 3 combined with the Classic version of Mario Bros. It's a great game but wouldn't have bought it because I have it already on the SNES. I was looking for a NEW Mario when I purchased this cleverly packaged gameboy version.
As much as I loved the original,

The translation of this game didn't go over too well. I felt the GBA buttons made playing this game too difficult. I was stuck in level 5 for the longest time (NOTE I've beaten this game many a time on the old NES) and I finally gave up. I'm rating it middling, because the game and idea behind it is still excellent, just this version of it isn't so hot.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my personal favorite of the original Mario games. Super Mario Bros was Great then 2 came out and changed everything and they finished off strong with this one on the NES. Technically it's my favorite just for personal reasons. I loved it when it came out as it was unique and just added another level of fun to the already great series! If you love Mario and were around then when NES ruled you had this game and loved it. If you are a new player and like the current mario advance games then you'll eat this one up also. It's a MUST have for any true Mario fan!
Fun game but I should have saved my money!

I bought this game for gameboy advance. It is pretty fun but kind of boring and hard @ the same time. I regret buying it because I could have saved my money for something else. I should have thought twice before I bought this game but at least it wasn't that expensive. It was on sale.
Can Words Even describe How Good This Game Is?

I must have devoted 200 hours of my young life playing this game on my Nintendo. I'm not even one of those Mario freak[s], I play all sorts of games, from strategy to 1st person shooter like Halo and Jedi Knight 2. Yeah those games are all good, but can they even come close to such a classic? Each world provides you with a whole new adventure. I mean, could this game offer any more variety? You've got your desert land, water land, GIANT land (very sweet) ice land, sky world, grass land and KOOPA KINGDOM or Dark Land (Hardest of Them all by far) And Mario himself doesn't get old or boring either. The different suits that Mario ends up wearing are numerous, all providing a differen't type of gameplay. And the small portion of time (well depends how good you are at not getting hurt) that you actually end up getting to wear those different Mario suits is always a pleasure. My favorite being the one you barely ever got to wear, likely the Mario dude that threw those axes or whatever they are. This game never gets old, its a story in itself. And after all the time I've used playing this game, I'm still ready to start back up again, so please, have no fear when it come to replayability. Each level in this game is a classic. I dont even think I beat this game without using a game genie, and if I did it was only after I had been playing it like 5 years. Super Mario world on the other hand, I beat in like 2 weeks. If a game gives you 200 (perhaps more) hours of enjoyment, its one heck of a game. NO wonder its one of the best selling games of all time. Voted: Best game ever.-

Super Mario Bros 3 is by far the best game in the series. With so many levels and power-ups, this game will entertain you for hours. The graphics are the same as on the SNES version with some voice added by the same guy that gave Mario his pipes on the N64. If you have a E-Reader and another Game Boy (or Game Boy Player) you can use special e-cards that will add new levels and give you power-ups. Though it may be the same game as the one for SNES, the e-reader support and the fact that it's portable are a good enough reason to buy this game. I bought an e-reader just because of SMB3! This game is great! Don't pass this title up. You'll be sorry you did.
It is the best
